  1. I'd really appreciate some more details about the different loadouts, between combat mix, ground attack, anti-bomber, target etc. Not just a website but something in like the ingame Wiki for it would be handy, like how pattern to a mix, the effects of specific rounds, and the differences between these mixes across the different countries, etc.
  2. +1/2 While the engine and prop should rotate because of the starter being pressed, the engined in DCS will still attempt to fire off with magnetos off, which makes no sense. It'll just never catch, but it'll start to behave as if the magnetos are on, but the mixture is still at cutoff.
  3. What do you make of this? In P-51 ingame I reach my top speed with the coolant and oil flaps closed, but that doesn't follow the chart.
  4. I'd hope we'd see a flyable one at some point
  5. Absolutely. It sounds good, and unlike the Dora, it ain't fugly. A8 sports the iconic 190 look. It's a German P-47. Excellent A2G, and very tough
  6. You don't. If you look in the cockpit when you move the brake, you see it's just one lever. Use that with left and right rudder direction
  7. Sounds like brakes are inverted. Invert them
  8. Oh yeah, +1! This is a great idea, heck yeah
  9. Oh dang. If it's really just one guy, that'd explain Normandy a bit. It's not the best quality map still, after the revisit. But if it's one person, then that one person did a hell of a job
  10. I'll also add it gives an unfair advantage to VR players over conventional players. I can stick my head put the canopy to check my six in a 109. In straight and level flight, you shouldn't be able to check a significant area of your six. In the 109, with VR, I can stand up straight through the canopy and turn around in place to look behind me
  11. Well if you do get nausea very easily, then that's a better deterrent to not press your virtual forehead against the canopy. Hard limit is the way to go. Anything else won't cut it, and will break immersion even more than the original problem if anything.
  12. It's really not bad, doesnt cause nausea, or very little. VR head limits is something that should absolutely be added, when the canopy is closed.
  13. Are you 100% sure you're trimming down? Check the trim indicator needle, make sure it moves. Or just look at the wheel. Otherwise it does sound like a binding issue, like mentioned above
  14. So, I saw the post on Hoggit that Nick wanted a BoB planeset. But some of these others are new. What are your sources for the F8F and 109G?
  15. I'd immediately buy it. Stick and canvas aircraft at a DCS level would be awesome, especially a Sopwtih Camel. However, I do like WWII as well, and it already has scant effort put into it. I dont want to stretch ED even more.
  16. The A8 is kinda Stuka's replacement, for its role. A8 isn't really intended for much air combat, or at least used that way. It spent a lot of time ground attacking. For air combat the A-6 was much more suited
  17. +1 I've tried, as have others, to deliberately overstress the engine and it's just not currently possible in DCS. You can firewall it while in an aggressive constant horizontal turn until it runs out of gas
  18. There's every need to go up to 90,000+ Curvature looks slim from down low at 25k At 90k it looks better
  19. Can I ask what kind of sources (on the web, if any) you used? Or is most of the information you know gleaned from actual books?
  20. You can make them in photoshop, with a built in plugin. That's how I do it
  21. Last I tried I could bail out any plane at any speed. Perhaps ED added a feature that prevents bailout at high speeds?
  22. actually the map does have curvature. If you want to see it, take the F-15 up to 90,000 on a clear day in Nevada.
  23. I've also noticed something akin to this. When I turn on smoke, and I look at the pods, it will be the color I selected. When I look away, then back at them, I see the smoke is now white. And if I follow me trail, I can see where my selected colored smoke stops and the white smoke begins.
