  1. Marianas islands are beautiful, thank you for this map Still very demanding on CPU same as modern version.
  2. I believe only the DCS installer would do that "automatically" for you.
  3. There are also some egg heads like me who value simulation more than game play comfort so if something is not on the RL HOTAS it's not bound to my HOTAS either. It's fine if it lands on the base buttons though as you still have to take one hand away from the grip. Everything else is mouse and keys.
  4. You don't have to copy all the other settings while only this one does the job:
  5. DCS_updater.exe checks for updates and launches DCS after. DCS.exe just runs the current version. OP probably has the shorcut to this file.
  6. Uhm... what's stopping you from creating one in ME? tires.miz
  7. I actually do use mirrors so turning them off is not an option for me. I can also see the head movement depending on the module (F-14 looks great) but the reflection is still wrong and unrealistic more or less in every module.
  8. Even fixing the current wrong mirror rendering would be a huge step forward. Stereoscopic view would be a cherry on top. And I don't think it's that taxing - mirrors are optional anyway.
  9. Yeah, I thought the feature would come shortly after new clouds introduction as high priority. Clearly it's not the case. For now we can kinda simulate it in ME. Just set a cyclic trigger that changes enemy's ROE whenever player flies below set clouds altitude.
  10. It's not an AR headset. You can only see in-game cockpit including the HOTAS as is in the modeled aircraft, not your own. Additionally you can turn on simulated hands which you can control with Oculus touch controls and also control the in-game HOTAS instead of your own.
  11. Of course but for simulation devs choose one and keep within its capabilities, not every possible version and modification.
  12. Oh, really? Full price is $69.99, you paid EA price (-20%) $55.99 and you already acknowledged: "As with all early access products Iraq gives you access to the map as it develops, as such some items are still being worked on and developed." https://forum.dcs.world/topic/365676-dcs-iraq-release-faq/
  13. No, I don't agree. No one here is against the Iran map but the country is so huge the argument that we have some parts of it already is a good argument. The idea to make it for DCS is ok but feasibility is poor. So is the reason just because Mike saw some news in TV.
  14. I can see they've updated FAQ interactive map with Shiraz planned for Iraq South A good start... Seems like it was added already in Dec 2024 but not mentioned here in this thread.
  15. I agree but the map presented is ridiculously large. I don't think anyone seriously considered it as Iraq map expansion.
  16. You got it wrong. This map is for F4U, not F-4E
  17. This is modern Marianas map sub.
  18. Definitely not suitable for most jets but doable with lighter jets with short landing capabilities, like Viggen or Harrier.
  19. The line of thinking is this: Iran still have some number of F-14As that need parts and upgrades badly. USA don't want any of the parts to get into Iran so they destroy every airframe they have only keeping a few in the museums. They also don't want Iranians to get any possible upgrade docs (like D manuals). Hence, once all Iranian F-14s get destroyed there may be no incentive to keep the D docs secret apart from the systems they deem still confidential like radar, DL or IR sensor.
  20. In programming everything is possible... but to connect new spheric global map with existing flat hand made maps based on completely different tech and coords systems is simply not feasible. It'd take helluva work to make it even doable on the fly. Think memory management, connecting not only textures and terrain mesh but also the paths for roads, rails, rivers and managing smooth movement of player, units and weapons between the boundaries. I bet they will never go into it. You either use DLC maps or global map.
  21. Qatar is slated to be modeled in Iraq map, south part. PG is Strait of Hormuz focused.
  22. It doesn't make sense to make one country map*. It needs at least parts of the surrounding countries for bases, cities, military and stategic targets. They plan to make SA, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar bases on Iraq map but only one for the Iran yet (Shiraz Int.), which is a pity. Same with A-stan missing any russian or Pakistan bases. *apart from NTTR obviously
