That it's a soldier, not civilian.

Forgot to set Master ARM On? Any mods? One Durandal bug I know of is wrong impact point calculation - you'd have to aim for the end of the runway depending on alt.

It's coming and it will be delivered. No need to ask unless you want another meaningless "hope" estimation. Same with A-6 AI

Common cons are ED unwillingness to portray killing people and performance. The former can be mitigated by making them invulnerable but it'll look stupid though. Maybe disappearing could work better? Performance can be achieved by good LODs of models and short visible range of drawing. All maps would have to add paths for their movement and placement just like for the cars and trains.

Contrail direction influenced by wind, is not okay !
draconus replied to P3CFE's topic in Weather System Bugs & Problems
No, it's not calculation heavy. Not more than any smoke already affected by wind. -
Last time the problem was reshader.dll - you had to remove it. You can also try to find the launcher=true line in saved games/dcs/config/options.lua and edit it to false.

It did not change with any updates since years. I found this pic most helpful: As you can see it's easy. Ex. you want to put statics on Cat 1 and block it from being used. Just put static Hornets on spots 11, 5, 9, 14 thus no aircraft are designated for Cat 1. Spots 1-4 (Six Pack) are not active in MP and are used once at the start of the SP mission so +1 second to all spawned aircraft is needed. That's probably why ED is not going to say that but we can on the forum Here's a thread already made by ED where anyone can share their contribution to make DCS more beginner friendly:

You mean the deck crew? They released the feature they deemed working good enough after years, no rush involved, and then they improved it and corrected some bugs. It still have some bugs and may not be what most players dreamed of but it works, at least for SP, those who understand how it works and those who committed some time testing it. Otherwise you could wait playing with empty deck waiting for the bug-free version god knows how long. You still can - just disable the crew. Yes, that is how it works from the beginning. Details in manual and forum.

This is just one of the 2 free aircraft. It can but doesn't have to be your starting aircraft and neither is advised as a trainer. If it's your first time ever - there is always istant action where you're already up in the air flying. It's not so delicate when you keep within the speed limits and don't treat it like a drifting car. Becoming proficient military aircraft pilot is not beginner friendly? Yeah, someone has to tell the truth. You're not going to be an ace over the weekend.

There's a lot of misconceptions and pure lies here. You don't need $4k PC with every possible sim hardware to run DCS. You don't need to buy any module to start learning and flying. You don't need paid campaigns or MP to enjoy the game. Being Steam user doesn't lock you from downloading DCS from ED site and taking advantage of free trials. Caucasus is pretty decent for a free starting point. MP community isn't toxic or rather it depends on where do you enter and how you start - you can find toxic people in any community. SP is limited? By what? Creator imagination? OK. Training and learning takes time and dedication? Yeah it does. You're getting into full fidelity aircraft simulation. What did you expect? There are a lot of ways to learn - everyone can find their own which fits them best. Mustang isn't appealing? It's legendary but I'm not into props either. Take Su-25 for a spin then. The choice is yours. It's there to introduce you and let you try but if it's your kind of aircraft you can end up flying it as your main ride. Let's not get into another discussion of EA, new free module or marketing. I was beginner once too. I started with low end PC, $50 HOTAS (already had one bought for LOMAC) and $5 FC module on sale. Took me over 200 flight hours to get confident and combat ready. I spent a lot of time on the forum, reading DCS and RL manuals. I play almost exclusively SP and enjoyed it very much for over 7 years. I find DCS community very helpful and some dedicate a lot of their time and talents to create content and share with other players... for free! I stayed with DCS - you seem frustrated a lot but you're still with us

Potential mistake in MiG-29A FAQ about R-27ER and R-27ET
draconus replied to quantum97's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Because head-on high-alt high-speed is not the only possible use scenario. -
Cannot login from second computer to forum
draconus replied to SKYWARRIOR's topic in Forum and Site Issues
Run "cmd" as admin. Run "ipconfig/flushdns". That's a so called "DNS refresh". If you have ever edited the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file, please remove any lines pointing to "digitalcombatsimulator.com" or "forum.dcs.world". The file needs admin rights too. Restart the PC and try again. "ipconfig/all" command can show you currently used DNS servers. Look for the network adapter you're using currently as there can be several. You can try to set your network adapter to use some known good DNS like from Google, DNS IP address: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. If you still can not login contact support: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/ -
Many probably expect current DCS terrain quality level on a global map. That's not possible. What a whole Earth map gives us though is a possibility to create missions on a bigger scale without local map constraints. Probably not a rotor head dream.

So please tell me what SA assets I'm missing in vanilla DCS? -
Kola Development Report | Bat Bomb Progress | F4U-1D on Finals
draconus replied to Graphics's topic in Official Newsletters
What's your point? I don't own SA map and I'm not missing any assets because they are in DCS core, no matter what folder they are in. -
Please share a solution. It may help others.

draconus replied to Graphics's topic in Official Newsletters
I doubt anything will be tied to the module ownership. SA assets are free for all in DCS core. -
Yes.

We already have it on 3 maps... partially.
