Search for "Windows Lite" to answer the windows question . Also , Windows creates a lot of tmp (temporary) files that should be cleaned up now and then . Britec on YT has a vid showing how . Dcs also creates some temp files as well as keeping "old" files any time you run a repair , unless you tell it to delete them . If you run only sp , there are also a lot of livery files you could delete , although you would have to delete again after every update . Best solution is more storage !

I find the RiftS tracking works well even in very low-light conditions . Inside-out tracking , well-implemented , (side-eyes G2) is all one needs for simming-only . Unfortunately , Facebook . So i'm looking forward to Don's review of the Pro2 .

You make my point ! Lessee , a thousand times say $100 . Yeah , that would pay for the massive development effort required to bring an utterly incompatible aircraft to DCS . The Hercules is at least compatible , and it's development would require an order of magnitude less effort than a B-52 . Nor does the effort required to bring a B52 into DCS lend itself to a "labor of love" by a non-commercial entity . Nevah . Gonna . Happen - at least in something other than a severely "dumbed down" version that bears no relation to reality - rather like this thread .

Dunno if i would worry to much . When flying the Hornet , i often show a 2-3% difference in-cockpit with a single axis CH Pro throttle

? Are you confusing DSC with DCS ?

Because DCS does not effectively use the cpu at present . I went from a i5-6500 to a 9700k and saw very little-to-no performance/graphics improvement . When i (some 10 months later) replaced my 1070 with a 6800xt , the difference was massive .

Don't think this is a Virpil problem . I have all CH hotas and rudder pedals , and have gotten in the habit of cycling all axes after opening DCS , after experiencing similar problems .

Better sell 2 of them...

Am excited to see the DP connection . I'm guessing the Neo uses its own API ? so it may be a while before we can use it in DCS ?

If you build your own pc's , and don't mind being bound to Intel , you could always upgrade the memory , and see if you're happy . If not , you could use it in the new build . You could also upgrade the cpu (and cooler) if you wish to a 9000 series to turbo up to 20% faster than the 8400 . (My 9700k turbos to 4.8 , as opposed to your 8400's 4) You can then evaluate your 1070ti , and if you wish , purchase a more powerful 1440 p gpu , even at today's inflated prices , and with all the above upgrades still being within your budget .

The conventional thought on these forums is that VR performance is limited by the gpu , not the cpu . Even in 2D , the gain from a 8600k @ 5.2 ghz to a 5600 is micro-minimal if any at all , and would hardly be worth a new cpu and motherboard .

There is a tickbox in DCS settings , "use vr headset" or something to that effect . I always start and minimise Oculus , then use Skatezilla's GUI to launch DCS in VR mode . Launching within Oculus often causes the problem you describe .

I'm not even certain there's a statement in that article that qualifies as a "rumor" Clock is ticking on my RiftS , so perhaps my anxiety about its replacement is showing ...

I am as excited as anyone to see new headsets entering the market . But that article is is nothing but speculative bloviation .
