  1. I have no experience with WidmoVR , but i have purchased two sets of lenses (CV1 and Rift S) from VRoptician , and couldn't be happier with them-and their packaging .
  2. Guessing you're not using a mouse ? If you choose to use a mouse , the cross disappears after a couple of seconds of disuse , and reappears when you move the mouse again .
  3. Cap frame rate at 120 hz ?
  4. My 1070 is worth more now than i paid for it new ...too bad a grandson called dibs on it !
  5. I don't see that 'puter as limiting Another consideration would be usage . Seated sim-only play ? Or do you anticipate enjoying room-scale vr as well ? More into "plug and play" or do you have a high tolerance for tweaking ? G2 , Rift S , Index and Pimax all have their adherents , and pluses and minuses . Rather than seeking recommendations , i advise doing your own (thorough) web research , as no one save you can establish your own priorities , i.e. fov , colors , clarity , comfort , refresh rate , audio , software etc .
  6. Right-click the DCS executable (not the updater) , select properties , select compatability and you'll see it .
  7. Have you tried disabling fullscreen optimisations ? I'm running a 6800xt with essentially default Adrenalin settings and do not see the stuttering .
  8. What does "enterprise" mean ? $3k ? And i think for combat flight sims the vertical fov would be problematic . Doesn't look to comfortable either . Would love to be wrong about all of this , as i'm being put off the G2 by all the qc issues and update problems , and am looking forward to more hi-rez launches ....
  9. I have to disagree with parts of what you say here . I (and others) had no issue running 1.5 ssaa and 2x msaa-@ 60 hz , maintaining vsync and thus keeping TrackIr micro-stutter free , as well as having a sharper picture than using msaa alone , which blurs the picture . I do think the 8gb vram is good advice , although i never tried 6 .
  10. 32 gb will also allow 100% preload radius , minimising in-game terrain loads in sp .
  11. I had quite good results running a 1070 at 1080p . Noticeably smoother than the 3gb 1060 i previously ran , and i was able to run both 2x msaa and 1.5 ssaa , which killed the sparklies , shimmering etc . A 1660 ti , a rx 5700 , or a 2060 should be ok as well .
  12. This problem is not limited to the Cosmos , as several threads here attest . I know of nothing the end user can do to mitigate the problem , except close your eyes during loading if it bothers you
  13. I'm gonna assume from your spelling of "fibre" that your're in GB ? Have you considered Starlink ?
  14. We have a new necro-post winner !
  15. I think at 1080p and 60hz , the 5700 should do the job well . But i fully agree regarding the ram . Is there an AMD motherboard bios setting a`la "xmp" that must be addressed for stated clocks ?
  16. Thanks . Am investigating why Adrenalin and GPU-Z are only reporting PCIE 3.0X2 , even while running -Z rendering test .
  17. I know of no evidence to suggest any improvement this year...
  18. Not sure what you mean by "max fps" . What i tried to say is that i'm having a smooth experience whether at 80 , 40 , or the transition between the two . I work the pc as hard as possible , very low over Batumi , rolling and pulling hard and sweeping my view from forward to aft when testing . My pc is DCS-exclusive , so i have neither the ability to test nor an interest in how games perform . I am running a RiftS .
  19. Either will be fine . Right now , practical availability may be the deciding factor .
  20. I have to respectfully disagree with this statement , with regard to Oculus . ASW is so seamless with my setup that i can't tell when it switches in or out absent a fps counter .
  21. Gotta update my post to say that my 6800xt is absolutely smoking my Rift S . I couldn't be happier with the upgrade from a 1070 . One setting i had forgotten about was that hidden Oculus graphics quality/performance option . I had previously set it for the 1070 , and a Mudspike post inspired me to revisit it . Wow . Smooth , sharp graphics now have taken DCS to the next level .
  22. I'm quite happy with my 6800xt driving a RiftS . No ASW problems here . Very smooth at quite high graphics and aa setings , and handles Syria very well .
  23. I'm considering getting a G2 , or possibly a Q3 if it incorporates a DP or HDMI cable in the next iteration . In the meantime , I'm quite happy with my current RiftS , which represents a substantial increase in clarity over my previous CV1 . I use headphones instead of the native audio , and find the Oculus setup and tweaking to be far simpler than what i have read of the G2 . I also appreciate the much larger sweet-spot and reliability of the S , as compared to the G2 . To me the biggest downside is the Facebook connection , soon to be exacerbated if the court cases go the wrong way . Also , if your ipd is well outside the norm , the S might not be for you .
