  1. Can you share a source for that? It isn't unheard of for them to change their minds day to day, but I've only seen them say that it's intentional and just the way the multicrew works.
  2. I really don't understand how your performance is so bad with that computer. I'm on a 4790K, 6GB 1060, 32GB DDR3. I have most settings around the medium to high level and I rarely get any noticeable slowdown. There must be something else causing your problem, but I have no idea what.
  3. The Kiowa isn't an attack helicopter, it's a scout helicopter. The Kiowa Warrior is an armed scout helicopter.
  4. Earlier in the thread you mentioned having full collective (rotated). The collective control isn't the rotation, it's the up & down movement. The rotating part is the throttle, and that should (in all normal conditions) be left at full while you only interact with the collective. You aren't somehow getting the 2 mixed up and trying to fly with the throttle are you?
  5. I can't remember where I saw it written, but I'm sure someone said that when the pilot takes TADS, it takes it away from the front seat and they can't see it anymore. I'd assume that means their controls are also disabled, in which case there'd be no laser. Even if the laser trigger did still work, the pilot would have to tell them when to fire it and when to stop because they wouldn't see anything.
  6. So far it's always been in the special tab of each aircraft.
  7. DCS Kneeboards are just a collection of images. you could easily open them in a a normal image viewer and display them on whatever monitor/computer/phone that you want
  8. You mean the accent they write text with? (At least in the early stages)
  9. I thought he was referring to George, not Jester. I could be wrong though. (or whatever the AH-64 one is supposed to be called. now I've said George I can't even remember if that's right)
  10. rear seat is pilot, that means AI is CPG.
  11. It does work, a few people here have done it. I ordered it myself but then discovered that the mounting solution they chose wouldn't work for me.
  12. In England, Turkey Day is Christmas.
  13. Is this with a human in the RIO seat? I've had it a couple of times when I spawn into the rear seat and the wing position isn't properly synced. The pilot sees the wings swept, I see them out, and stuff starts to explode.
  14. Disregard. I was looking at the wrong thing! It's the same price on both here, at around £41. What country are you in? In the UK it's considerably cheaper on the official website. $55.99 (about £41) on the website, or £56.99 on Steam.
  15. Signal flares aren't illumination flares. Illumination flares are rockets that deploy a bright flare to light up the area underneath them. I don't have a full list of what aircraft can deploy them, but the UH-1H, Mi-8 and Su-25 definitely can. I'd expect the Hind too but I haven't looked. Signal flares are coloured flares to send a signal to friendly forces. Usually they pop out of the side of your aircraft, close range.
  16. The apache uses throttle levers, not a rotating grip.
  17. Sorry, I also missed a couple of posts and then assumed you were talking about the original topic.
  18. Especially after so long insisting that there was absolutely no way they could ever be used on those pylons and there was no evidence for it.
  19. But the 18 is a single seat aircraft, therefore you're only doing one job.
  20. If you set up a virtual axis, you'll bind it in the axis section in DCS.
  21. I can't remember what the default key is, but if you find the controls for the gunner ROE, there's a toggle for the display too.
  22. In the top right corner of the HSI there's a little circular window. In the bottom right (I think... the one that isn't set heading) there's a little knob that rotates the compass. Rotate that knob until the two compasses match, and in the circular window you should see half x, half circle.
  23. Wags said in a mini update that the Apache should be the easiest to fly in DCS. The Hip and Hind are both much more difficult than the Huey.
  24. Unless this is simulated incorrectly in DCS, a sidewinder with no lock will simply fly straight. It seems like a strange thing to do, but theoretically possible that all he had available was a sidewinder and he lined up the nose and fired it boresight. More like an unguided rocket.
  25. No problem. I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
