Roll Input structural failure modeling is incorrect.
Cab replied to =475FG= Dawger's topic in Bugs and Problems
If that’s the case then the pendulum has swung too far. In my experience, and I do own all the jet modules, no plane in DCS breaks it’s wings as easily as the F-5 -

I'm confused. Are people suggesting this current behavior in DCS is accurate? -

Go back and look, bud. I just replied to someone's post. -

Yep, keep telling yourself that. And I challenge you to post any comment from ED where they encourage what you claim. People flock to Open Beta because they want the newest stuff RIGHT NOW, not because ED encourages them to. And to be clear, I am on Open Beta, too. Because I want the newest stuff RIGHT NOW. On the contrary, I gave it the attention it deserved. -

Wrong. The facts are: 1. It is called "Open Beta". 2. ED has always been very clear about the purpose of Open Beta. 3. Everyone knows what "Open Beta" means. 4 YET...some people keep insisting Open Beta MUST be something it was never intended to be. Quite frankly, this is getting tiring. Personally, I think everyone should have to check a box acknowledging an understanding of the purpose of an Open Beta release before they can download. -
Bignewy has written a couple of times that multicore is currently in internal testing.
-
Fair enough. And likewise, I'm getting tired of people using an acknowledged open beta product but insisting that it must perform like a finished product. And regarding the server situation, take it up with the admins.
-
Apparently Open Beta is not for you. Conveniently, ED also has a stable version.
-
Is this a good time to remind people it’s called “Open BETA” for a reason?
-
It's there now.

Will there be a f-4e terminator (2020) variant?
Cab replied to Mini.Adam's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Whether we get it in DCS or not, it's nice to be reminded that the old girl is still flying and ready to fight. -
This is quickly becoming a mother and child reunion.

100% true, except of course when it isn’t. Because like so much else in aviation, “it depends”.
-
So your explanation above about being “concerned with the health and behavior” was specific to the TF30. Got it now.
-
True, but I don’t understand the significance of that here.

I would be happy for a Christmas Miracle! All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, multicore support, and the mighty F-4 Phantom II.

The Hornet does, too And the F-16

Just don't expect that to work at the boat. Keep your speed brake fully extended.
-
To be clear I'm talking about non-military (and certainly non-U.S. Naval) airports here. During a cross county flight to those types of airports it is not unusual at all to have to fly a modified pattern if the local rules required it. Sometimes they might even have to fly the dreaded straight-in!
-
Ultimately if you're not "going to the boat" then do what you want. You're basically simulating a land-based pilot flying a Tomcat. Also, in RL it's common practice for Naval Aviators to fly modified patterns in order to conform with local area rules at airports. And as long as you're not landing on the carrier, AOA at touchdown is not critical, or even necessary. But you probably want to fully extend the speed brake in the overhead turn and keep it out until touchdown.
-
And you won't look as good in the break with the wings forward.

why does the f-18 not allow one to use weapons if the wheel door is broken?
Cab replied to Ramstein's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
That's not a bad question, but I don't think any airplane anywhere has the gear retract automatically.
