I find in some circumstances it's a bit of a lower framerate than others - comparable with the F-14. Not sure why. But sometimes it's fine.

You may also check the axis calibration in Windows. My TWCS paddles are quite jumpy as well with zero input. I really should go in and clean them out soon.

None of us know about the super carrier yet and I doubt the devs will respond quickly if at all in this thread. My guess is that trackir will work everywhere but it’s only a guess.

are there known and proven (by data and sources) problems with eastern aircraft gun dispersion? It may be that its simply easier to find data or video sources for western militaries right now.

There was no flight model update. Flies exactly the same to me. Do you have a good understanding of trim and autopilot channels? Can you re-check the special options in case one of those settings is not what you expect?

Can map markers be hidden in the mission until a certain trigger?

Considering we haven't heard a word or seen any video about the Supercarrier lately, and it seems ED has had all hands on deck dealing with 2.5.6, I predict it will be pushed back a little. Maybe end of April. We'll see, though. I'd love to be wrong.

No way to do this I'm aware of. They do it this way to simulate what the pilot would experience because I think the aircraft would be preflighted by the crew beforehand, or by the previous pilot on shut-down. As the pilot, you still need to verify every switch position before starting up. I would love an option (maybe a random failure setting in the ME) for random switches to be out of the correct position sometimes, so the prestart checks actually mean something and I can't skip them and assume that every switch will be as it should be.

For buddy lasing, I would use the DMT in LSS mode to spot the laser and then drop in Auto mode on the designated point. Works even without a targeting pod. But if your sensor systems are degraded for some reason, CCIP would be my next choice, using a DMT lock on the approximate target area for ranging. If CCIP is also degraded somehow, there are backup modes, although I don't know if they are implemented yet. The following is from the Tac Manual: The manual bomb mode is DSL/DIR, selected on the armament control panel. It uses backup bomb sights, selected using "SITE" on the Stores page, or on the UFC. Set the reticle depression using DEPR RET on the UFC.

It's frustrating because I can get the Sabres in my crosshairs for seconds at a time, over and over, and I try to lead them with the fixed sight as well as I can for a deflection shot, but none of my bullets ever connect. Last 4 or 5 instant action dogfights I keep getting opportunity after opportunity but end up running out of ammo without a single hit.

I don't believe you can command any other flights but your own in DCS, unless through scripted F10 menus

I really enjoy flying the MiG-15 and I can get snapshot or tracking positions on the AI Sabres pretty frequently. But I can not connect with the guns! I try to leave the gyro caged until I'm lining up a shot, then match wingspan and fire, but the gyro sight bounces all over the place. With the gyro caged, I'm still having trouble connecting, mostly because the firing rate of the Mig's cannons are somewhat slow. Anyone got tips?

Definitely. Set the JDAM/JSOW to TOO Mode. Open the JDAM Display page. Click TDC Designate on the TGP screen. The coordinates should populate in the JDAM Display.

I’ve been able to edit the load out but you need to make a new load out to do so, can’t edit the existing mission load out. I replayed it the other day with two GBU-10s and it was pretty great results wise, only one bomb needed to destroy the target. I got to the alternate tasking after refueling (still had too much gas to need to refuel though) and after both my sidewinders missed and my wingman drove into a SAM, I RTB’d. Gun might have helped a bit. Mission can definitely be done with no tpod and only dumb bombs. Heck, probably don’t need external bags either since the refueling is part of the mission. Maybe I can swap them for more sidewinders.

Could the targeting modes be set to air-to-air or ground moving target by mistake?

For air to air I'd say it's good. The radar is a little buggy especially in ACM modes, but overall it's very effective. Air to ground is another story - it's pretty much broken right now, trying to make it work is an exercise in frustration for me. We sorely need cursor zero implemented.

I've had this happen once or twice in the past few years where an update wipes out all my campaign progress. It's pretty crappy.
