I just want a proper deck to fly my community A-4 from. The other carriers are great and I love the F-14. But the A-4 needs a ship to match it. The Forrestal fits so many situations, IMHO. Static Whales and SH-2's, A-6/A-7's...I could go on and on! Oh well, one can dream!
-
Yes, you should try the Tomcat. The Harrier is a lot of fun too! The Syria map is great since you don't have that one.

Hey man, thank you for this awesome training mission. I'm having loads of fun!
-
Agreed! This is a very exciting time!
-
Indeed! Some AI of all of this would flesh out an 80's style Air Wing. E-2D's and SH-60F 's on the Forrestal will look odd. That pic you have of the Ranger is so nostalgic, reminds me of the days with good color books with lot's of pics. The Whale is definitely an interesting aircraft. The fact that they dubbed the A-3D as "All 3 dead" was crazy. It had ejection seats and the Navy removed them to make the aircraft lighter for Carrier ops! It's like an E-2 with jet engines, big and beautiful! But she's bigger than the E-2 obviously!

Oh nice one brother! Mister "All 3 dead" himself!

reported earlier Weird looking ship wake/wave pattern in 2.7.

To be fair, there are times when you can see the waterline, it just depends on the sea state. I think the waves in the wake do look funny. Something is off but I can't put my finger on it. Edit: it is an improvement though! -
Plane fell out the sky. What did I do wrong?

Check out how this guy uses his TRIM. Controls always moving, mostly! -

It sounds like a technique thing. Always keep the stick moving and monitor your VV. Try flying the downwind at nozzles 60. Make sure your Water is engaged to give you a little extra thrust. The throttle is very sensitive at this point. Think of it as balancing a needle. The Harrier is about power management and numbers in the landing phase. Your going to be working! Don't worry about overshooting 82 degrees, use the HUD readout when in VTSOL mode! And most importantly, be patient! I hope that helps -

Keep trying brother. The standard line up to port and then transition over is self gratifying when you get it right. Remember to land Spot 7 1/2. Use the elevator to judge where you are. If you can fly formation with the ship, you are halfway there. You'll get it! -

The AV-8B(VSTOL Shipboard and Landing Signal Officer) NATOPS says One half to three quarters of a mile is when you should go to "Hover Stop". Do you guys have the 80T-111? Downwind you should be at nozzles 50-60. Use the TACAN and at 0.5-0.8 DME, go to "Hover Stop"! I can try and attach the diagram if you guys don't have it! I like your setup as I too use the TMWH. I use the Left throttle for the Nozzles and the antennae axis for Hover stop. I used to use the Antennae axis for the Nozzles. -

Good luck anyway. Hope you find what you are looking for! -

Okay my guy. What Rig are you running? My point was, it's your (or whoever's) rig, not mine! The problems you have seem isolated to only a couple of guys. I guess ED has a lot of work to do so the Bort numbers will be an ever long thing. The solution only seems to be inferior if you let it be, but it is a solution! Good luck bro! -
Now that is what I'm talking about! Thanks bro!
-
It is different, but not bad! I'm all for USA this or that but Spanish Ops are alright! There's less deck space but the same principles apply. I'm having trouble getting the TACAN set for it but I've day CQ'd it and love it. The night lighting looks good!

The Juan Carlos L61, is the Spanish LHD. There is a freeware Mod in the mods section. I found out about it after watching someone's YouTube videos. I don't think I can link YT videos here but the name is Desdemicabina simulation. LHD JUAN CARLOS I (L61) MOD - DCS Mods - ED Forums (eagle.ru)

It took me 6 months to hover and land correctly (the witches hat is my friend). Mainly because I have too many modules. I've decided to concentrate on only one and that's the AV-8B. That and I love air-to-ground more than air-to-air and the Harrier fits. The flexibility in the Harrier for a wide range of missions is all the rage. I also discovered the freeware Juan Carlos; it's really nice! I have dreams of a radar bird one day (can I say that here)! HA!
-
I love it. It would be double nice if we could get a proper LSO.
-
Is it me or does hovering to land in the Harrier feel more of a skill set than trapping on a carrier? Lately, the Harrier has become my favorite as well. Can't wait for the improvements!

Blue Angels Livery: Add the dynamic Bordnumber to the Tail
Jackjack171 replied to T-O-A's topic in Wish List
Only if it is yours or someone else. As I said, I have loads of memory and more liveries than I can count, which makes it an individual rig thing! I'm guessing the OP is due for an upgrade! -

Blue Angels Livery: Add the dynamic Bordnumber to the Tail

Ok. Must be an individual rig thing. My Memory sits just fine! Oh well! -
I wouldn't call it badgering at all! It may be a little spicy but it's just a difference of opinion. Fri gave some good ideas as well as Shagrat but we all just have a different in opinion. There's nothing wrong or right about that! I'm tracking you brother. Now the Handicap guys is where I have to show some empathy. That's not their fault!

Back on Topic: @Fri13just put out some awesome gouge. Yes sir! The school of hard knocks and the Collegiate can coexist! I love to watch the magic happen!

Avenue of attack? Funny! No dude, it's just good old plain English. I made my points earlier. And thanks for the suggestion on reading. I would suggest Bulletproof Alpha Male and The Art of War by Sun Tzu for you if you are interested! We studied fallacies in one of my Leadership courses. And you used a few red herring arguments yourself!
