  1. It would be really nice if we could get true cyclic flight operations! That way, everyone launches and recovers (with some exceptions) on time the way they do IRL. I'm patiently waiting for that day.
  2. I know that Chuck's Guides says using the E Bracket and aircraft reticle is unreliable but I find it extremely useful. I learned that from another civilian-ish sim (that I played the crap out of) that I won't mention here. Yes the AOA indexer is horribly dim, but you can land with it. You may want to try it on land multiple times to get used to it but it is doable.
  3. To be fair, you did ask a question on an open forum. That's just life and on the internet, you have to have thick skin! I'm not attacking you (just in case) but neither did Sierra99. It's not his fault that you don't like the answer. I see you use a T1600! The hardware you have is very limited I'm afraid. If you can, you may have to upgrade. Maybe have all of your Flight Controls set to the HOTAS and everything else wherever. I think what Sierra99 was getting at is; we cannot expect ED to cater to everything we want, especially if our equipment at home is not up to the challenge. In a perfect world that works but, here we are. I hope you find what you need!
  4. Yup, that's just a bad call. Anyone that's been here a while should know how complex software development can be. Money over fun! Patiently waiting for the 18th!
  5. Thank you HB! You guys over there are always putting in the work. I'm just glad the Forrestal is coming. A 70's style F-14A is going to fit well with that, in respects to time frame. Stunning work!
  6. I agree. I just did some CCIP bombing and found out that I was rusty after not doing it for so long. The Viper is LIMITED but very capable in A/G.
  7. That's a BLK 40 from the 510th FS out of Aviano, Italy bro!
  8. Didn't seem like he was talking down to anyone. He was explaining it to us. There's a difference bro!
  9. You can find Nealius on You Tube as CLUTCH https://www.youtube.com/user/Nealiuss. I thought your last pass was pretty decent, even though a one wire! You're getting it. You've got the basics down. It just takes time and the LSO/ball mechanics need some work as well so it's not all on you. I practice at Nellis and Creech as well. I wish we had a land based IFLOLS at Nellis or anywhere for that matter. Keep at it bro!
  10. I find it (E-Bracket) quite surprisingly useful. I practice my approaches with it. The AOA indexer being too dim, I use it on land and at the boat. I'm guilty of ignoring the VV as I find it sloshes in space almost. Line up the needles and I'm good until In-close and shift to the ball. So for me, Line up, AOA, ball. It is finicky though. Also took me a buttload of practice approaches too. Lol
  11. That's what I read. Also, the BlK 40's use JHMCS.
  12. I'm sorry. A little research would have went a long way for you. There's 15 pages for this particular forum mate. It is still EA! You may as well re-install it until it is fixed. Or not! It is still a cool product! JJ
  13. I agree! I found this out by approaching the target at different angles. The sun and other conditions are a factor.
  14. Can you clarify realistic-ish please? Asking for a friend!
  15. I used to carry too much until I looked at the RL loadouts in books and YouTube. I reduced drag with a more flexible loadout: 1. ALQ-148 2. APKWS 3. AGM-65L 4. EMPTY 5. GBU-54 6. EMPTY 7. GBU-12 8. EMPTY 9. AGM-65 10. LITENING POD 11. AIM-9M2
  16. My bad! Even during a high speed run, WITHOUT aircraft, you never hear the ships engines. Below the waterline you can only feel it. Hope that makes sense.
  17. Hi, Sorry I forgot about this and coming to these forums sometimes is a like a trip to a daycare facility. Anyway, to answer your question, once the Airboss calls starts for that event (Launch and recovery cycle), you cannot hear the radars turning. At least I couldn't. At night when we spot the deck again (reset for the first launch the next day) you can hear them spinning or emitting (I honestly don't know which is which). You can hear the ocean then to. But as far as during flight ops, I recall hearing the 1MC, 5MC (announcements on live speaker) barely and the aircraft. Again, I'm not a pilot, I was a Flight Deck Chief. I imagine the cockpit is way quieter. I hope this helps. Please feel free to ask me anything or email me.
  18. Am I missing something here? It literally took 2 seconds to change the course knob for BRC via mouse. Is the module broken or is this a pit builder thing?
  19. Not on the Carrier though. Any Lights on deck, day or night tells the deck crew (because we have no comms with the aircrew) that you have no brakes/loss of hydraulic pressure.
  20. Got it! Got caught up in the conversation. Lol
  21. Of note, it seems to be that the only F-16 units using the Scorpion are the ANG units and maybe the AFRC. And that maybe because they are flying older Block aircraft. All Frontline units with BLOCK40/50 use the standard JHMCS. To put a Scorpion JHMCS in the Block 50 we currently have would make it a Frankenstein aircraft. Attention to detail is important here!
  22. Yup. As I recall, there were several real life maintainers that chimed in on this. I guess he missed that though.
  23. Dude, it literally only took 5 minutes to fix all that you mentioned! Really?
  24. Thanks, Scrape!
