  1. I'm not sure how accurate it is but The Modern Viper Guide by Jake Melampy states the same thing. And usually those publications are pretty good references. If anyone else knows more, please let us all know. PS: That book is awesome!
  2. 3 years in Misawa, Wild Weasel Heaven and never saw more than 2 carried. STA3 and 7. That makes sense.
  3. Got it. Thank you my friend!
  4. I guess I misread it. The date at the top says May. I honestly thought there was an update this week. So, I'm a bit confused. Thanks for the info.
  5. Where did they post that?
  6. +1 Let's have an invisible jet like the old Wonder Woman tv shows! That would be great. I can't wait for that feature.
  7. Bro, I'm still waiting on wands at night for the directors. I think this whole Supercarrier thing was a big monster and it will take a while to get all the goods. I'm impressed they got what they got lol
  8. Once Primary calls the start, (all aircraft involved in that event will start) it is all hand signals from there. This is all at a predetermined time. As the jet comes up, the Deck caller will signal for the aircraft to get broken down and sent to what ever CAT. I'm not sure what comms the pilots go through between each other. But it is pretty much a silent symphony! ED has to work on that part and much more. Though I understand why it is the way it is initially. The Flight Deck and Flight Ops are very dynamic and complex. Ed is on the right path though. I hope this helps.
  9. There's more than a second delay needed. You should try a CAT1/CAT3 or CAT4/CAT2. Even 2/3 are better. We called it a COVEY launch.
  10. IRL you cannot launch simultaneously from the bow. That's real!
  11. I see your point
  12. A lot of us vet's don't do physics my friend. Sure we have an idea but mostly no. I've worked around and been responsible for multimillion dollar aircraft my entire life. I'm no genius but I understand them. Sometimes experience is key. Some of us are not Rhodes Scholars but we are not idiots. We are Operators. I'd take Snoopy's word for it. And I do not know him at all in person, I just read what he says just on the forums. Here in 2020, I have a new found love for the A-10. I'm starting to miss Active Duty because of DCS lol Peace
  13. YES! I agree.
  14. I'm with you on that!
  15. There's definitely vapor in this video. No wing flex but lots of vapes. If we could get the vapor, that would be nice to have. I think this is one of the coolest A-10 vids that I have ever seen!
  16. Thank you so much. That did the trick!
  17. I have the Israeli skins from Bartzi installed just as the rest of my skins but, for some reason the IAF skins will not show in the rearm/refuel window. They are in the livery folder. I'm confused. Any help would be appreciated.
  18. You have it correct my friend. The deck gets Non-skid (gritty kind of paint if you will, to keep the A/C and equipment from sliding) applied differently in certain areas. It also wears out differently as expected. The deck is never one color and will always vary due to maintenance, operations etc.
  19. I'd like to see an update one day, where only the core systems like ATC, weather etc are worked on. I agree, the guts are what is missing and killing immersion. I'm no pilot but I would think that there is way more comms heard in the PG that you can hear on the radio.

    Thanks for sharing that!

    Maps

Taking another look at the map of the region, I'm not seeing where a carrier could get in there. Hmm!

    Maps

Cool. That's interesting, but like you said, highly unlikely. I'd pay money to see it though Lol.

I'm sorry my friend but the US Navy deploys to the Persian Gulf (Northern Arabian Gulf). I've been deployed there. I think you are referring to some back in the day stuff. Dubai is a very nice place! As for Wake Island, it has been used as a stopover for TRANSPAC aircraft. So , it will be useful. I do agree with the what you said about the Caucasus map. There's no way to get a US Carrier in there Lol. Hope this helps.

    Fun times indeed!
  25. Very well said! Kind of like "Play at your own risk"
