All NIMITZ class carriers are going to look the same. Except for the Hull numbers and a few different awards, there's not a lot of going against the grain. The "AB" wings (like the ones under my name) on the Island are designed and painted by the AIR Department guys and you may see some more wings on some Bow's, like the TRUMAN. The ships look great. Could use some more rust but hey!

You are wasting your time brother. For a sim community that ask for immersion and realism in the form of all the bells and whistles, you'll find that most here do not care about real world operations. Even though you've probably worked with it day in/day out, someone will argue to the teeth about what they saw on a test aircraft in a book or magazine. That's why you see 8 AIM-120's and 4 HARMS. Just let them do what they do. All they want is to rack up kills as you said!

I agree. There should be ONE STANDARD. I can dig what was/is. Anything else leads to all these "but what if" loadouts which sounds a lot like that arcade game we all know.

I agree. Steam from the Catapults, the smell of jet exhaust, JP-5 and the ocean. It all comes together. The universe only knows what else I'm leaving out. Can't beat it with a bat bro!

I am having the same issue. I do notice, whenever the F-14 is in close proximity to another jet as in, dogfighting; I have a slide show!

Can you be specific on "sound of the ship"? I can tell you from a Flight Deck prospective, not the cockpit.

Respect to you man. May as well let it go. I've noticed whatever info you have on these forums, people will argue you down even though you've worked with it before for all your adult life. It's amazing how you can be an SME in real life and have someone who's never worked with it tell you different. It's the same song and dance every time something new comes out and it's gotten old. I love all of what ED offers. I just wish ED would get a STANDARD and stick with it!

I had the pleasure of being deployed with VMFA-323 (the squadron in the video) in 2017. Never saw this loadout used. The max AMRAAM used was maybe 6 and that was after the downing of that SU-22. When the cameras are on, it's a different story!

Unfortunately, Seeing some of the post here, I don't think players here care about real world too much. I stopped messing around on the servers. Too many children. That's kind of sad! Is there a virtual squadron that takes things some what seriously? I would love to check them out one day.

I worked with the 35th Fighter Wing in Misawa for 3 years and it was always the standard loadout of 2 HARM. I am glad that ED is sticking to the Operational loadout and not some dream fairytale loadout. Funny how a community that loves realism is always asking for other than! ED please stay consistent.

Did you resolve this? I'm having the same issue.
