The continued success of il2 supports this. Some people want to enjoy flight simming without a few months of study to use systems effectively...i mean, that mastery is rewarding but if youre long on responsibilities and commitments but short on time, the idea of a lengthy flight session may not be feasible. I sometimes go a few weeks because i cant budget an hour or two in one sitting to get a basic flying session in. Some of the esoterica we've come to expect in a dcs module represents perishable skills in some cases even to the RL pilots...even more so to the average joe with plenty of other things competing for what may be the most valuable commodity of all: time I dont think mac is for me, but i can certainly see a niche it can readily fill

I hope this means perhaps nibbylot is in talks with a dev to bring this to full release status, something id gladly pay for. I brought it up on the polychop discord, i think it was, cuz they have an affinity for light helos but someone expressed doubt based on this variant being in service....i dont care what version it is...500d, oh-6..i just wanna don a Hawaiian shirt, slap this livery on it and channel my inner magnum PI

FWIW, i never paid full price for a module- just got a couple each sale till there werent anymore. some i dont fly often, but none do i regret its worth waiting to the next sale and then getting the rest of the helos

Yea, i was gonna suggest LLH as well. Blacksharkden i assume is another good one, both have plenty of folks who can help adam get the most outta any chopper he ends up with

I cant think of a more polarizing module, tho harrier and f16 come close I wont say that either side is entirely right or wrong, it largely comes down to your play style and what you want out of dcs. "Good" is a highly subjective thing Thats partly why i said if you like the other light helo, ull likely enjoy this one As for individual systems, i cant remember. Flight time is kinda hard to come by lately, and im trying to work my way thru all the a10 and mi8 DLCs . If i wanna just blow off some steam, i have a mission with a carrier off lebanon that i use the gazelle to blast some insurgent go-fast boats, escort some hueys to an airfield, fly up and down some valleys at treetop level to take out some bmps and shilkas and then mosey back to the carrier. Its fun...at some point ill make my way back to learning the gaz as well as i have the shark

Thank you, 9L, this thread has been stuck in "how dare you enjoy what i dont like" mode for too long and the haranguing does little good for anyone Initially i couldn't stand the gaz, even tho i wanted to like it. As i learned to tune the axes, it gradually became one of my favorite airframes and certainly one of the most fun to fly ones

Same twilight zone where "If you don't want to buy the Kiowa, don't. I get it." Is a personal attack. I just wish people would enjoy things a bit more

Thats why the Gaz was my first recommendation to adam , over the other helos. Theyre each unique and have their own strengths, but the gazelle is fun in ways the others aren't...especially when high-speed buzzing thru iranian villages at below rooftop level :) My only criticism of it is is doesn't work "out of the box" and for a long time i found it hardly playable, but once you tune the settings just right, its a blast Adam, if you enjoyed the ah-6, youre gonna love the gazelle. Get it next sale

Thats why using a 3 letter abbreviation for the month rather than a two digit number is so useful. 06 09 20 can be read multiple ways, 6sep20...not so much

Yes, the dev is one person. whose native language isnt English, but as i mentioned google-translate is a thing, and he doesn't need to write patch notes entries- ED is capable of doing that after receiving updates from OctoG Not posting notes on updates, even if an update or fix is made, isnt a good approach: it leads to the impression that this is abandonware . Its a great entry, even moreso considering its just one guy..but to release& then have no communication is somewhat disconcerting
