I cant even get lettuce that thin, 3mm MDF - isn't that cardboard? To the OP, whats that jigsaw blade you use? I dont thing i have seen one in out home depo equivalent so i am limited by my jigsaw.

Hegy is active on panels at the moment i think. But I have to say, I was holding out on buying a Warthog as I assume TM would announce something, as they didnt and as much as I dont want to buy from them, I have just bought the Warthog and my hope is Hegy will start producing grips. SDsc0rch - I think its out of order calling in vaporware, only hegy has laid out money on this with CNC and Laser and CAD/CAM and research, whilst I personally think that customization for Warthog sticks would be the best initial investment to get him sales and runs on the board, I also imagine they are bloody complex things to make and design and not to mention the minute he announced it there was the whole steel / 3d printed sh1t spouted off. So with respect, ask him for an update by all means as I am excited about the possibilities too, but from what I have seen from him, calling him vaporware is a bit indigenous and a rude way of trying to incite a response from him which you may or make not like. If you want to talk vaporware, Thrustmasters announcement of a squadron of joysticks is one of the most blatent lies I have seen, I hope a 3rd party will provide update kits and sticks to my new wathog so I dont have to have anything to do with the cumts again.

I use a USB hub without issues - 2 x GP Wiz, 2 x MFD, Head Tracker, Hotas and mini usb keyboard, powered no issues.

Maybe have insurance, or maybe covered by your home and contents insurance, some sort of contract and yeah, credit card deposit. Don't have anything like that here is Aus that I have seen, perhaps I should corner the market but as your post implies, it could be a pretty risky venture! Hey clay, your panel seems to be a solid base to attach the switches to, with holes behind the text. Then you stick a front plate with black and gaps for the font? Is that right because I think if that works, ie, i print a couple of layers of acetate and glue them to a panel it will suit me?

Looks good, just make sure it's sturdy, I made something for my chair and used shelf brackets which we're too small. The thing flexed and it felt awful. Looking at that design, watch out for them sliding when you push the throttle and stick, you could make sure the gap for the slide isn't too big. Also, he made a good point in the vid, make sure you test what height you want them at! Good luck and don't forget to post some finished pictures!

This came up a few years ago, PVC pipe is expensive here in Australia too, some guy on Ebay was selling complete PVC kits with all the pipe cut and the instructions, I compared the prices to those I can buy it at and it was expensive. Regarding overkill its a good point, you could probably cut down a lot screwing the vertical pieces to a solid wood base. Ok probably don't want to go cutting it up then! I looked at those plans but the price of PVC makes them expensive, pity you paid for them but it's done now and what's important is to get you something that works for you and won't rip you off anymore! Nice chair, if you can't mod the cair you could mod the desk? some pits on here use essentially Z shaped (but with a straight vertical) bracket which they clamp to the desk. You could make it from one piece of wood, a few screws and a few clamps?

What chair do you have, couldn't you just add something to that to hold the Hotas?

I would be interested to see what size it could do, imagine if it could image and know its location on a 2400x1200 MDF board to allow one small machine to CNC a whole Flims Pit.

With Helios you can pull up the left and right profiles on the one screen, by pressing a button, might be a better solution or at least a cheaper one for starters? Capt Zeens A-1o profile is awesome.

I don't think you are right (IMO). VR is virtual reality, its image based. Sim Pits are virtual realty (but not VR) physical based. We haven't quite cracked VR in 20 years of trying, CV1 and others are now pushing the boundaries of mode day VR. It will be another generation of VR that will combine physical switches with VR, perhaps like the F-35 helmet. But the f-35 has a glass cockpit so perhaps in future we will be poking a touch screen anyway, which VR can simulate.
