Nice tidy setup, puts me to shame. I like that wall though, post a bigger picture of the room!

I think they should charge for the game engine and focus on that. It's by far the most important thing. Once that is stable they need to focus on sea and land. Leave Aircraft and maybe maps to third parties for a while once 2.5 is stable Whilst working on land and sea environments to release 3.0 with a complete environment.

I think DCS need to focus on 2.5, stop all work on 1.x. No future 1.x aircraft, it's frozen. 2.5 needs to be released stable for 2 years min or with very minor fixes, ones that do not involve major recode of third party aircraft. I have no idea hoe developers can build an aircraft for such an unstable environment. If DCS don't sort that out fast, I don't think it will last.

Hey were you not the guy who built that awesome KA50 pit? I recognize the avatar but not the name -
Probably best running your switch through SDA software (top sticky) or use HELIOS. They will save you having to edit .lua

Controllers (went way off topic and moved)

Perhaps one of the talented panel makers will make something to fit over warthog throttle to give it some F/A-18c customisation? -
If you want it to be moveable and are concerned about the seams, couldn't use Velcro to roll the screen in one piece over all 3 pieces of back board?

Guys I am very late to the party and with over 266 pages I thought I would just ask. Is Normandy DCS 2 based with high resolution, new trees and stuff? I gave up on 1.5 and went to BETA but getting a bit bored with Nevada, is this for beta? Thanks

Just wondering why no one is 'porting' FSim craft to the free DCS World? I think some of the devs are ex FSX but is DCS so much more accurate/more work that we cannot attract some more 3rd party mods? PS. I am in no way criticizing the aircraft available, just thinking if DCS is more accurate, is a free download with paid addons, then actually many of the Flight Simmers would prefer a higher fidelity sim and DCS could take a bigger share of the FSX addon market. Mike said it would be a minority, I dont think so, there are hundreds and thousands of FSX civvy pilots who could be supporting ED to build the DCS World.

I know DCS is Digital Combat Simulator however, in order to perform combat a number of non combatants are required. What is preventing the [insert other sim] addon makers doing study sim level C130 (for example). Do the community ever see non combat craft sims, I know it is not everyone's cup of tea but there are people flying 767s across the Atlantic in some other sims, it would be no different someone getting an AWACS up or a tanker. Or a mission to protect a VIP flying in a BAe 146, I would play the VIP pilot. Another area I was considering was surveillance, which I suppose is another thread. Could the ground modelling of future maps be so good we could perform surveillance with non combat aircraft?

Just the 64Gb of DDR4? Looks really neat, nice!

You have to delete a file in your save game folder, I think it's options.lua. It's not in the game folder it's in you user folder.

Never knew you could buy HDMI to VGA! Every day is a skool day!

Maybe look at the sticky at the top of the page in this forum, Simpit Software from SDA. I am sure Helios still works but I dont use it at the moment as I am living in a tiny ass rental whilst the house is built but I think that has taken up the mantel where Gadroc kindly left it. I am not by this suggesting they are using Helios, i mean software to control simulators.

Are you using a VGA converter and multiple ports on the GPU?
-
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but it is breakout board related. The Nano has pins 1-12, gnd and some other pins. Can you mix the connections to make more inputs i.e. Pin 1 + gnd = Open cockpit Pin 1 + Pin 2 + Gnd = close cockpit Pin 1 + Pin 2 + pin 3 + Gnd = HUD day And so on so one nano has about 77 combinations in dcs

Hegy has gone to ground for a while. We are hoping he is a phoenix or has been snapped up by a manufacturer and wishing him well. -
Upgrade from x52 to Warthog - worth it?
Mr_Burns replied to R1Lawsy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Are you having problems reading or are you trolling? They guy is posting his poor experience of the Warthog, he is not alone and its good to hear the good, bad and ugly when investing in a hotas that is not a bargain basement purchase. -
Thought I would bump this being as though I have just reinstalled Dangerous Waters. Does the DCS engine allow surface and sub surface simulation? Are there any/many differences or is it just a matter of modelling systems to a reverse altitude type scale? I am thinking of sonar, ecs, magnetism etc rather than underwater graphics which are pretty, and pointless. Yes I want P-3 DCS configured for both maritime surveillance and attack and non maritime surveillance.

Nice, what screens are you using?

Upgrade from x52 to Warthog - worth it?
Mr_Burns replied to R1Lawsy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It wouldn't bother me if I went back to my X-52 from the Warthog, sure it's a nice stick and throttle but I liked my x52. I just took it apart to make a cyclic!
