  1. This for me, perhaps pushing it too far to be an DCS Intel Mission Planner module but at least a short movie and story. Building is being used as a safe house by militants attacking nearby UN base. Show Intel of the are, the building, the map, the troops etc. Fly to point X and wait for SF confirmation that enemy combatants are in the building.
  2. Are you able to translate that into something or did you just puke up a Scrabble set?
  3. And rightly too dont you think? If DCS create a constantly evolving World for other sim companies to plug into its awesome, I think the fact they give it away is genius and bonkers!
  4. Kilo subs then a P-3
  5. Aussies are about to retire their non Super Hornets but no plans to sell any, I think the US are demanding short of 2 gate guardians the rest will be buried. Shame, I would love to buy a pit!
  6. I love to see old aircraft parts resurrected! That guy has some neat stuff, imagine the cost of a set of a stage of turbine back in the day and that Nimrod MRA4 Screen probably cost a fortune knowing the project! Nice work Bignewy.
  7. Could be a new MFD with USB LCD - none of these on the market.

    Top Gun 2

Cant Multiquote but SVGamer nailed it for me, son of Goose, son of Ice etc. But TC has a big ego, his ego cashes cheques his body cant afford, I cant imagine him taking a side role although I think it would be very smart, something like that crappy F-16 movie where the guy from Officer and a Gentlemen helped that boy fly a Viper. To meg ryan fans: Meg Ryan ruined herself but I still would.
  9. Far out mate, you can afford those pedals, the extrusion and all that but not a jig saw to make those cutouts? Damn I would send you mine if i were still living in the UK just too much postage from Australia. You pit looks like a great start, love the foldaway design, the way you have designed it, your metalwork. Look forward to seeing the progress.
  10. Turn on DCS quick start Reaper UAV Sit back and watch Reaper fly mission Get on $400 Hotas to land reaper
  11. I think that the Air to Ground model probably needs some attention which probably comes with the Hornet. Once they release that, the Third Parties can use the model to create other aircraft whilst funding ED to focus on an A2G model, short of A2A, I think DCS WW2 needs a focus on bombing, once we got air superiority it was all about pounding cities!
  12. His website is gone too, l hope he is well. I think it would be good if mods can lock this thread until if/when he returns as it is pointless without him except as a breeding ground of hostility towards someone who may be very ill or had some other unfortunate circumstances forced upon him.
  13. Well in some cases it will work but not for switches with say 3 functions, just for example the autopilot on the A-10 is UP = Path MIDDLE = Alt.Hdg and DOWN = Alt You cant do that with any switch without using Helios or similar or a Arduina AFAIK. I also dont know which switches you need to simulate you could do it if all Mirage switches are only two functions. I sense you think Helios or similar are hard to use? Mate, I am like a dinosaur with Alzheimers, I just type LUA because the nice folk on here tell you what to type and what you are doing wrong but 4 months later its like groundhog day in my head and a quick search has all the answers. Helios is not even LUA programming, you just follow instructions and it works and everyone here will help you to get the instructions right. Also, being able to use on/off switches and recognizing off as a state means you can use less inputs on your board. Helios says (for example) if master arm isnt armed its off, with your proposal you need two inputs, an input for on and and input for off. On-On Switches possible cost more and you need more twice as many inputs on your boards.
  14. Leo boards will be OK if you use Helios or perhaps the software mentioned at the top of the cockpit builders (SDA I think). Without it, the bodner type boards don't know when your switch is off as off isn't a signal. It sounds like you need to design your front panel around a monitor so you can export all the cockpit displays, again SDA or Helios is the program you need. No programming needed, just some minor .lua edits.
  15. Its the same as every technology, you would never buy a car or a phone or a tv or a PC if you waited. The technology is advancing so you need to bite the bullet at some point. Most people on here should be experts in tech investments being as though you need to keep your eye on PC hardware to run this sim and that gets updated 3 times a year! I am in the process of selling a house whilst building a new one and renting one, similar to 3 mortgages so a new PC and Rift are just out of the question, but when the house sells, if there is no change in the market I will be going in for a Occulus as I only play FPS and Sims (and strategy games which still need a monitor). Whilst a full room setup will be a future buy for the 'movie room' I still need to have my own for my time. This thread doesnt need to get into a 'what the future holds' argument, it just informs people of the status of VR to make their own minds up.
  16. Is it worth getting a DK1 in the interim of saving for a CV1 - I can get on for under $170 whilst the CV1 are $1700.
  17. I was looking for those stores jettison switches, one of the guys at hornet pits.org suggested making my own, perhaps even they struggle. I'm going to make my own so if you find a source please post back.
  18. Thats what i am trying mate, i cant seem to mill/pocket/cut anything to 3mm even though its 3mm plexi it still goes into the bed....got the bed flat thanks to expensive pine but its being cut into every panel!
  19. Problem is if the uneven beds are not a fault of the CNC alignment then it can change. E.G. if its moisture because the bed isnt secured, you might have to even it every time you cut. The other thing, depending on your machine, if its your X and Y rails that perhaps bow it wont solve it. That aside, it sounds like a good idea for levelling the bed if everything else remains the same. PS. I am certainly no pro on this, just my thoughts.
  20. Hansangb agree with the above, Metal n Wood put me onto double sided tape, I use the stuff that sticks carpet tiles down. I also found my bed (which was MDF) was uneven depending on where I had screwed it down, changed to a piece of pine shelving which seems to hold its flat uniformity.
  21. You dont need confirmed respect from me, I am not even at the same level as you and most of the guys on here, I would call myself a parasite based on the knowledge you have and many others. I might have felt you ate parasites....sorry about that.
  22. Life is too short and I enjoy this forum, I certainly do not dislike anyone and I certainly respect those that post on here and help out and sometime I get grouchy at the mean pixels.
  23. Apparently they go quicker and quicker each year, something to do with the more years you live, the shorter 365 days are relative to your life.
  24. Done!
  25. Guys, I look at your Arduino and cant work out what to buy, take example the video it has an arduino mini and a USB adaptor... Do you know if there is a schematic and alternative parts depending on what available in Australia?
