  1. Mate if you have the cash I personally wouldn't go DIY CNC, the brief euphoria of writing your name is gone with what I am finding to be tolerance issues and repeatability. Metal n wood made a very accurate DIY CNC but I am not as talented as him, a millimetre here and there cannot be hidden by glue, paint and filler and I can't measure cut and drill to a mili meter! I will continue to try though as I just cannot justify a CNC to the boss! If I bit the bullet a year ago, I would be on my second pit!
  2. Well it looks great! Do you have a jig saw too? Is the router better than that for what we are trying to acheive?
  3. Its nice, problem I have is the Dremel doesnt have bits like that, Im not hung on the Dremel though, I could easily bolt on a router motor instead, I might look at this. How did you paint the small letters, steady hand and small brush, did you use model paint? Im thinking I will have to do that on the yellow hatched areas of panels.
  4. Its great mate,, looks comfy and I love the construction and the sides, wish I was half as good at woodwork than you obviously are!
  5. Thanks John, I only used acrylic as it is all my local homewares store sells, thought I would try that and stock bits but if that is probably the issue I will buy a few decent products to try and make up for a DIY solution with a poor router. If a real ngraver is 0.01 then I think I can see easily why I am immediately off the mark by a long shot!
  6. Guys I rebuilt my CNC beast, wonder if you can assist. This is a test panel I engraved using Aspire and Mach 3: and this was the Aspire page: and this was the Dremel bit: Dremel 125 6.4mm Point Tip High Speed Cutter I also tried it as 25 degrees. Problem you can see, its just too big a cut for the detail needed. Am going to keep trying but any pointers would help! Thanks.
  7. I love it, nice work!
  8. Dont forget the mirrors!
  9. How do you think the UFC will be and entering in the 9 lines and weapons information? Do you get any external vision from VR or are your eyes totally encased? Nice setup btw!
  10. You have come a long way mate! Very nice.
  11. Im just talking to my local sign maker, they laser print labels based on a opaque white with a black surface that is etched away in one pass to reveal the white, they are thin and adhesive. Might be able to stick them on an acrylic base... It could cover a multitude of DIY hand tool errors!
  12. Got to be careful of your IP too, watch out for people stealing your ideas and monetising them under your nose (not intended to suggest anything about sgt_baker and his awesome work).
  13. Any possibility of explaining it to someone with no idea what it s, what are its benefits and what you mean in your posts? Please.
  14. That is gorgeous Warhog, a really neat looking piece of engineering. Soo jealous :-)
  15. Just been reading about this, no computer existed to manage it, faxed copies of target photos, managing multiple aircraft and intelligence....do you send a F117 with a Raven or save the Ravns to protect the F-16..... I can post the link, it's eye opening!
  16. Good points, I was thinking when I first looked at the store it seemed much bigger but a few millimetres is fine. Good idea on the test page, I also have a sketch up model I can try and print. Thanks
  17. Why is there not a thread on this module, even the Facebook page is quiet? Is the A2G radar working? Any status on systems? Updated possible release date? Has the module been pulled?
  18. I have joined hornetpits.org and plan on building my first full simpit. Its going to be a long time in the making I think as I also have to get a house built in the next year or so. Anyway, I got the NATOPS manual and printed the LDG Panel at 400% which seems builders are saying is 'in the ball park'. Its going to be a long drag, I dont move fast! Please can someone help me get started? So my first attempt I zoomed the pdf to 400%, focused on the area and hit print. But I seem to be quite a magnitude off a close match: Original? Its an inch which is 25mm approx My 400% print: Mine is 50mm out. Massive difference, before I have started I have failed!! Is this likely pdf printing to a epsom desktop printer or am I approaching this wrong? I have very limited access to a full size plotter printer but want to make sure I get it right before I ask the draftsmen for favours! Thanks.
  19. That is a nice looking CNC. I can't get his shop to load on this iPad, what would a kit cost?
  20. Might replace that stupid mouse slew control on the thrustmaster throttle...why oh why.
  21. Downloading.....
  22. Looks good, cant wait to get on line and have a play! Nice looking screens! Did you say you can export the 7 segment displays to show on a second screen?
  23. I would imagine he just got sick of being bashed. With Chichlid and watching with anticipation!
  24. What does the twist do? As you increase the collective the tail steps out so you increase the throttle to balance it??
  25. Finished...mwahahahaha, you have only just begun I guarantee it :-). Nice! What are the monitors and is it a custom stand?
