Cheap & Easy DIY Panels on Android & iOS
Mr_Burns replied to zbmtwo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have the PC on CAT5 to the router and the iPad wirelessly to the router, but I am a spazz with IT and couldn't work it out. Looks like a nice program I could use for a few sims, but maybe not KSP. -
Lynx Cockpit Utility Brick "Button box"
Mr_Burns replied to LynxDK's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well done Lynx, I am really happy you made it to production. Wish you all the best! -
Maybe it is your cold online persona, its 32 Celsius here today but I had to wear a ski suit, gloves and hat to post here. Your signature and posts read as angry and arrogant so it doesn't surprise me you get the 'cold' shoulder. I have never understood you so take my comments as you see fit, I always felt you had a lot to offer but you seem to get real personal and passionate about folk selling stuff when you don't sell stuff. Its up to the buyer to make themselves familiar with what they are buying, unless you nail your colors to the mast and state "It is my intention to sell a precise set of A-10C cockpit panel plans that could fit 1:1 with their Military Specification counterparts" then what is the point of your sig block if it isnt trolling? I dont expect this post to be up for long but trust me, there are many thinking this.

Any pictures on a 'simple' motion seat setup? Those motors, are they steppers? -
Just to be sure - No new JackBauer X52 profile?
Mr_Burns replied to olemetry's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have attached it mate but not sure if it will work, once you unplug the X52 and plug in a new stick the X52 disappears from the profile and I have re-saved it since. Hopefully it will be there when you plug in the X52 but if not, hopefully someone else will have one. Good luck! Is the Bauer profile through the Saitek software? I didnt like that software. dave.diff.lua -
Just to be sure - No new JackBauer X52 profile?
Mr_Burns replied to olemetry's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I finally got a warthog so the X-52 is becoming a collective. Never bothered with the Bauer one after a while and just programmed my own directly into the controls in DCS. Using the pinky on the stick as a multiplier I got TMS on top hat, counter measures on top hat plus pinky, Dms on bottom hat and trim on bottom plus pinky. China hat forward on the button under the top hat and China back with pinky. Fire plus pinky as wheel breaks. Gear, flaps and air brake on the toggles. Slew on the throttle hat and countermeasures on that plus pinky. Use the button in the triangle to cycle guns,Nav,ccrp, ccip. Boat switch on the LCD. If you aren't using track ir and using the bottom hat to look around, put the trim as keyboard arrows plus pinky and then set the UFC or CDU buttons as keyboard plus pinky. -
F-18 grip, WARTHOG compatible
Mr_Burns replied to hegykc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I disagree, you can use your keyboard, the pinky as a multiplier and the MFD as a perfect CDU, the panel below it that changes steer point to way point, (required for 9 line) and the (Cmsp?) the counter measures at the top are the two I needed, I made my own waypoint one but havnt had the confidence to do lcd's. -
Are they wood or Aluminium? Looks like you will some exterior clamps to hold the together and did the guy you bought them off say what kind of material they are designed for? I want an F-18 pit so will be watching! Good luck guys.

Flaps and Landing gear solutions
Mr_Burns replied to ebabil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Mate, by the time you have followed a few threads you will have learned a new talent, take a look in the home cockpit thread, tigershark has a sticky, it's simple. I haven't tried Arduino yet, have you any old USB joysticks knocking about? -
THE TFRP RUDDER–Thrustmaster Flight Rudder Pedals
Mr_Burns replied to Niko's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
With the width of pedals, could they may your knees higher to closer they are together? I have a low desk and can just use Saitek ones, if my knees were together I am sure they would hit the desk? -
Struggling to remember the first Battlefield Vietnam where your hueys could airlift an M113 and the pilots had to carry all the troops into action. You could take over artillery and it had a fantastic soundtrack, engineers could dig spawn points and plant punji sticks... Also, what were the aircraft that you could strafe the soldiers running from one island to another? I know they released a later one that was pants, but I would love to play it again if it had bots.

There doesn't look to be anywhere where flex woul be an issue. The vert sections won't flex and a quick look appears any weight is. Transferred directly to a vertical tube.

F-18 grip, WARTHOG compatible
Mr_Burns replied to hegykc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Having never flown a fighter I find the Warthog just fine, in fact awesome. I would suggest a poll to see if I am in the top 95% of Warthog owners, somehow, because I trully dont get half of the issues here. Make A simple clip on for the slew on the throttle! -
TM warthog: the worst gimbal in history
Mr_Burns replied to bkthunder's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I took my X52 (none pro) and loved the way the gimbals were made and the hall sensors worked. Had it for over 7 years and took it apart last weekend to turn it into a helo throttle, still greased and no wear even on the cheap plastic. Haven't even looked in the warthog yet, it's only 2 months old and works gorgeous except for the sensor slew which I had to remap to the mic switch, that slew looked like the mouse controller on the X52, is that really in the A-10? -

Opentrack track clip with fixed ir led
Mr_Burns replied to aap_flanker's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
SO you dont need any capacitors for the LEDs? Im sick on my track clip getting freaked out and all of a sudden my view is reversed I want an LED version. Last time it freaked out I was about to AIM-9 a Mig, luckily I kept in the turn and got the tone and the kill.... Sorry just re-read you ingredients list - how do you work out what resistors you need if using a usb power supply? Also, does it improve tracking if you make the LEDs further apart or closer together? eg if it were like devrims say a 1 inch arm compared to a 4 inch arm... -
Not too bothered about a dynamic traffic - but really, how hard is it to have a persistent battlefield, a set number of red vs blue plus reserves, and a pilot or 10 personality check? I think DCS is missing something major on the base model (ps. I also thing DCS shoud cost so maybe $20 if you want it affordable). Single player dynamic campaighn - ps, dynamic istn defined so a diminishing squad of A-10 pilots and aircraft is dynamic. Comeon ED - either do it, or outsource it. There are numerous dynamics....let it go.

Unless Im mistaken Matt only said you would know more in 2-3 weeks, not be able to use it?
-
Soooo, any update on the DCS 1.5 and 2 merge??

Very nice, very nice, I like them a lot.

Adding extra monitors as MFCD's
Mr_Burns replied to seastate's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I don't think monitors come that small, what is your motherboard, if you have the cash a lot of people on here have used lilliputs and I haven't heard a bad thing? -
Adding extra monitors as MFCD's
Mr_Burns replied to seastate's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I might be speaking out of line but I bought a USB screen which required USB 3 - the USB 3 on my MOBO was one of the first i7 2600k and it doesn't run USB monitors. The wife's newer i5 runs like a charm. I would recommend a cheap HDMI 17" monitor for both, doesn't really matter if it's to the left or right like the cockpit, you can also put some Helios on there! Also, you can make the MFDC bigger if your not using MFD bezels! No more squinting at 7" MFD.
