Not sure anyone is arguing the “use of chocks”. I just wonder if anything other than “apply chocks”. Or “remove chocks” is necessary. Why waste time or computer power animating a cartoon figure going under the plane? But only my opinion. Others have their own opinions I guess.

Its just a different animal is all. When my doctor put me in bi focals, it used to drive me nuts. Once I “conditioned myself “ to “point with my nose” at the object you want to see, it was a great improvement over a separate pair of “readers “. same I suspect with track IR. Move head left, rotate eyes right. Unnatural, but after a while second nature. You will however never have as sharp a picture with VR. Not currently anyway so you just have to accept that. Thanks

Hmmm. I have to turn off my radio because of the continuous loop atc gets into “delta 123, clear to taxi. Delta 123 clear to taxi.” Sometimes all the way to the target and back. you sure you want that from everyone? (Or at least my radio if I’m the only one who cant seem to make it stop). seriously tho, some form of chatter adds to the realism !

Why stop there?? F1- wake crew F2- jump out of bed and take a piss F3- shower F4- Dress F5- head to chow hall F6- up to flight deck F7- get briefing from person your replacing F8- say good morning to crew chief ... Lalt/shift/space/esc/F12- grasp rope on chocks, left wheel... Just some examples Of what needs to be added for realism and immersion.... I get it, “not airquake” but to what end with all the non essential monkey biz?

I agree. The reason people “cheat” it makes them feel like other people look at their score and say Wow!!! Get rid of scores, gets rid of cheaters. They will get bored and crawl back to their penthouse magazine.

Fwiw, reading through many upgrade posts seems like you need to skip the 3080 and do the 3090 as it seems to be the Vram that is making the improvements in DCS anyway. many of the 3080 threads with DCS seem meh.... i have my cash ready, just need to find one

Can’t speak to all the technical mumbo jumbo but fired 5 hit 5 aim54 today multi player and maybe had 10% hit ratio prior(against ai targets I believe). on the other hand, couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with the side winders in just dogfight server and usually have very good luck. butt meter observation I know but telling for a hack pilot like me....

In any event, pretty sharp group of folks here, I can’t imagine they have missed any potential candidates yet as a group we have ruled them all out so its either one already mentioned or a prank.....

Was it a model of weapon that was not allowed on the server? I ran into an issue where I couldn’t fire my Phoenix missles and it turned out that the variant I had was banned. Some of the servers put you in the death spiral and you crash if loaded illegally but others seem to just keep em on the rail??!

I’m still guessing either an Intruder, phantom, corsair Or crusader. I know everY one of these has been discussed and the pros, cons of each based on the original context post. That said, the programers stepped out of this conversation a long time ago and all of our “conclusions “ seem to be based more on each other’s past posts than anything official. All the above are high demand type aircraft. (No plane will ever be 100% for everyone). Period correct given where we seem to be map wise. Each brings something pretty “mind melting” to the sim be it side by side multiplayer of the A-6 and wild weasel capabilities, Phantom with some new form of multiplayer functionality that may be far superior to the jester setup, Crusader and corsair a bit more “standard” but certainly higher demand, period correct and opens door for a Vietnam area of operations. Or they could just be laughing at us.....

With the currently available maps, carrier capability(at least the option of) seems like a No brainer if not a must but I know the drill, everyone has their thing and such.

I like the analog stuff. I have the F-5, F14 and F18 and virtually never put up the f18 because It flies itself (in my mind, don’t get offended). it just takes no effort to flip around. First time I pulled and ripped the wings off the f14 Inwas hooked. AGAIN. That doesn’t mean I’m a stone cold killer in the F18, can’t even use the radar but it just doesn’t feel to me like Im flying. F4 would be hot.....

Don’t get hung up on that particular verbiage. as far as front back vs side by side multi crew. In the F14 unless your outside looking in, you never see, only hear jester so a desynch wouldn’t be nearly as obvious as looking to your right while actually in the cockpit. Seems like a totally different animal to tame but what do I know....

I guess where I was going with it. And obviously not so eloquently is that everything on DCS has a cost of processing power. Perfectly simulated real world is a very admirable goal, no doubt. But as you go back, there were literally page After page of posts how the super Carrier, for example wasn’t going to effect performance but we all know that it did. Why? Not Because of some gaff, poor programming or unexpected leak but because it is another function that needs to be processed. so returning to my original intent. Lets get the DCS world functionality to its peak THEN start DCS universe. Not a slam. Just an opinion. unless of course the stars being exactly correct are more than just a visual nicety,, thats all. Enjoy!

And I am honestly trying to stop being A negative nancy myself so my apologies but there is reality and then there is just senseless. The stars are close, unless your mission is to land on the planet nectar really get over it. If just 1/3 of the senseless picking stopped (myself no exception) this maybe wouldn’t be so toxic.
