  1. Not so sure, I'm hoping for a late 2023 release. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  2. They will never fix all the bugs because in cases like this there are no bugs to fix, just never ending tuning of made up assumptions of what the effect of jamming should be on modern ARHs like the aim120, and no one knows for sure, not even Raytheon engineers cause they have not tested it in wars against other nation jammers, not at least in any meaningful sample. We just need to arrive to a state where all parties feels missiles are behaving "good enough" whatever that means. So I feel sorry for ED on this cause I don't see how to make everyone happy Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  3. You are missing so much if you have never tried the A10C/F18/F16C/AH64 hell even the Jf17 is wonderfully made. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  4. Following the same logic the US navy will tell you they have the king of SEAD in the form of the EA18G growler. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  5. +1 I would love to see some kind of war room/battle ops center (aka improved f10 map) where you could see realistic information you would know IRL like: -battlefront -Points of known enemy position or last received fire -remaining longs range enemy IADS infrastructure.... and ofc being able to click on an AB to pick and aircraft, the current scrolling system is very outdated, unfriendly and it does not go smoothly at all. So many time I join a slot just to know that the particular AB I have selected has no additional fuel... something I should know from the beginning. All of the above is not intended to tilt towards a war thunder kind of style, but to improve the realism more similar to that other simulator where you see ATOs, awacs and tankers routes, etc.... and even let's you make some basic planning like selecting weapons and a basic flight plan, that would also be a breath of fresh air for FC3 aircraft that have no option to create way points in MP Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

    F-16EX

I saw in a red kite review that the screws are in the same position as the warthog so it's compatible with warthog deskmounts :) Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

    F-16EX

I just ordered the F16ex with the Orion 2 base. Does anyone one know if the screws on the base are in the same place as the warthog one? I am using a virpil desk mount with the warthog joystick adapter and I don't know if it will be fine with the new base or if I need an adapter. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

  10. Thanks for the answer MARLAN_, hopefully someone from ED will provide insights as how it works within the realm of the game.
  11. Another tip I use is to change the IR from the black hot to white hot, this normally makes the bright zone (the whole image sometimes like in your image) black so you can see again the simbology. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk EDIT: As a reference I leave here a real video of the litening at 41:40, you can see there how effectively the simbology is indeed washed out against the background when in FLIR white hot mode
  12. What is exactly the improvement? It's not obvious to me, I would thank a further explanation. Specially looking to know how should I interact with NORM/Wide in the data subpage to better detect beaming or slow target. Thanks in advance. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  13. For the limited MP time I had yesterday I feel it's a tiny bit better, I feel it again as it was on 2.7 at least of my end, also tested some SP mission to confirm fps were better. Mind you I have not tested shadows or global illumination cause that was killing my frames in previous patches and I can live without it. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  14. Also, how is important if it gets through armor (which I really think it does), the important thing is that all electronic equipment and even missiles launchers will have nice little holes as if a gigantic shotgun just fired on them, for sure it will not be operative anymore with a close hit, even less with a direct one. 15. Is the patch still expected today?

  17. But shouldn't we have a TPOD search function through the AZ/EL display? As far as i know the flir in the hornet can work as a mini IRST looking for targets and showing them on the AZ/EL, totally missing now in DCS F18 hornet
  18. Yes.... XD I have from the top of my head: UH1, Mig19 F1 Mig15 F86 C101 Spitfire Fw109D In all those I must have a combined 5/6 hours of flying at best, although to be fair the F86/mig 15 i dont fly because of ED, as no DC and no contemporary units make them stale, and WWII aircraft is kind of the same history. I can see myself flying the F86/Mig15 and WWII planes a lot if a proper DC or more content become real... or at least if I find more servers that I like with those planes Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  19. Even if multicore is great and the use of more cores improve performance, there will be times when single core performance will help, if I were you I would go 5800x3d, in the end is as good as you can go without changing the motherboard (latest AM4 upgrade for gaming). 20. It is off topic indeed but it is an amazing debate for me(Meteor and aim120 D design principles and strength), So if I get this right the meteor design makes it really good at following receding targets and perhaps at low to medium altitudes, as well as keeping high terminal speed for the end game. As a trade off it is actually slower in a high altitude engament versus a traditional rocket/lofting design like the aim120D is that right? On the other hand, the possibility to stop the engine and reignite later seems awesome if coupled with a data link and advance algorithms...Would it be possible to for example make it like pitch up and turn off the engine to wait for a target behind a mountain to several seconds later reignite to gain speed again once it has popped up? I might very well reading too much into this as to make it something useful tactically EDIT: Just found this interesting article answering some of my questions, just in case is interesting to anyone https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/4678/is-the-european-meteor-air-to-air-missile-really-the-best-in-the-world Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  21. Nahen you are making some ridiculous claims, sorry: -Everyone in here is talking about RL performance, which it should also apply in a Simulator like DCS (although things like radar and EW will not apply, but yes basic dynamics like speed, acceleration... -I really don't know where have you get the idea that operationally or even in DCS you will be shooting missiles at over Mach 2. You need like 10 minutes and all your fuel to get to that speed, also an specific climb profile. Not very useful to just launch one missile and go home. You basicaly are taking a super specific use case as the norm. What if you are Caping an area, in a HVA CAP, in a fighter sweep, in a DCA? in any of those scenario you will not have an option to commit from 150nm away to give you the time you need for your M2.0 shots....let alone M2.5 which is no possible with missiles and pylons -As a prove to this in the 104 kills of the mighty eagle non of them have been even close to that speed. Heck if the Israelis would go to that speed with the eagle they would end up in Egipt XD -Acceleration is key in Bvr, really. More so than maneuverability. Top speed is not so important if not tactically applicable. Would you take a mig31 over an F15 for Bvr just because it's faster? don't you see a flaw in that logic? The US Air force could very well start reassembling SR71 and given them Aim120s. -Maneuverability is important, to a certain degree, for the same principle I would take an F15 over a Mig31 I want something able to turn, at the end you either will run out of missiles or someone will slip through and meet you WVR. Or you had in mind an scenary where if Bvr goes wrong you ask to stop and start over? :/ -You are saying than in the context of DCS the F16 is not good in Bvr? Or now you are talking of RL? °_° Happy to meet for a Bvr fight anytime btw ;) Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  22. It seems to me, you are not very acquainted to how a tactical scenario of any real use in RL works. As you rightly point out speed in Bvr combat is key, first it gives your missile additional range and second it will make your life easier when defending in a agressive slice maneuver increasing the F-pole and reducing your enemy one. But having said that, there is no possible scenario where a fighter like an F15 will have time and range to accelerate to something remotely close to M2.3, less so with a full missile loadout. Actually getting to M1.5/M1.7 for an amraam shot with a normal CAP loadout is already massive, and difficult to achieve. With that in mind, the fighter that better accelerate to that launching speed will have an edge. According to pilots, the eurofighter goes from m0.9 (normal CAP speed) to M1.5 with ease and second only to a Raptor. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  23. This is quite wrong, the ef2000 has massive acceleration up to M1.8, if I'm not wrong superior to the F15. On top of that, which is much better it has a confirmed supercruise of M1.2something (this is from memory I need to retrieve the info) with an Air to air loadout (4 MRM + 2SRM) and tanks, which is massive for the air superiority role. Also much better frontal RCS and one of the best mechanical radar it exist so they will both detect each other at a considerable distance. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  24. I love that low drag single 120 pylons swiss hornets have, it has to be awesome, IIRC those hornet are special ones with no foldable wings and allowed to 9g. Those things must be monsters in close air combat. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk
  25. Right now multithreading is the most expected item for me in DCS. Since I can wholly enjoy it with good graphics except in multi-player where everything slows down. If only the optimization is so good to keep MP at the same level of SP it would be awesome, maybe I could even crank graphics higher if the Cpu can better handle graphics calls with this re-architecture.
