Is it possible to use a "latch" mode for the laser similar to A10c or viper/hornet style? Where a single press turn lasing on and off? Or is that not a thing in the AH64D? Thanks! Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

Can we expect any new features in the future?

Has the Mistral Missile been nerfed?
falcon_120 replied to Silversmith's topic in Polychop-Simulations
And sometimes you are just encountering a bug, caused by other changes in this ever evolving sim. In this case and if only happens in MP, this could be one. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk -
F-16C vs F/A-18C for BVR & AA in general
falcon_120 replied to El buscador de la verdad's topic in Chit-Chat
I am quite sure he is not saying "higher skill gap" over how many buttons your are clicking, he is talking about how tactically employ the hornet with its sensor functionality it can provide to be as effective or more (to the viper). On the other hand, the hornet is totally HOTAS for me in A2A. Which buttons do you need to click in the MFD? And lastly, how on earth are you flying a hornet (if u do) without trim mapped? :/ Is the most absurd thing I've seen here? Are you constantly holding your stick to one side after dropping any ordnance? Even a amraam will make you roll a bit to one side, a gbu 10 needs ton of trim or even a harm will require quite of it... Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk -
I really think ED is putting effort into creating a DC. However that takes time. Remember how other long announced ED items took more than expected (A2G radar, Flir overhaul that it's seems is coming in March, new clouds...) and some other has not made it yet (New ATC comms, vulkan...) Given ED size and the complexity of everything they are doing, is no surprise to me that plans take around 1 or 2 years more over the original plan. I think for the DC 2023 will be the year, hopefully.... Its actually the most expected item for me, along with multithreading/vulkan to let my aging gpu hold a bit longer. Also I am totally fine with DC being a module you need to pay for. As I see it takes more effort or similar effort to a FF module. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

It will be better in a complex bvr scenario just because of it being high fidelity and thus implementing link 16. The major problem the current F15c now has is how prone to ambushes and flankers it is, not receiving the whole picture as the rest of planes do (f16, f18, jf17, su27...) it's too easy to loose bvr timings, MAR's etc and getting killed. With L16 it would be the best air superiority fighter in the game (except for the eurofighter). Also the radar will be probably more capable. This alone should let you be more effective even when you will be inferior in a kinematics/acceleration perspective. I'm bfm a SE is objectively inferior to a F15c, but nothing so crazy that cannot be compensated by a better pilot. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

How does it compare DCE versus liberation? Any of them is a clear winner or there are cons and pros? Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

reported MICA missiles are only a shadow of what they should be
falcon_120 replied to Mad_Shell's topic in Weapon Bugs
They didn't officially confirm it, but they said something like "it's a strong possibility for the future". Someone will share the specific quote (I think it was from Ron Zambrano) Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk -
The hornet is perfectly capable of doing just A2G without any escort. If you are in a very contested airspace the hornet has standoff weapons like the AGM84E slammer that can be launched form almost 80nm away and let you turn back to later use that nasty datalink pod to guide it to the target. You could also launch harms at air defenses from 60nm, lob JDAM from 30nm... all of that while being totally silent just watching the air battle in the datalink and going in the moment you see a hole in the enemy CAP. So basically, the hornet its still totally capable of just A2G without almost no A2A involved (or just the very basic lob a amraan 40 nm away to keep the enemy fighter busy for a while).

falcon_120 replied to Mad_Shell's topic in Weapon Bugs
Mica is low priority until razbam goes on with the mirage 2000-5. ED already said that they will revisit all missiles iteratively, but there are higher priorities like the R27s, R77 and in general all weapons used by flyable aircrafts... Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk -
LCtrl + LShift + Tab to open VoiceChat Menu not working for me :-(
falcon_120 replied to Hotstepper's topic in Voice Chat
EDIT: NVM Found it on the server description tab!! How do i know if a server has voice chat activated? I tried today GS server and also blueflag and the Voice chat overlay was not popping up for me (voice chat option is enabled in settings). -

To add to that. Razbam had made a great job lately of improving both the harrier and the M2000C. I'm sure they will do more if things are still unfinished. But all in all not too much to complain about, give them time.

Mission 9 : AGM65D laser guided by JTAC ?!
falcon_120 replied to Falken2's topic in F-16C Red Flag 21-1 Campaign
Jtac can lase for you when you use Laser guided mavericks, like the Agm65k or other variants. The procedure is different, not too much though, that when you use your TPOD to self lase. So basically, instead of finding a target in your TPOD and lasing, when a Jtac or other aircraft is involved you just need to look towards the rough area of the target, and uncage your maverick, if the laser is in the correct freq (the one your maverick is tuned to) and looking to the approximate direction of the laser, it will find it, you will get all the normal simbology and you will be able to shoot. Additionally to this, your TPOD is a great tool to find lasers from Jtac, there is a mode called LSS (laser spot tracker) that basically executes a search pattern around the area where you are looking with your TPOD. Cant remember how to activate it in the F16 (is the uncage button in the F18). The coordinates that you don't understand are probably in MGRS format, for which you cannot input it in your F16, but you can directly use them in the A10 or F18. Big fan of EA as some other posters. These are my perfect EA level: Flight model in a decent state (90%) but to be improved; its impossible to have a finish one on release not even Heatblur has managed that Basic A2A radar modes, at least RWS and TWS. More specific modes to come later A2A weaponry including AIM9s (M a Xs), Aim7s, AIm120 Almost Full navigation cappabilities; meaning flight plan creation, waypoints creation... I can live with markpoints coming later Flight systems (AAR, basic damage model) Countermeasures at basic level: Manual Chaff/flares, semiauto mode. I can wait for Auto as i never use it in any plane being a waste of CMS External model and internal model complete Basic JHMCS functionality (at least aim9x cuieng), A2G coming later Basic datalink; full MSI to come later is ok IF working Dumb bombs and rockets Laser guided bombs FLIR basic functionality, special modes (A2A, MGRS... coming later)

In essence yes, but you need to consider that FC3 comes from a time where DCS as we have it now was not even imaginable. So many changes and progress up to this day. In the times of FC3 it was a game, rather than a simulator like DCS is. It was a good damn game so good that you can perfectly operate now still with those planes. But the whole balance thing was part of the spirit and it was a tradeoff to be able to release a game with 8 flyable planes, which at the time was massive. You had to cut down certain features in order to make it viable. Not including the datalink in that moments seemed like the better decision.

I'm excited about the video, but more excited still to read a newsletter explaining the roadmap and plans for 2022 and beyond. So many topics: Vulkan, DC, VR focus, new projects, full world map some day... Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

+1 the lack of confirmation on this from ED is a pity. I would be happy with just friendly aircrafts on the Tad when there is a gateway (E3) in the mission. Multi-player I mean. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

Basically this. But just to add to that. A hornet with 10 Amraams is a stupid configuration for Air superiority. Take 6 amraams + 2 aim9x with a centerline, and take out the not used wing pylons (they can be removed and drag is greatly reduced) and in a moment you get a hornet able to go reach M1.2/M1.3 with 6 missiles + 2 heaters. Still better, when you are down to 2 Aim120 + 2 Aim9x if you drop your centerline tank and the double rack of the wings, the hornet is incredibly capable to reach M1.6/M1.7 and destroy with 2 amraams. It turns out that a hornet with the last remaining amraams can be more deadly than 2 hornets loaded to the teeth with 20 amraams, and I can tell you that by experience. I can't count how many times i've killed F16/JF17 in a PVP server that were not expecting a hornet at angles 40 M1.6 launching a amraam at 25 nm ish. In esence BVR in a game like DCS without proper EW is about speed and SA, where the F16 excels.

Track please, so we can check. Most probably it is that the elevation was not managed properly. Also consider that if you are flying at roughly the very same speed, you might not see him on radar due to the main lobe filter that discard targets without closing or receding speeds used to avoid the ground clutter.

No patch yet, i'm forcing the update like crazy but it keep saying "The installed version x.x.x.xxxx is up to date"

We are supposed to receive a patch today if testing goes well...
