Strange IIRC the bit of warping was an issue very early on that got resolved I thought through some updates. Can't say I see any of that. Yeah vertical FOV is pretty small , I got used to it fairly quickly though and am able to fit my headset where the edge is not so prevalent. In short, does not bother me. Suggest if you are not get on Varjo's Discord. Plenty of very knowledgeable guys that are always glad to help, including a Varjo tech guy. You will get probably more and faster help there. I know edmuss is on there as well.

Haven't touched mine in several weeks, I just launch and fly. Of course once I got all tweaking I wanted done, now I just fly. Usually every day for a few hours though I admit I have taken a break these last few days mainly due to health reasons.

Fixed that for ya...

That info is not entirely true today. Open XR yields better performance than Steam VR in most cases even with WMR not in the picture.
-
Fyi - that has been asked for since the original Link Beta back with the original Quest.

DCS-MT has started to improve that and hopefully more will come as they tweak it. Also eye tracked dynamic foveated rendering is really going a long way in helping that. Progress is being made albeit very slowly. More headsets need to integrate the eye tracking tech as well. It is very slow getting there but is improving.

Binding mouse buttons to joystick has always worked very well for me. I do not anymore since getting Point CTRL but had no real complaints using buttons.

Is there any immersive way to interact with the cockpit?
dburne replied to dlder's topic in Virtual Reality
I absolutely love my Point CTRL and use it all the time. I do not fly without it. But yeah getting one currently is problematic, going to take a long while. -
Why Open Composite when DCS supports Open XR natively now?
-
Man they just started selling these things, surely they planned a little better than that?

Hey gotta do what makes you happy. There are some really nice headsets now that run pretty well with DCS due to eye tracking and dynamic foveated rendering. But there is no doubt that VR will never look as good as on a sharp 2d monitor. Not sure it ever could just due to it being 3d in actual size rather than on a smaller 2d flat screen. You have to admit even the 2d monitor is sharper overall like at distance than real life scenery.

I don't know I thought I heard them say base station support might be added sometime in the future, but no idea really what it would use as I did not see the whole thing, just some bits off and on.

Livestream was interesting. I kind of watched it off and on during the presentation. Obviously this will be a very high end PC-VR device. Also of note the software will be open source. They are shooting for before end of year release however based on what I saw I don't think that will happen myself, I think they are still a ways away from release. At least I hope they do not take the Pimax approach to releasing totally unfinished products. One model will have native eye tracking/dynamic foveated rendering support, which especially for flight and race sims is a very nice feature for sure. All new headsets should offer that imho. Always nice to see companies offering nice PC-VR headsets rather than taking the race to the bottom approach of the mammoth Meta. Appears this one will be in Aero class at least.

Oh ok I misunderstood and thought you were talking about very high latency in DCS. -

Wouldn't you want more the latency numbers from DCS? -

Well I can only say I have loved my Aero since getting it in early Jan 2022, and being retired I use it almost every day for several hours a day. Agree on their reprojection I do not use it. I run vysnc on and locked to 45 fps and get a very good experience. Single player only. I don't usually keep an eye any more on fps or latencies and been a while since I looked, next time I run it I will have a look. May not be today though. -

Aero was released like a year and a half ago or so. You have not used since then and did not contact support ? I would post on the Varjo Discord, they have a tech guy there - Arch F1, that is always very helpful. At least on Discord you can get a lot of good feedback quickly from some very knowledgeable folks on the Aero. Maybe post both your Varjo settings and DCS settings here as well. Preferably screen shots. -
How to force to work with SteamVR (multithreading) again?
dburne replied to YoYo's topic in Virtual Reality
Unless you use Open Composite for any other sim, totally uninstall it. Open XR Toolkit has a disable feature. I have Open XR Toolkit but currently not using for my Aero with original Quad View for Aero, so I just have it disabled. It disables fine. -

Get rid of Open Composite. DCS now supports Open XR natively. Then try again using MT. Disable Toolkit for testing purposes as well as any Mods. -
Where to you put your vr controllers when using hotas?

Good deal. Don't think it works with IL-2 but yeah it is great with DCS. -
First rule of thumb when troubleshooting issues - Remove or disable all Mods.

If you are not running DCS-MT along with mbucchia's eye tracked dynamic foveated rendering with Open XR you are in for a real treat when you do. Congrats on getting what I consider to be the best headset currently available.
