It's very useful option. F. E. Try to zoom in field of view inside cockpit on some airplanes angles are centered below HUD. Adjust your view up, zoom out, and use Save Cockpit Angles key.

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
Shaman replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Yes it does, thing is, EDs camera unnaturally travels forward and once you look at your 4 o clock your neck is on top of flight stick mounting or even more in front. Getting rid of it with Proper Neck on any aircraft immerses a lot. For me the most prominent change is on Warthog and Flanker as these are aircrafts I fly all the time. I just recently removed the mod to see if ED improved, but they did not. It's terrible to me when my virtual neck transits forward in aircraft each time I turn left or right.. It makes me sick now. Prefer the mod. It's best feeling, it's like apple, it just works as expected. -
Add TrackIR Center & Pause on 1 Joystick button
Shaman replied to CubPilot's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
As first stage is short input release at less then set time, then how to make it to send command at second stage no matter whether released or not, but just after elapsed time? Analogy is A-10C's HOTAS TMS UP behavior. -
A-10C Pitch Ladder is caged to FPM. FPM is on your left edge of HUD because there is right to left cross wind. Run in your target doing 8s, going down wind or upwind to avoid crosswind, ladder and FPM drift due wind and yourself crabbing. Alternatively, you may notice that in Super Hornet you can uncage ladder from FPM(VV) and cage it to HUD center using HOTAS. My claim is based on simulator VRS F/A-18E, as there you can cage ladder to HUD or to FPM by flight manual and Super Hornet HOTAS layout.

How to reduce smoke effects, I can't see anything I am firing at. Otherwise I hit these MiG-15s, but mostly damage to a point enemy can return to base or leak fuel beforehand. If I could maintain longer burst if I can keep tally on my bandit while firing, I guess I'd land more rounds each time.

Must share this playlist again! :) All about A2A real F-14 combat; seems US pilots do not have much combat experience on F-14s and almost none with Phoenix missiles, so I would change our source ;)

Is it just me, or are Easy Comms borked again?
Shaman replied to Spectre_USA's topic in Bugs and Problems
All works here, but bug spotted see below. In old campaign properties of JTAC waypoint triggers are now conflicting each other. I noticed there is conflict between what briefing says, what is command set for JTAC frequency, and then once jtac has its target group assigned in ME there in its properties frequencies are wrong again... in conflict with already set command freq. If you come on <51>US server and vote for mission Flashpoint Caucasus, there you'll have JTAC that works like a charm with EASY COMMS. Took an effort to test it, set commands and assigned targets properties hold no conflicting frequencies and calls :) Since easy comms only dial in frequencies on local PC in cockpit and function also prints these frequencies in comm menus (so we do not enforce on server COMMs setting, it is client's choice). However there is one uneasy going bug with EASY COMMS, rotate your VHF FM rotator knob to Intercom, the moment you bring VHH FM (HOTAS MIC switch aft) menu up it knob rotates back to VHF when you call for weapons payload change... haha! So once you Okay new weapons and pilot asks for new payload... with cockpit closed ground crew won't copy because knob will be returned back to VHF position. arrr. To work around this with EASY COMMs, open cockpit canopy.... obviously, or use keyboard command function to bring payload screen and they okay changes. This is the ONLY bug I had, and I use EASY COMMs all the time, my preference - this is all for the fact of having a list of frequencies in upper right radio comm interface menus. -
No rules as such at your home, so what you say is true, but so DCS missions are almost never taking into consideration logistics management in real life for spares and stores. DCS giving all pilots opportunity to take whatever and wear equipment as they prefer.

Yes, flight lead is responsible to sort out targets for wingmen. Position of targets can be sent via data link network, or given by radio, all you need is MGRS reference system or descriptive visual cues and pass it to wingmen. Lead may also laser guide wingman's LGBs.

Actually only one A-10 in flight should take the TGP, rest is communication. FC3 A-10A is not a hard core pilot's sim, due to simulation limitations, which is also officially described by ED as very limited simulation of the Warthog compared to full Sim module.

Disable Windows update optional drivers at once, it's bad idea to allow it install any updates without user manual approval.

try updating GPU driver and reintall DX?

C-101 Does Not Support TM HOTAS Combined Map
Shaman replied to jjohnson241's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
I am using TM Warthog and do not use TARGET anywhere since day one. Keyboard or keyboard emulation... Too unreliable for Hard-core simming. Only pure direct input controls for my flight Sim pit and every aircraft configured and tuned individually, and I recommend to make this transition. Check AutoHotKey scripts for anything else you require. -
Planes visibility and smooth online gameplay in DCS 2.0?
Shaman replied to Kwiatek's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
What about navigation lights and strobe lights? Will they have realistic visibility on distance depending on their settings bright/dim and ambient light and weather conditions? Currently these external lights are useless due to faked rendering, unless we are all just pretending they work and can allow aircraft to be seen at long ranges for collision avoidance. -

Warthog programming approach for DCS
Shaman replied to BitMaster's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Have you ever looked at AutoHotkey? I have not been using TARGET for years, I dislike limits of this software and the idea of running and switching "a profile". I do everything in-DCS mapped to dxinput controlls and if I need to emulate a key or macro with any dxinput action, I complete it with Autohotkey scripts (emulate F14 keyboard key when pressing throttle's 4-way mic switch IN (5th action) for Voice Activated Commands' PTT button). 1) Warthog Stick + Throttle 2) Saitek Rudder Pedals 3) 4ea x Cougar MFD keypads 4) 2ea x USB Touchscreens with HELIOS running (touch enabled avionics panels) 5) Nostromo Keypad http://www.autohotkey.com/ -
OP is right, this TIR bug persist in game for ages!!! Implementation by ED has never been 1 to 1 with TIR driver output!!! Please search for my former posts on these forums regarding TIR issue you noticed. What you need to do is reduce saturation-Y from 100 to 64~44 (preference) for YAW/PITCH/ROLL MODERATOR! PLEASE LET ED KNOW!

Check axis setting for views. It's possible this one is set for fov/zoom instead.

Hi Towsim, any update on that? Any way I can manually force it to use front left, front right or center channel custom for each radio 1,2,3? I'll be playing this weekend.

Does not happen here, I believe you must keep practicing. Also, getting rid of weapons does not mean you are at safe landing weight. Bring up payload screen to check your current weight, amount of fuel left in tanks is important. Stay in pattern and burn all unnecessary fuel practicing go-arounds (not touch&gos!) at own decision height. It is very good training to get your approaches spot-on and burn that extra fuel to be safe to land. 1. make sure controls are set correctly, curves for yaw and all; watch/read about cross-wind approach and final flare techniques - tons of material on internet; 2. straighten the plane before touchdown on main landing gear; you can't traverse left or right at touch down; 3. at touch down work rudder to keep plane straight; 3. once straight running down the runway, continue to keep nose wheel up (do not pitch too high) as long as possible using airplane's fuselage at positive pitch as air-break to reduce speed until moment you can't hold nose wheel up and make it touch down softly. Oh, never ever release any bit of pressure pulling on stick after flare, you can only add to stick pressure.
