  1. This issue has been around for a long time. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/293830-network-hudhmcs-symbol-alignment-issue/
  2. What's the specific technique? Just lase it once or do we have to hold the trigger until bomb drop? If only once, for how long?
  3. Point track on TGP used by jets are amazing at tracking moving targets. The LMC on Apache is total trash. Even against a stationary target if you touch the cursor slightly it will start moving and manually correcting it is such a pain. Againt a moving target it's even worse. Right now I found it more effective just tracking targetes manually. I don't get the why the TADS does not come with point track. I literally want to bring a TGP with me and ditch the TADS.
  4. @Wags@BIGNEWY @NineLine Please take a look. Thx
  5. As far as I know, the other sim modeled F-16's FLCS and force sensing stick very well. I don't know whether the other sim or DCS is correct, and I cannot compare it to DCS since ED does not allow it.
  6. And again, I have use force sensing, it does not help. Your hardware is not the problem. Please read my comment.
  7. As a FSSB user, I'm telling you guys that force sensing does not make things any better. Even with the force sensing stick, flying with 0 curves in DCS, the jet still feels very sluggish in roll. Feels like I am flying a 747. I am not even using a high force settings with my FSSB. My max pitch force is 6.25 lbs, and my max roll force is 3.25 lbs (default is 8.5 lbs and 4.33 lbs). In the other F-16 sim (BMS), roll feels much more responsive. To describe the feeling, in the other F-16 sim, if I want to achieve X degrees of roll rate, I only have to apply 50% of my total force setting in roll to my force sensing stick, in DCS, however, I have to apply about 80-90% of force to achieve the same X degrees of roll rate. This issue in DCS is NOT the problem of your hardware. Buying a FSSB R3L base WILL NOT help. Still, like the tag said, we have to provide some evidence to ED that DCS F-16's FLCS is very insensitive when receiving roll inputs from the pilot, whether the input is from a force sensing stick or not. Edit: In case you wonder, I use same the force setting in DCS and the other F-16 sim.
  8. -Stick: If you want realism, you need force sensing, that's what F-16 uses in real life. Go with RealSimulator FSSB R3L force sensing base + RealSimulator F-16 side grips (for the grip, you can also go with Thrustmaster's Warthog grip or their F-16 grip, but be aware, you will need to do the "Lego trick" if you go with TM's grip, since TM's built quality will not last for force sensing use, it will come lose). FYI, RealSimulator is the only manufacture making force sensing base on the market, so if you want the force sensing experience like the real F-16 stick, their base is your only choice. RealSimulator FSSB R3L: https://realsimulator.com/fssb-r3-lighting/ RealSimulator F-16 side grips: https://realsimulator.com/f-16-side-grips/ Lego Trick: ------------------------------------------ -Throttle: RealSimulator is making their F-16 throttle, but it's not avaliable yet. https://realsimulator.com/linear-throttles/ If you need a throttle now, get Winwing's F-16EX Orion Throttle. https://wwsimstore.com/p/342.html I mean you can also try to find used Thrustmaster Cougar throttle, but that thing is very very outdated. ----------------------------------------- -Rudder Pedals: Many options, since no one on the market really makes a F-16 rudder pedals replica. IMO, the closest you can get is Slaw Device RX Viper V2 Rudder Pedals https://slawdevice.com/en/glowna/3-rx-viper-v2-rudder-pedals-dark-metallic.html. Unfortunately, it's not avaliable now. But honestly, any decent rudder pedals will do, since you will only use the rudder pedals during taxi, takeoff, and landing. F-16's FLCS automatically does rudder input for you when you are flying, dogfighting, etc. Edit: My setup: FSSB R3L + TM Warthog grip + lego trick Winwing F-16 throttle RX Viper V1 Rudder
  9. I doubt ED will consider this. There's no detent swtich on the real F-16 throttle. You rotate it counter clock wise (or you can call lift it up) to go from MIL to AB.
  10. After the recent FM update (last patch), I feel like our F-16 has lost some thrust, both clean or loaded, burner or no burner. Like I was able to mantain certain speed at certain attitude or accelerate to certain speed before the patch, but after the patch I am no long able to. I fly this jet everyday so I am not making this up. Something is not right because there is no mention of thrust tweaking or drag tweaking in the last patch notes.
  11. I don't have a X65F, but I have a FSSB R3L, which is also force sensing. I use instant trim. I tried central position trim at first but I found sometimes I was fighting against the stick. With central trim, sometimes I trim and if there is still some force I applied on the stick, the control just doesn't recenter and it causes me trouble. For example, if I want to trim left, I apply 3 lbs of force to the left, hit trim, but maybe I also have 0.1 lbs of force on my hands in pitch as well since force sensing is very sensitive, the game think my stick isn't centered. Therefore, if at that moment I want to bank left, I have to apply whatever force I need plus extra 3 lbs of force, and this just throws me off sometimes and making me feel like my control is jammed. The only workaround is everytime you trim, you remove your hand off the stick to make sure it's centered. With instant trim, it works like a charm. Basically how trim works on the Huey, because you don't need to center the stick everytime you hit trim. Just remember to ease off the force after trimming so the aircraft doesn't suddenly tilt towards whatever direction you trimmed it. Basically, instant trim = immediately sets a new center/neutral position for your stick. I like it better for my force sensing stick.
  12. Why tieba? It's Chinese isn't it? Let's keep the discussion here or at least in English so people can read. If you all worry about rules, you can discuss this topic in reddit/hoggit. https://www.reddit.com/r/hoggit/ @jianduankejiCN
  13. I found it was extremely easy to fight any ACE AI in the old FM. Honestly, PVE dogfights really don't matter. AI FM is a myth anyway. Fight a human pilot.
  14. Yes. Viper's STR was not tuned in the last FM update. Only ITR and G-onset. Here is the comparison: https://dcs.silver.ru/77,71,IAS_kts,zoom,lbs,turnrate *Altitude is 1000m/3281ft (top left of the web page)
  15. BUT our DCS Hornet has 404 engine and therefore higher STR than our DCS Viper. Even after the recent Viper flight model update, Hornet still dominates Viper in a 2 circle fight.
  16. Ha! The pain being a Mirage pilot in DCS. I sincerely struggled figuring out how to fire my weapons until I watched Casmo's video, where he talked about the trigger guard and why it needs to be removed in DCS.
  17. I regret buying the Apache. But I can't refund it so I have to live with it. I hate flying this thing. It feels stupidly overcomplicated to fly. I prefer the handling of Huey. Simple and straightforward.
  18. I don't really see the need for discussion but thanks for passing out to the team. Please point out to the team that almost no consumer joystick on the market has a trigger guard. Removing it or being able to disable it in speical option would be really user-friendly. Realistic or not, DCS is a consumer PC sim afterall, not for military. I agree. Trigger guard as a key is overkill. It's like having a key to turn the door handle CW, a key to pull the door, and another key to turn the door handle CCW to be able to close the cockpit door. Over-realism is not what DCS needs. At the end of the day, it's a game on Steam.
  19. Immediately calling the other person a troll.... Why so defensive IDK. Look at all the other games. A game originally made by Russians, for example. This is gold
  20. Yep, doesn't make sense to me neither. Keep in mind tho, JF is a Chinese designed jet and its module in DCS is made by a Chinese 3rd pary developer. Just saying.
  21. 1. IDK. You should ask ED. 2. Same as above. 3. Totally playable in terms of both A/A and A/G. A lot of if not most features are implemented. Many weapons choices, and it can carry a lot of them (6 Maverick + 6 CBU-97 + 4 AA missiles, and a center tank/jammer for example). F-16 is one of the eaisest modern jets to fly, learn, and enjoy. Cold start is extremely simple and fast (way better than A10 and F18) if you skip the checking and testing stuff, which are not necessary in DCS unless you want realism. HOTAS and avionics logic is the best ever designed (Viper pilots laugh when Hornet pilots have to move hands off the throttle and stick to push buttons). Best multirole jet ever made. Oh btw, it's a rocket ship. It can out accelerate all playable jets in DCS.
  22. +1 I know this option would not be realistic, but most of us don't have FFB sticks and rudders, which is already unrealistic to begin with. I think user-friendly is more important in a PC sim.
  23. Anyone feel the same? Huey wobbles but it's really not that hard to control, especially in a hover. Apache on the on the hand is very wobbly and almost impossible to control in a hover.
