  1. If you're running Oculus, you can open up that one: C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusMirror.exe --Size 1024 1024 --LeftEyeOnly --FovTanAngleMultiplier 1.3 1.3 Works for me if I maximize the window then. https://developer.oculus.com/documentation/native/pc/dg-compositor-mirror/ Won't stay in foreground though (there are probably tools that make it do that), but works for streaming.
  2. I was just about to say up the GPU as well and crank the CPU clock up. Your 6700 literally has the same IPC (instructions per cycle) as the 9900k and even the 10x00 models which are just about to be released. Since DCS doesn't use any of the other cores at all (let alone HT which often is recommended to be switched off even), there's literally no benefit from a new CPU except for it running at a higher rate. I don't use any tools at all, just increased the multi within my BIOS/UEFI for my 3570k. Didn't change the voltage though. Now the question is why do you get those spikes? Hard to tell, could be the board or PSU most probably...
  3. There's literally a flight sim "lite" in GE... have you tried using that?
  4. I wasn't even aware of the initially planned 2020 date, so I don't see any problems if it's being pushed back a bit.
  5. The Tomcat is slow, compared to the 111. And I don't even talk DCS, where it is literally on par with the MiG-21...
  6. I'm a simple stallion. I see, I buy.
  7. Two Reverbs Probably spent all the monies on the hardware and now can't afford the modules anymore In my case, it's the other way round... might be worse The fun thing is the sale was supposed to be still going on ATM as per the newsletter that announced it... That's how I understood it and felt a little sorry for you that it just was over...
  8. I'd rep that post if it still was possible. That way we would have had many winners. It would have been possible to use the earlier model for 1982 Lebanon War for example and still be hyped to get the additions of later blocks, especially the one with both LANTIRN pods the bl50 doesn't use anymore. Overall it would cover more time periods more accurately and they'd generate more revenue from the F-16, since the multi versions thing. I liked the other sim for having like 30-40 109s and the same amount of Spits, because almost every variant was there in the end. In DCS, we very much have to substitute literally everything by one of the most modern variants for practically every conflict. And it's more than just taking off the AMRAAMs and JDAMs... DCS has the stand of being the most accurate sim, yet people fly MiG-21bises as if they were F-13s, same with literally every other aircraft in the sim. If you really want to nail it, you hardly get a decent scenario together at all. Even the Channel map inconsistently covers multiple time periods at the same time as has been pointed out by philstyle. The problem of course heavily depends on available data, and how easy it is to get that, so we'll probably have to live with that for a while, and TBH it's way better than not having the things at all. I'd actually prefer getting some more and new FC grade planes over having MAC in the pipeline. MAC is something most DCS players don't need, it's rather aimed at getting new chaps into the community with a step that's even placed before going FC3. They should take the planned accessibility things and improve the game mode we already have with that. That way they'd also avoid having to service two products at the same time (plus there's already TBS as well). And it probably would enable us to get planes where the detailed data is not (yet) available. And there'd always be the option to upgrade any FC grade aircraft to DCS levels if available data provides for. In the end I might probably end up buying MAC just to support the crew, but never even install it at all... I guess there is a reason they chose to do the Mudhen. There are quite some commonalities and shared systems with the Hornet, Mudhen and Harrier II. They already said they'd wait on ED's implementation of the AG radar before even starting to work on the B+, and they'd probably try to get more tech from ED that's in the Hornet and also would apply to the Harrier as well. Now with the F-15E, they'd get new revenue for releasing that into early access and from that be able to model systems that will also go into the AV-8. You're definately not. Can't wait to have the last of the gunfighters from M³ and even more so the FlyingIron Corsair II that I'd probably take over having an A-6 any day. In short: You'll get both, they're in the works already by 3rd parties.
  9. Bought. I had to do it, and now I don't have to think about it anymore Reminds me of something... I've never fired up the Normandy even once still.
  10. Why did I have to get the link to the trailer from the [REDACTED, you know, the one with that big red star in it's logo] forums instead of having it inside the newsletter (OK, I could just have opened the Tube after reading the letter)? And still they lack the header image... Anyway, looking great, probably will buy very soon. Gotta do some maths prior, because life sucks. As been stated on the trailer comments by 9L, the map is planned to be released late summer, which literally is September, so it's not two weeks, but two months still.
  11. At least acknowledged by parts of the community, but apparently the VR subforum is a part restricted to the mods and devs If wishes were ponies, I'd fly... Definately not. Oculus only here. Yes, and every time for another 3 minutes when you select them again "That's your world, not mine." - Not having anything nVidia related in there, just the usual Windows temp trash. As I was able to gather from the interwebz, there should be a NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache structure in there for that matter.
  12. My performance sightings are a bit mixed. Yesterday I flew the instant Hornet bombing mission in the PG and it never was below 45fps even once even when going to Abu Dhabi / Al Dhafra, sometimes over the deserts off to the west it even went up to 90, probably because that's mostly unpopulated area though. Main gripe though was that because of the super fog which still is present in VR (since the Channel / Jug update), I literally can't see shit. Had a bloody hard time to even see the smoke plumes, never really could see any of the targets at all. Also, I couldn't set the distance on my ground mapping radar which was weird. The arrow weren't even there, sometimes the range changed by itself for reasons unknown. Had no control over it. Today I retried the same with my Quest via VD, so basically a compressed image, but on a higher res. I finally could see things, even from 1-2nm away I was able to make out the targets and do successful bomb runs on them rather easily - even though the haze still is massive there (no difference to the CV1) - but well, I hardly ever saw more than 30fps, except for when the briefing screen was shown at the beginning where I had 55-60fps. But at least I could work the AG radar and see some slight spots where the targets are located at. After that I took the vs. MiG-29 BFM - never was able to get on his six and eventually he splashed me, but as opposed to flying in the Rift, where I'd always be tumbleweed, blind, no joy, I could keep track of him visually, which was a nice moment for me, as I even had massive problems with that in pancake mode previously. Now I only can begin to imagine how well this might work out on a Reverb... Now I'm just having fun with the Mi-8... need to do some training for the upcoming Mi-24 somehow Too bad the cockpit still is extremely dark, unlike as seen on Wags' video where he flew over Damascus. But well, he might have had some changes in there already that weren't ready for this week's patch yet. I can just read the dials when there's direct sunlight to them. And turning up the flood lights doesn't seem to work at the moment as stated earlier. Not exactly happy with the performance yet as I've been at 40+ in the Quest over Senaki at some point in the 2.5.6 history with higher settings than I run now, as opposed to the around 30ish I now seemingly get in the Rift even. Just don't get why it was so much better yesterday. It's weird sometimes... I'll have to do some more Rift/Quest comparisons here though to get a final word on this. Might be just the higher res hitting hard on my rather old rig.
  13. And apparently you didn't get an answer... well this is not the first case of sales ending too early. I've seen them slated to be until 12pm GMT on a Sunday, being shut already at daytime on Saturday several times in the past. They now topped it by even reducing the time frame by a whole week and using the mistakable time of "midnight" + date. Is that when that day begins or is that when it ends? For me it's the latter. Always has been. So when they say Monday + midnight, I expect the things to run on Monday still. There is a reason why I keep telling others they shouldn't wait till the end... It's all about the principles. They did annouce something that was factually completely wrong in the end. And I didn't need the sale, got everything I need already. But this type of erroneous PR kinda peeves me, especially with the background of the 2.5.6 history of issues. I mean, what else could they possibly mess up next if they can't even get their own dates right? This is actually the worst time this could have happened. Where in the world is it July 30th already? Could I use your time machine, please? I don't want to step into 1.15, but I'll just say they don't even support TrackIR on release. Just pass along and stay with DCS. Once they got VR support, have a sneak peek at it with the Game Pass and decide if you want to keep it somehow. They said otherwise here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4409321&postcount=260
  14. Having Vietnam Flashbacks here... I've seen that movie, rest you assured
  15. Just for clarifying, is it this bug?
  16. Whenever I turn on the "mirrs", I experience two things: -They're like 320x200 footage and therefor literally useless since you can't really see anything in them, it's more or less just for immersion since the real things have them, but on that part, they stick out so much that they truly don't really fit in the rest you'd see -They eat up ~30-40% of my framerate Just had them on a few times when the Tomcat was new, but then again, it's simply not worth it.
  17. At the moment, the roll trim is utterly useless especially at the frame rates DCS does run at usually (trim does heavily depend on that in DCS which is a bloody shame). But they keep saying [CORRECT AS IS] (yet again, trim rate smoothness depends directly on rendering rate!), so I wouldn't bet a since cent on them fixing this anytime within the current century. As for proofs, they're the devs. They don't need to show em. Usual business practice...
  18. My biggest gripe is that you can't point this thing at horizontal level. It's either up or down with the slider and around the center, there's something that feels like a hardcoded deadzone which sucks.
  19. These are broken since 2.5.6 and additionally the "white" ones are labelled "red" as well. I used to turn the white ones up before and it worked rather well in 2.5.5, although I still was under the impression it was too dark, but well, this is DCS after all. This has been around in some way since February, literally when 2.5.6 dropped. I get good rates since 49314, but only when not moving my head. If I do so, it drops at least by 1/3, mostly 1/2 and sometimes even like 2/3. Don't even have to turn around, translating / leaning suffices to get the fps crash. And that went into Stable...
  20. So that would, if it even was the case, be just one guy less. Seeing the team expand however is good news to me. Valid point there. Most recently I just took the whole think like the Chuck Owl & F-14 thing - he can't bring on that guide since Iran still operates those and it might get him into troubles and kicked out of business to say the lease. ED certainly wants to play extra-safe, especially after that story with one of their coders being held captive in the States a while ago because he wanted to get some manuals out of there for private interest. Would be kinda similar aspect here since with the TFC a British company would get the data of things and EDSA being the "messenger" who would get into trouble. Better safe than sorry is the rule here. If a 3rd party can do works on such aircraft, like RAZBAM does with the 23MLD with data from Cuba (IIRC), that data transfer out of Russia doesn't happen. How far that would apply to a 3rd party within Russia, I don't know. But anyway - it would be brain melting to see this very subject "to change". I remember another Russian studio not aquiring proper licenses from Northtrop Grumman which led to literally everything except for the things that were already in there being taboo for future addition. And guess what, a PTO scenario without Avengers and lots of other assets including important ships does lack. A lot. In other words: This does get noticed. I can't imagine any kind of warfare sim / game without licensing getting anywhere near to the point it's being sold nowadays. Legal depts are Argus-eyed these days very much. -------- Edit: ------------------------------------------------- And now it's time for a MEME BREAK! Just imagine ED pulling off a Magnitude and the "eagerly awaited aircraft" to be announced would be a Pitts. Now that would be really brain melting!
  21. Just make it a mod for one of those enablers to avoid this I just did this on my end as I wanted to try it out (kegetys' file).
  22. As per patch log it's been fixed for the SC crew... but what about all the other things like hangars/shelters, shadows, light cones, labels etc? Insert "Am I a joke to you?" memes right here
  23. The biggest issue at the moment is the framerate literally dropping in half while moving the head...
  24. I'd not wager that... still not updating in the third world even with bin\DCS_updater.exe update
  25. On a side note first, I tried to click some of the links in the changelog, most of them lead to classified space I'm not allowed to review. Is it supposed to be like that? Those links are kinda pointless if you mods go move the reports to some secretly hidden archives under strict formal regulations. I was happy to see the cockpit being legibly lit in Wags' video last week, this module and the Huey have been a nightmare for years now unless I crank my gamma up to 2.8+ and I was hoping to be able to read the actual gauges again and not just flying the thing by emotions, but the lack of notes on that gets me. Might be one of those "no soup for you" items until a later update. At least the Huey has some fluorescent gauges, but the Mi-8 lacks any kind of cockpit lighting completely. Long time overdue, finally! Some nice and unspecific things that lets me hope That drove me nuts since the thing also keeps flipping back up all the time on keystrokes until try&error makes you win the match which I secretly hope also got fixed. Same for the Tomcat SAS switches, but that's another ballpark. Great to have that... hope the Harrier follows So it took them 5 weeks to introduce 7 bug fixes on the Viper... one of which being "HUD too bright at night" - was OK for me, but I couldn't see the thing on daytime at all. No words on that however... what about the severely broken radar? The TGP moving steerpoints around? The almost illegible HUD and MFCDs? Though the Hornet fix list seems to compensate for that, same team. Same for performance issues... And the ultra fog in Vee Or. Taking a slower pace is good however if it increases the overall quality, but I still fail to see the major issues fixed after 5 weeks. Also this will throw aboard the whole roadmap. Hornet out of EA this year? Never gonna happen or it'll be severely incomplete at that point. Less than a quarter on that list which includes 3rd parties mostly (which are not on ED's bugtracker!), so we can go search for the needles in the haystack again, aaas always. Some things never change, at least they did not use the extra time to write a complete log Now you make me excited... the ME was a stutter fest for me ever since the 2.0 Alphas, with freezes up to 5 minutes even in the latest builds when just zooming in on the yet empty map. The thing was literally not usable without going to make another coffee multiple times. Changing a few things on a mission required taking a day off to say the least. It was severely horrible. Any improvement is very much appreciated! *cries in CV1* Performance on the SC was rather OK for me in the beginning, but the subsequent quote-unquote fixes that came with the two _AFU_ patches which didn't get tested at all (which is why we had to wait longer now to get this one) killed it for me after the fact. And I haven't even been placing things on the thing...
