  1. This is my experience. I have been running 0.9 on both for a long time now and it absolutely does help FPS but I can notice this reduction if I look for it. Any more is too much. Its a really good tweak though as it reduces workload without changing graphic settings.
  2. @MAESTR0 Bumping this. Please include kneeboard folder for both Syria and Normandy 2. Thanks.
  3. Valid choice, bit of a price and value problem. I think the 7900 will definitely be the best bang for buck, 4090 will be faster for sure. But I heard the last amd cards were poor in VR. Drivers just don't like reprojection I think.
  4. Well I'm totally stuck on the fence. I was waiting for 7000X3D but these prices are really good. I wish I could tell what sort of uplift I could get on a 9900KS.
  5. Overclockers have it at 350 and its in stock. I really nearly just bought one. Soooo tempting... The asus rog b550 + 64gb ram (and cpu) for approx. 800ish. HMMMMM Question is, will it get cheaper on black friday..
  6. 5800X3D has been slashed, down to £350
  7. I don't believe that's how the apache works, you have one PPT for transmission radio. You should bind the button that switches between the radios and then use that.
  8. Do you want the special PPT option in SRS? That will let you set the ICS switch to VOX or PTT and have it work in SRS as intended
  9. ED have already publicly said that they are doing a world map so unless this changes there will be a UK map. Although I would expect a scenery/airfield paid upgrade DLC system similar to other flight sims.
  10. Anyone gone from i9 9900 to a 58X3D? What is the uplift like?
  11. Thanks for your information. Above statement couldn't be more true. It's such a trap to get in...
  12. Yes, I think that might have been what I was afraid of. It's so temping to go the 58X3D route considering how cheap they are, but I can't help but wonder what the 70X3D's will be like? Much more money but potentially much more performance too. Plus some future resilience too with both socket and RAM updates. I could spend a long time waiting though...
  13. Yes 64gb is the capacity I am after whatever. I have 32 now so next system will be 64. Money definitely is an object.. but I do like to know what the all-out choices are just really to understand where I might land. I think DDR5 would be worth it from a platform perspective, allowing for future upgrades to faster/larger kits but I wouldn't want to go out and buy something that ends up being worse than a possibly cheaper DDR4 set-up. If I do decide ryzen then I think this is currently pretty simple, DDR5 only and I've heard 6000mhz is the advised choice there.
  14. I'd like to bump this topic now in November of 2022. I am planning my next PC, feel like I am probably going to wait until X3D is out but part of me just wants to build a 13700k system now. If I did that route I would want to go DDR5. I also want 64gb. This mainly means 5600mhz CL40 kits. Can't really figure out if this is likely to be worse than the current DDR4 kits which are 3600 CL18. Is it better to spend much more on either to get better specs?
  15. You would be better off checking with everything else shut down, and check what background applications you have running. Also updates, virus scans etc. Its a pretty heavy use, I doubt a multithreaded DCS would load every core to 100%
  16. Sounds to me like they are getting the best you can out of low resolution panels which is great as this will be easier to run. The thing I am still unsure of it that this approach to visual quality may make the cockpits look great but I would like the terrain and distant objects to look great, which I think is more dependant on higher resolution panels. Just not sure. Wish I could try this stuff before spending cash.
  17. Yes please add skeletons to static unit list.
  18. Ummm is this not part of the Halloween Easter egg?
  19. I feel like I missed out. No green sky, no skeletons. Is there a trick (or treat) to getting it to display? I would also like to spamram Santa in due course.
  20. Oculus Q2 user, i9900ks + 3090. I believe a minor drop in performance mostly affects me low down. I still hit 40fps (reprojection) 95% of the time so I am mostly unaffected. When in rain I still get huge fps loss - impact like nothing else, this was the same with 2.7 not sure why. Rain drops effects make no difference and I can run the biggest clouds without rain fine.
  21. I saw this wasn't working, also very disappointed. Shows real lack of organisation on their part. I thought it might be simple but didn't want to assume. If it is one line it really should be done. ED should also be pushing it or just do it for them. @MAESTR0is actively posting on the Normandy 2 update. I have already asked on there for that map to have the kneeboard included and mentioned Syria once. Perhaps we should head over there and keep the Syria folder on the agenda. It's really ridiculous now.
  22. I have somehow missed them all... No green background. I'm not patching until.i have seen some skeletons!
  23. Not sure if this has already been reported but the runway lights on the PG map are shining through the cockpit. Not sure if this is everywhere but I saw this at Al Minhad. See vid https://youtube.com/shorts/9jGEBu6SLH0?feature=share
  24. Yes I saw this. Couldn't understand what it meant. Thought the kneeboard was now a tablet! Oculus quest 2
  25. Not sure I would recommend just swapping an OS between PCs, I know it can work but I always prefer new system, new start. But probably is ok in the long run. So the uplift is more in MSFS than DCS. I still can't decide between 13700k or wait for 7000X3D?
