FF MiG-29A is nothing like FC3 one, system modeling wise it isn't just you can click stuff now, many of it's systems are currently oversimplified to oblivion. Also it was very redundant and powerful jet when it was introduced and complete opposite of MiG-21 in terms of systems, instrument positioning and pilot safety measures. Some of us appreciate cold start, emergency procedures and having everything simulated the way it "should" work which in FC3 MiG-29A definitely isn't the case... from navigation to weapons systems... MiG-29A is a lot more than we currently have.

Hind - Wanting to understand power system loss
XPACT replied to Dangerzone's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
They should add wear and tear of everything that has some limitations but we have to keep in mind that with many restrictions you would still be able to use the equipment for a lot of time out of recommended time limit before failure but it would impact service life greatly which you will never be penalised for in the sim. One example are the engines if I remember correctly take off power shouldn't last more than 6 minutes if you go over that service life will be impacted greatly BUT engines are still designed to last up to 60 minutes in that regime and would eventually catastrophically fail and cease to work -
Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Scripts\Speech there is speech.lua file in that folder once you open it search for J-11A you can change base.country.id.CHINA to base.country.id.RUSSIA or I guess comment that whole J-11A line with -- to change it to English.

resolved ASO-2V panel not synched in multicrew
XPACT replied to Rex854Warrior's topic in Bugs and Problems
From my testing everything in this report was fixed in the last update (30.06.2021). There are however other things that are still broken/desynced in multicrew and not considered known issues but I will open bug report about those when I have more time on my hands. -
Mi 8 has SPU 7, Mi-24P uses SPU 8. So radio selection panel doesn't necessarily need to be labeled/represented the same way but it is possible that it is a bug. Thing I think may be a more "serious" bug (if it even is a bug in the first place) is if you switch either R-852 or R-828 to compass (above ark u2 panel) sound will cut out for both radios I would expect sound to cut out only for the selected one. Everything else honestly works as expected.

"Fixed" Fuel Delimiter Valve indication Logic Question
XPACT replied to Charly_Owl's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Currently in the game it is what you marked as logic 2. Now I am not sure what is considered normal operation without manual. Usually any kind of cross valve is left closed except when you need it in some kind of emergency. But that said in this case (mi 24p fuel system design) I would use it in the up position (closed) in hostile environment and in the down position (open) if I am carrying external fuel or just traveling. If you carry external fuel and keep the valve closed you will starve tank 5 at some point and only tank 4 will still be resupplied from main reservoir tank, probably isn't good for the balance. -
"Fixed" Fuel Delimiter Valve indication Logic Question
XPACT replied to Charly_Owl's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Great find, in the video label actually says OPEN when in the up position instead of what we have in the game and you can see that at first tank 5 pump is not running only 1, 2 and 4 then when he opens the valve few seconds later tank 5 pump starts working this is also happening in the game (reversed tho, switch in the down position) so it indeed seems that switch is the other way around IRL and in the game logic is reversed now So from the video it shows that in the game they both mislabeled it and used that label for working logic which is incorrect. -
"Fixed" Fuel Delimiter Valve indication Logic Question
XPACT replied to Charly_Owl's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Exactly, in the up position which is normal operating position cross feed valve between tank 4 and 5 is CLOSED, light indicates that. In the down position which should be used if one of the pumps in tank 4 or 5 fails cross feed valve is OPEN light goes out and tanks start sharing fuel. Here is the fuel system schematics Cross feed valve that switch operates is marked with red number 8 -
It's not the nose wheel that is moving it is actually you, when you realize that it will be easier. Jokes on the side to easily straighten the nose wheel you just need to lift it of the ground it will snap back and straighten
-
It's a feature, in the Hind pilot ends up paralysed with his eyes open, waiting for that ground impact to save him from the misery.
-
Everything is x100 and is in liters You use most outer scale when reading total fuel (0-25) Tanks 1 and 2 scale in the middle (0-5) Tanks 4+5 are read from inner scale (0-10) Edit: of course you need to select desired tank/s first with tank selector

Is DCS World Going to get FidelityFX Super Resolution by AMD
XPACT replied to Gumbie's topic in DCS Core Wish List
It's a different concept, with supersampling you are always getting better picture quality since you have more information to work with but sacrifice a lot of performance in the process. With these you are actually rendering game at lower resolution and then upscaling that with advanced algorithms or machine learning to get best looking image while producing more frames per second but you will always lose detail compared to native. Many people prefer detail loss with frames per second gain especially when sometimes difference between native and these is only perceivable by comparing them side by side. -

Goal of these technologies is to provide minimal detail loss while significantly boosting frames per second. -

Well with this cover model that has cut out it isn't correct, because switch wouldn't be flipped to down position when cover is closed. It is as far as we know 3D model bug, switch cover for dust protection shouldn't have cut out.
-
It seems that the cover isn't modeled correctly, on real world videos as far as I saw it was always without cut out and it makes sense as dust protection is meant to be turned off immediately upon takeoff

Would be nice to have operational front sight and they will add it but I must disagree that it will add much to the copilot experience you already usually have 8 ATGMs (depending on mission of course) that co-pilot/operator will deploy, also countermeasures management when they fix it and properly sync with pilot/server, on realistic comms servers using SRS to manage and off load radio communication from the pilot, while in combat zone adding to overall situational awareness at all times helping the pilot spot ground fire, manpad launches etc. There is a lot to do as operator and honestly fixed armaments would only be deployed by operator either if pilot is overwhelmed by something or has some kind of malfunction that prevents him to do it. I must say that so far I really enjoy flying/operating in Mi-24P equally as operator and pilot.

Gear indication lights cover has hole which should seemingly also allow switch to stay in the OFF position while the cover is closed. This is not the case if you close the cover switch is instantly pushed back to ON position. Gear indication lights switch cover.trk
-
That only lasts 10 - 15 seconds
-
Doesn't really matter where the label is, ON-OFF switch in the up position in these Russian aircraft will always mean ON.
-
Yes that one, I know what is wrong tho many people miss that step, you need to press and hold tune button on the radio panel itself. Green light will flash or be on and when it goes out you are tuned to that channel. EDIT: how long you need to hold the button depends from starting and desired frequency. Sometimes it can even take few seconds just push it and wait for green light to go out.
-
Look left and behind EDIT: You can also use main one in FM mode if you desire there is a switch on the panel for that

reported Hind black low level of detail pixel at distance
XPACT replied to Fusion1944's topic in Bugs and Problems
Someone was "trigger happy" with that tag but bug is there so don't worry it will get fixed, honestly they could even use that lod level of AI Mi-24V at distance, we can't really spot if it is a V or P at that distance anyway but it would look much better. -
This one probably isn't a bug, happened to me when I didn't close the sight door on time and pilot did hard maneuver, gyros in sight were broken from that point on even if I exited and AI took my place, AI also couldn't use the sight. EDIT: Small correction, gyros seemed to work but everything went out of alignment as you said and from what I saw on the forums everyone had that occur with sight doors open and hard maneuvering. So it can be an early attempt to simulate sight damage.

If he hears a tone you should too, seems like a another desync. I made a list of multicrew multiplayer desync issues that I will slowly start to report and make tracks of, of course anybody else willing to report and experiment with these can and should do so list somewhat goes from more important to less important ones *Engine throttle DESYNC! After pilot starts both engines and throttles them up both engine and rotor RPM stay low (Idle) for the operator and AC generators are not operational for him, meaning there is no power for weapon systems. For pilot everything seems fine. Two workarounds until fixed that are working reliably. First one, and better in my opininon, is giving control to the operator then he can raise throttle by himself and give control back to pilot, everything will work fine after that. Second one is exiting operator seat and then returning again, but that can induce other desync issues that are described later tho with this one operator compass will now start working correctly. *[COULD BE PING RELATED] Shturm doesn't track properly when fired by pilot. When fired by pilot it seems that missile is following a bit desynced reticule that pilot sees on his HUD and not the actual inputs of operator, Shturm will almost always miss. If fired by operator everything is working correctly everytime. *Missile on launcher desync (green light shows that missile is there even if it isn't) either if pilot fires Shturm or operator hot joins when some were fired previously *RI-65 silent at operator seat even after power cycle (possibly only with hot join, needs further testing) *SPO-10 Operator can't hear it working if he is present at cold start, if he hot joins SPO-10 will always beep even if sound for it is disabled in pilot cockpit at some point in time. *Compass in operator cockpit not working (stuck at 0 degrees N) when he is there from cold start if he hot joins on already started Hind compass works. *"Trimmer to yourself" switch (left wall panel) at operator cockpit opens the operator door for the pilot and possibly whole server, in first person operator can hear wind noise but not see physical door movement, in external view however operator will see his door open. *When pilot jettisons shturm tubes they are still there for him but operator doesn't see them.
