TGP Auto Handoff to AGM-65D Causes Loss of SOI
Furiz replied to Sn0wMan4's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
You think they are doing this on their own? I see the logic why you think it shouldn't switch SOI to WPN page when TGP is in AUTO, since TGP can, with TMS RIGHT, command Mav to redesignate so why should SOI switch to WPN page right? It would be logical to switch to WPN page if Mav actually locks something so you can unlock if that something is not the correct target. That would seem logical to me, but I guess they did their research, maybe this could be researched a bit more. -
TGP Auto Handoff to AGM-65D Causes Loss of SOI

This is very confusing. I never said that what you said about previous behavior is not true. Anyways you never answered my question, how do you know what is correct behavior? -
TGP Auto Handoff to AGM-65D Causes Loss of SOI
Furiz replied to Sn0wMan4's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Correct, how do you know what is correct? We know its not previous behavior. FCR was mentioned, I assume the logic is the same for TGP, when handoff is initiated SOI is switched to WPN page. -
It is not redundand, it will auto handoff target with AGM-65D and G (the IR mavericks), K and H didnt have auto handofd function.

TGP Auto Handoff to AGM-65D Causes Loss of SOI
Furiz replied to Sn0wMan4's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
This is no bug, it is intentional, read EO-PRE mode from: -
Alright, thanks!

In EO-VIS mode with AGM-65, first TMS FORWARD will stabilize the TD box, Second TMS FORWARD will place SOI on the WPN page but then TGP starts drifting, it stabilizes only with TMF AFT. Track: TGP Drift VIS Maverick.trk
-
I noticed the drifting too, might be a bug. Btw TMS AFT with WPN page SOI stabilizes TGP.

I think you forgot how Viper flies and now you have a feeling that something is wrong. Viper always had to be trimmed with asimetric loadout. As for the AP, for me it works just fine. I don't think that you have to uninstall the module you can run repair of the game, cleanup and remove all mods that you have, - check that Trim/AP Disc Switch is set to NORM, - check that Air Refueling Door Control Switch is set to CLOSE, it disconnects the AP when OPEN. - and finally check that Paddle Switch is not depressed. those 3 can disconnect the AP.

Aha, alright, I noticed the change but didn't know if it was deliberate or not, thanks for the explanation @Raptor9
-
Noticed now that if I use VIS mode with JDAM or DTOS with GBU-12 and designate some target then switch back to PRE / CCRP it slews my TGP to STPT, it didn't do that before, something changed or it got bugged?

reported TGT-TO-VRP while in CCRP causes game crash

Please post a track, also remove mods and run repair and cleanup. -
Please check this, thanks.

Can the UHF radio display brightness be dimmed?
Furiz replied to gulredrel's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Yes you are right, nothing to dim that one. Maybe it doesn't have any light control since its not used that much. -
Reverse psychology?:) that doesn't work either, I'm sure ED knows the issues, it is not the first time this was mentioned, and as Wags said it is something ED is working on. But it is going to take time cause IADS and realistic SAMs will need some sort of AI modeling, which is very hard work.
-
I know they script them in campaigns to shut down, maybe server has scripts too.
-
Would love to see improved JTAC, would bring up the immersion to another level.
-
AI in general needs lots of work, ground and air AI. I'd love to see SAMs shutting down when HARM is fired, that would make it much harder to kill. In fact you would need one capable AI wingman (if in single player) or human wingman to kill that SAM. Then they magically turn on when they know you are in range, how do they know. IADS is much needed. Same for AI in the air, they know who you are and where you are from miles and miles away even with no Datalink or Radar or any IFF. But I guess ED knows this and works on this, the thing is that AI is really hard work and their team is not that big so we will have to be very patient.
-
It can fire all 4, the assumption was that it can fire the ones on outer stations. But after ED has done research the assumption was proven wrong. Yes we need track file of that happening.

2.8 loading textures takes a loooooong time.
Furiz replied to Das Boot's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I can confirm, for me in client slot it loads very slow, and in player slot it is instant. Also it will load slow if in player slot but other available slots are set to client. And if all other slots are set to player it will load instantly. So it is definitely tied to client slot. Any update on this issue? -
I did a little test and it turns out that if station 3 is loaded with some weapon and JDAM is on station 7 and the weapon is switched from sta3 to sta7, Snowplow on TGP screen with get removed, it appears for a brief moment and then its gone It only happens when JDAM is on station 7 and some other weapon on station 3, hot start aircraft in air. So, when Maverick or JDAM is in VIS mode there is no Snoplow or TGT option. However I did a little test and it turns out that if modes VIS and PRE are cycled with JDAM (used gbu-38) while it is powered OFF then SP, when JDAM is turned ON, will bug out and it will show for brief moment while entering PRE mode. here is a track: SP TGT gbu38 off.trk
