Silversmith Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 In Oculus rift VR, after switching on JHMS the sight only appears in the RIGHT eye, make it appear very strange. Should be easy to reproduce , just switch on JHMS whilst in VR
Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Right eye only here as well. I'm not sure this is a bug though, but it does produce an issue for streamers since the monitor only displays what's being sent to the LEFT eye ... ED Team cofcorpse Posted November 7, 2018 ED Team Posted November 7, 2018 It's not an issue. IRL HMD projects image only in front of pilot's right eye.
Eldur Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 [NOT A BUG] JHMS only in Right eye in VR I refer to an already locked thread as it's not a bug, but representing the real thing. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=224080 I was expecting this to come as there has been a thread about this before the release of the JHMCS already. Now I have to add this to the wishlist as an option in the Special tab to be able to set it up on the left eye instead or even have it projected to both. Why you'd ask. Well, it's for medical reasons, not all of us have Dynamic Eagle eyes - and it's often the case that one's better than the other and that not always being the right one. As I'm not suitable for RL flying at all, I have to do this virtually and I'm glad to be able to do so thanks to ED (and other companies as well), but being restricted in VR isn't a nice thing even if the real thing is just on the right eye. I don't even have a VR headset yet, but anticipate to get one next year, and I want to know that I can use it without restrictions from ED's side
Cthulhus Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Issue with JHCMS in VR ? Hello, Does it's normal that the JHCMS's display is only on one eye when using VR ? Shein Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 interesting. I know the cobra that the viper and hog drivers have IRL is one eye, but I thought the JHMCS was 2 eyes. Good to know.
Cthulhus Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 OKay nice ! If it's like the real, why not :) Can I know why it is like that on the real one? schurem Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Might be an idea to make it both eyes for VR as a concession to current gen VR limitations. I5 9600KF, 32GB, 3080ti, G2, PointCTRL
delevero Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 My guess is that it wont last long before a mod will be avaliable so people can choose what eye to use, or maybe even on both eyes. I dident try the JHCMS much, but in vr i could imagine it might be more pleasant in the long term to use both eyes. but lets see :)
DDSSTT Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Reposition HMD VR Is there a way to move the HMD in VR, it is way to far to the left and I can only read about half of it. It is not in the center in my right eye. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.csg-2.net/
Ala12Rv-Muscat Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Is there a way to move the HMD in VR, it is way to far to the left and I can only read about half of it. It is not in the center in my right eye. Please, an option to change JHMCS to left, right or both eyes, because not all of us have perfect vision in both eyes, maybe some see better through the right eye, others through the left... whether it's real or not. You can also configure other unrealistic options in the simulator, so please ED keep all users in mind. _______________________________________
DDSSTT Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 (edited) HMD Not CENTERED in Right Eye VR The HMD is not CENTERED in the Right Eye. It is too far to the left of Center. HTC Vive User. Is there a way to move it further to the right? I messed with forcing IPD but that doesn't change the location it displays. It is currently unplayable as it forces me to be cross-eyed to view the HMD. Trying to illustrate what my issue is. In the image, that T light on the deck is center view point and that’s where the HMD aligns. Seems there’s an Align button in the HMD menu, but of course it doesn’t do anything. sirrah Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 JHMCS in VR mode Is it normal that the JHMCS hud is only visible through one lense when in VR? It works fine, but only through the right lense of my Rift. Not sure if this is a bug, or reflects the real thing (it's doesn't feel normal and is kinda nauseating) Any other Rift users here that can confirm this? ST0RM Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 On the real JHMCS, it is a right eye display. However, from what I'm reading from my squad mates, the VR display is causing eye fatigue and feels as you described. I'm hoping they can continue to adjust it with a VR option to stereo the display to prevent it from causing long term issues.
backspace340 Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 It's realistic to be in one eye, but Wags has said they're looking into giving us the option of both eyes in the Special menu.
