I just asked the powers that be, and indeed you are wrong.

Just a little question to the powers that be.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the 7M wasn't a Navy weapon? I thought that the Navy went 7E-2 -> 7F -> 7P -> 7P bk 2.

I could of course be wrong.

Also does this confirm a revamp to missile guidance and ECCM logic? Since all three (4 if we include the bk 2) have the same aerodynamic performance (same shape and rocket motor).

Cheers

Okay, cool to note. I guess it makes sense that once once the USAF they might do a software update for their own jets, or just use M's after they upgraded to the P for cost savings. Maybe bought them all off the USAF after the USAF stopped using them for 120's.

Any word on the second part of my question? Or that still top secret hush hush?

I believe they stated before that AA would be done after AG missiles were done, that is all I know right now. I would imagine they will want the missiles to be the best they can be with all available information.

Weapons:

Mk-82 series

Mk-83 series

Mk-84 series

Mk-77 Fire Bomb

CBU-99 and Mk-20 Cluster Bombs

BDU-33 Training Bomb

BDU-45 Training Bomb

2.75 inch rockets

5 inch rockets

20mm cannon

AIM-9L/M and CATM Sidewinder

AIM-7F/M/P Sparrow

I really hope this means we will see the SUU-20 practice bomb dispenser for the Hornet module one day. It can be loaded with up to four 2.75 inch rockets and six BDU-33 Training bombs.

Also looking forward to the CATM Sidewinder.

Both make training missions much more realistic, loudout-wise, particularly when flying as a CF-18. :)

According to Chizh, effects will be developed later. So I take it it's not gonna be in early access.

We will get the Shrike? I did not know the Hornet used it? Can someone shed some light on that? Where and when has the Shrike been used with the Hornet?

It's not the F/A-18C, but F/A-18A have shot HARM and Shrike during El Dorado Canyon against Libya 1986.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that!

But has it ever been used with the 18C? I'm not necessarely talking about combat.

Can the C-model carry bombs on the centerline station? I've read about A-model marine hornets loading Mk82 and Mk83s on the centerline but I can't find any pictures of such a loadout.

armfa18.jpg

I also found this legacy hornet diagram that shows that double mounted bombs can be loaded on the centerline. Was this ever used?

I would also like to know this.

Can it even carry GBU-12 on center-line?
