Is ED working on the Vulcan API already?

They've been working on it from what they said in newsletters.

What does it do in DCS exactly? does it improve your GPU use? Since you are in the area.

Vulkan API is a Low Level GFX API, uses significantly less (if any) CPU per Object.

DirectX 1-11.3 is not a Low Level APU and uses a lot of CPU, especially in high object count scenes.

I have the NTTR 2.2 and 1.5.8 but neither is prompting an update and the Update DCS options in my start menu aren't doing it either, am I missing something?
1.5OB is the one being updated today. Tomorrow or Thur a full install will be available.

You can update to 2.5 OB by using the updater with this command: DCS_Updater.exe update @openbeta

See here for more information on how to use the updater: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030

Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Oh nevermind, it only says it did 1.5.8 again, i'm so confused haha

What do you mean by ''DCS_Updater.exe update @openbeta''

Find Eagle Dynamics -> DCS World -> bin

Should be in your program files or wherever your DCS install is located.

Click on the bin folder then hit shift and right click, select the option 'open command window here'. (On windows 7, might be different for other versions)

Once the command window is open type: DCS_Updater.exe update @openbeta

This will launch the updater configured to transfer your current branch to the open beta - I'm doing it right now to go from the 1.5.x release version to 2.5OB
