Brisse Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I wonder how big the poly count for that thing is? Looks very detailed. FPS killer?
Nate--IRL-- Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I wonder how big the poly count for that thing is? Looks very detailed. FPS killer? High poly? Compared to what? Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Pyroflash Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 why do they put such feature as priority? Because it is a necessity? Just because you can't see the plane on RADAR, that doesn't mean the pilot should be invisible. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
Linx Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Glad to see that they're still working on the project after the failed Kickstarter.
nap0leonic Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Because it is a necessity? Just because you can't see the plane on RADAR, that doesn't mean the pilot should be invisible. :megalol: nice twist... but seriously... ;)
Brisse Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 High poly? Compared to what? Nate Flanker 2.0 ? :music_whistling:
Simas Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I think the poly count for this pilot is OK, you can see the edges clearly. It's probably a proper use of 3Ds Max smoothing groups that make it look so extremely detailed.
TurboHog Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Nice to see an update! I hope it is all going to work out as intended! Just because you can't see the plane on RADAR, that doesn't mean the pilot should be invisible. :megalol: 'Frett'

Cobra847 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Everyones' a critic. Pilot is required for the external mesh.. obviously. The mesh itself looks alright on the polycount, guesstimate around 10,000 tris. Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/

Grim_Smiles Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Why the old HMD? Maybe more info available for it than the new one? ФрогФут Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Maybe more info available for it than the new one? I think old vs new was hardware difference, not what it indicated. Agreed! 19 July 2013 - DCS News Update 5- New images of the Nevada map. This past week we started rebuilding the Nevada map with the new map tools, but it is still early and very rough... a lot of tuning and tweaking to still be done. Thankfully, we are nearing the end of this long journey and it is on track to be released later this year (seriously). I'm sure many of you have lots of questions about the map and the technology behind it, but I'm afraid I have no answers for you at this time. I have no direct contact with the map team and no access to the map build. However, as the map nears release, I'm sure I will have more information to pass along. And we are getting ready to go into September...the ERRR months Intel i5-9600K @ 3.7GHz; Gigabyte Z370XP SLI Mobo; G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080 16GB 256-Bit GDDR6; Thermaltake Water 3.0 Certified Liquid Cooling System Windows 11 Professional HP Reverb G2 /TrackIR 5 in case VR dies; Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog w/ Thrustmaster T-Flight Rudder Pedals
