why do they put such feature as priority?

Because it is a necessity? Just because you can't see the plane on RADAR, that doesn't mean the pilot should be invisible.

If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

:megalol: nice twist... but seriously... ;)

I think the poly count for this pilot is OK, you can see the edges clearly. It's probably a proper use of 3Ds Max smoothing groups that make it look so extremely detailed.

Nice to see an update! I hope it is all going to work out as intended!

Why the old HMD?

Maybe more info available for it than the new one?

"Hurled headlong flaming from the ethereal sky; With hideous ruin and combustion down;
To bottomless perdition, there to dwell; In adamantine chains and penal fire"

(RIG info is outdated, will update at some point) i5 @3.7GHz (OC to 4.1), 16GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB, TrackIR 5 & TrackClip Pro, TM Warthog HOTAS, VKB T-Rudder Mk.IV, Razer Blackshark Headset, Obutto Ozone

I think old vs new was hardware difference, not what it indicated. No one is modeling HMD positioning or aberrations.

Edit:...

I see the coding part alone for representation of the F-35's systems taking a looooong time.

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

Yeah that's a cockpit that's gonna put someone in the fetal position sucking their thumb under their desk a few times over the course of development :)

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that EDGE will be released first.

Agreed!

19 July 2013 - DCS News Update

5- New images of the Nevada map. This past week we started rebuilding the Nevada map with the new map tools, but it is still early and very rough... a lot of tuning and tweaking to still be done. Thankfully, we are nearing the end of this long journey and it is on track to be released later this year (seriously). I'm sure many of you have lots of questions about the map and the technology behind it, but I'm afraid I have no answers for you at this time. I have no direct contact with the map team and no access to the map build. However, as the map nears release, I'm sure I will have more information to pass along.

And we are getting ready to go into September...the ERRR months

Intel i5-9600K @ 3.7GHz; Gigabyte Z370XP SLI Mobo; G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4

Windows 11 Professional

HP Reverb G2 /TrackIR 5 in case VR dies; Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog w/ Thrustmaster T-Flight Rudder Pedals

Really glad to hear KI are continuing this project

One assumes KI will create a 3rd party dev area once funding is agreed and in place?

The project by Kinny Interactive is still going to be released. They're not sure when it will be at this time since the kickstarter failed, but it's still happening.
