Yak-52 Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Why a Yak-52 in a combat simulator?

A: The Yakovlev Yak-52 is a tandem seat, radial engine, trainer aircraft that served as the primary aircraft trainer for the Soviet Union and many other nations. Introduced in 1979, the Yak-52 has been a popular choice among air forces given its rugged construction, ease of handling, tricycle landing gear, and simple maintenance. The DCS: Yak-52 provides a realistic pilot training progression from the Yak-52, to the L-39C jet trainer, to modern fighters like the MiG-29 and Su-27.

Q: Will we see the Yak-52B?

A: There are no current plans for bringing the version with weapons to DCS World at this time.

Q: Will it have multi-crew capabilities?

A: Yes, multi-crew is supported.

Q: What level will the systems and flight model be?

A: You can expect the professional flight model (PFM) and advanced system modelling (ASM). We have had incredible access to the real thing for flight model testing, system testing and sound recording.

Q: What is price going to be?

A: $39.99 USD

Q: Will it have the NS430 GPS unit in the cockpit?

A: Currently only the 2D version will work, and should work right on release if you already own the NS430 GPS 2D Version. No info currently on a 3D version right now.

Q: What language will the cockpit be in on release?

A: Currently we have a Russian. English & Chinese versions are WIP.

Q: What is the planned release date?

A: August 3rd, 2018 for 2.5 Open Beta and August 8th, 2018 for the 2.5 Release version.

Q: When will it be available on Steam?

A: August 15th, 2018.

Q: Will we get internal pilot models?

A: Yes!

Just for clarifications sake I believe it would be wise to add to the "Why the Yak in DCS" a brief note that the aircraft was contracted from ED and that it arrives for us to DCS as a sort of bonus.

That way some people have an easier time swallowing the fact that we get our first unarmed aircraft into the game from ED (not counting C-101 since the armed version is on its way).

Any news about a complete English cockpit? A lot of the instruments are still in Russian. If you can't read that (like me), it's quite hard to know at a glance, at which instrument to look at. :(
