Crikey, that's much more news than I was expecting.

 

A lot of it was just confirmation of stuff that was known, but some of it was genuinely a suprise, especially the multi seat capability and the new map + other stuff around the F18.

 

Feel a bit sorry for the Virtual Patriot chaps (and Tango especially) though considering it's been such a long standing project of theirs. I can only assume ED had/have a military contract and so had to keep schtum, or was used as a test bed for the backseat/frontseat stuff and became a real module (like the P51 did).

 

Aside from that, very good update and makes things look really rosy for DCS and ED.

If that's true GorgeLKMT, who is going to buy the Virtual Pilots L39 after ED has developed it's own? Sounds a little unfair for the third party developer.

 

For example, if ED made their version AFM+SSM and Virtual Patriots EFM(at PFM level)+ASM, I am definitely buying the Patriots version.

good news, but bad news too. Map of Normandy stopped, so we have to keep throwing bombs on modern vehicles, if only to add some vehicles and tanks of the time in the next update we would be slightly shorter waiting map.

I cant wait for the multiplayer cockpits, I can finally sit in the back, or co-pilots chair and eat bonbons while someone else does the work :D

 

Only 1 pilot in a Lancaster so stow those bonbons old bean.

It appears that Lancaster flight engineers also had pilots training, so maybe they could implement multiplayer seat swapping. (seat swapping is already possible in the Huey.)

Lots of great info in this update,A few things I find really interesting...

New Map for upcoming F/A-18 in development Could this be taking priority over Normandy because DCS Team can use 3D objects already created for Nevada? And Normandy needs to be created from scratch?

Top GunCould The New Hornet Map be Fallon Nevada or Miramar California former home of Top Gun?

Nevada This has been in development for the longest and will not be ready for DCS World 2.0. A bit disappointed with this since this has been my personal addition I've wanted over all the new modules.I can only assume that DCS 2.0 is not ready performance wise for all of The Amazing detail that's been created for NTTR.

Well most things has been said, and everybody knows that every game has bugs/problems of some kind.

And just when things get more clear and news has been released, people are gonna ask/wish for more, i.e. more dual seat combat aircraft.

And then cry about this as it will take another two years to develop the F-15E.

 

But just take notice of what this game will be like, in about a year from now !

not gonna put another list here but it is amazing and we all know that.

 

So, thanks to ED, partners and 3rd party devs for creating/updating/expanding this great sim !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I'm hoping to have eventually is:- DCS Update 2.0.0 + EDGE + NTR + Pilatus Pc21 + HAWK T1 + F-18C & E + Carrier Ops + (F-16C ?) + Any New Maps released would be great, I'm done for now!

Man when Wags talked about a "much larger update" he wasn't kidding around. Looks like we won't be waiting as long as I thought on the MiG-15, that cockpit looks great!

Anyone know why the discrepancy between the advertised sale price in the email and the actual price on the website?

 

 

Reluctant to buy anything in case I miss out or end up payming more than I need to.

 

The Huey has a $10 price difference ($14.99 in the email, $24.99 on the website store) and the A10C $4.00 ($11.99 on the email, $15.99 in the store)

I am very excited about L-39 news, apart its great look and flying qualities, it will be a perfect trainer for Mig-21 pilots :)

 

Yeah, I'm also very excited about the L-39 and it really would be the perfect trainer for the MiG-21, but it would have to be released before the MiG-21 module. It's funny, I have so eagerly waited the release of MiG-21 and now when it's near, it kinda feels that it would be good to have the Albatros first! :) Than we could do the training the right way.

 

Also, I'm curious about that ED & Virtual Patriots situation...
