drcarnage52 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Is there going to be a functioning ATIS as part of the new ATC system in DCS 2?
Pizzicato Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I was more under the impression that, for the same spec anyone already has, EDGE would bring improvements in Graphics performance (otherwise my GTX980 and 3 new screens will have been pointless). I hope 1.5 / 2.0 is not somehow pushing other boundaries that would negate such Graphics performance improvement. Can you shed any light on that? Check out this preview and go to the paragraph that begins "This brings us to the real meat of the article: in-game performance." There are obviously no guarantees, but it does sound promising. i7-7700K @ 4.9Ghz | 16Gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz | MSI Z270 Gaming M7 | MSI GeForce GTX 1080ti Gaming X | Win 10 Home | Thrustmaster Warthog | MFG Crosswind pedals | Oculus Rift S

Pizzicato Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Access?? :joystick: You mean selective access? No, not selective. Just access, i.e. "an announcement that the beta is now accessible". Strikes me as rather unlikely, though. i7-7700K @ 4.9Ghz | 16Gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz | MSI Z270 Gaming M7 | MSI GeForce GTX 1080ti Gaming X | Win 10 Home | Thrustmaster Warthog | MFG Crosswind pedals | Oculus Rift S

didilman Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Mid September is the 15th, not the 10th. I know that but U read my sentence wrong or I write it wrong sorry.
joebloggs Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 They said mid-end september so atleast after 10th september I guess. Where did you read about it been after Sept 10th? the last I heard it was just September and no exact date.
HiJack Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Where did you read about it been after Sept 10th? the last I heard it was just September and no exact date. some translation from the Russian forum I belive was posted but it mentioned mid to late September.
QuiGon Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Mid September is the 15th, not the 10th. I guess he meant it like that: Beginning of September: 1st - 10th Mid of September: 11th - 20th End of September: 21st - 30th So mid of September would start after the 10th. Blooze Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Oh yes! It was covered in one of the early live streams that Wags did, but basically a new option will be added to the menu called "Vehicle Icons". You will be offered to choose, "none" (which is how it is now), "normal" and "enlarged". "Normal" and "Enlarged" will replace 3d objects (planes, vehicles, etc.) at a certain distance with specific icons which from what Ive seen from the streams look very good and can be seen much, much further away. It's a very elegant solution and KUDOS to ED for implementing it. Since becoming aware of this new feature I have wondered which option will the closest to representing realism and if "Enlarged" might be considered a cheat. I suppose only a RL pilot would know for sure. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Solty Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) Since becoming aware of this new feature I have wondered which option will the closest to representing realism and if "Enlarged" might be considered a cheat. I suppose only a RL pilot would know for sure. It is not a cheat when everybody can have it, depending on the server settings. I would consider it cheat if everyone was flying with "normal" setting while somebody would enable "enlarged" only for himself. Rabbit_ Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Damn I can't wait. In fact, I bought new SSD just for DCS 1.5 and all future modules. :-D

I would consider it cheat if everyone was flying with "normal" setting while somebody would enable "enlarged" only for himself. ED categorizes Start Procedure (Autostart) for the A-10C a cheat in the options/control menu even though it is available to everyone so I meant it within that context. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Chann3l Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Anyone know if the standalone 1.5 release coincides with the steam release or should I just switch over to standalone?
Rykane Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Anyone know if the standalone 1.5 release coincides with the steam release or should I just switch over to standalone? I'm guessing like most modules, the standalone of 1.5 will come out via the open beta branch and will eventually come to the open beta branch on steam (If it has one) a few days/weeks later after the standalone.

Thanks, I just bought the mig15 from the dcs site so I'm currently switching over to standalone anyway so I guess it's irrelevant now lol. Is there an option after installing the stand alone to opt into open beta?
