They have not, but it is one of very few aircraft that fits most if not all the hints given earlier this year, that is not still classified in some way. Also, about halv of leathernecks development team is swedish, so they might have some personal interest in finally getting a full DCS level sim of a SAAB aircraft out there. :-) (and being a swede myself, i would love it if that was the case! :joystick: ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My un-knowledgeable mind about the Viggen tells me that it did not have a "Ground Mapping and Targeting Radar" more than a radar that could scan the ground for navigational cues. I don't think there is much reasonable doubt that it's a Viggen. I'm not overly excited about DCS: Viggen, it's a low priority aircraft to me. Saab always represented beauty and the beast for me... Draken being the beauty here naturally. However beast Viggen would do as well... The Viggen did have ground mapping radar and I'm pretty sure than targeting as well. It's avionics were considered quite impressive for the 1970s. As has been stated several times by the devs, they have no interest in this, they want to do a proper announcement with working videos, PR material and the lot of it. They want to be ready to deliver a product quickly after announcing it and they want it to be good. The way the F-14 was announced was a one-off, and should not be expected to be the way things work. What would be best was just to lock down or ban these pointless speculation threads (really just even more pointless wishlist threads anyway) and just let LN finish their work in peace without soon 3000 posts of people doing "speculation" that gets nowhere Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
