King_Hrothgar Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Thanks for the update, I'm particularly pleased to have official confirmation on updating the rest of the FC3 planes to more modern standards. It's been long assumed, but official confirmation is always nice. :) I'd also like to thank you for giving an explanation as to where things stand in regards to DCS2. It certainly isn't what many here were hoping for, but I appreciate the honesty.

Raven68 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Aside from the announcement of the delay I do agree that PFM for the Su-33 is going to be awesome. I do wonder how the PFM for the F-18C is going also since the F-15 & Su-27 PFM were to to set the path for the F-18C. One would think that with the time since the announcement that things should be looking pretty solid. Woogey Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) The F-18C has correct Hey SilverDragon, You are correct, the Export Hornets use the Same style MFD For the Center. The U.S. version does not. Does this really matter? To Me, the U.S. version should be the one that E.D. models, as it is the most prolific, and the Country of origin for the Aircraft. -Woog Edited June 17, 2015 by Woogey
ED Team NineLine Posted June 17, 2015 ED Team Posted June 17, 2015 Constructive Criticism: The center MFD on the Hornet is wrong. It should be Square not hexagonal like the top two. Until you know exactly what ED is modelling, its hard to critique these things I think. Stuff like this can change over the years I think, and as far as I understand it, they have a Hornet pilot SME, but dont quote me on that. MiG21bisFishbedL Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I wish I could be disappointed in you, ED, but the Fulcrum update has me far too happy for that. Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!
Eddie Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 No, I see what he is saying. The corners of the bottom MFD screen are not sharp corners. Looking at the top it's off even more. Now, granted it could all be in the angle as well. That all depends on what block ED are modelling, there are 3 different centre display types used in the F-18C (HI/MPCD/AMPCD).

Flogger23m Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 AFM for both MIG-29 & Su-33? Sounds great. I assume this carries over to all MIG-29 variants. Are there any differences in the cockpits between the A & S? Looking forward to these updates. Very good news as far as I am concerned. I knew there would be another delay for DCS World 2. Too bad. Hopefully we'll see the FC3 updates before it is released then.

I can understand multiple players in the same aircraft but the other feature isn´t clear for me. Thanks. I suppose they mean multiple players in one flight. Now it is possible to have only player+ai wingmen in one flight. each player needs to have separate flight (=group) at this moment. Actually, we can´t assign "humans" companions on the same flight (4 aircraft group) to work on multi-player by the editor. Can be that new feature with that? I'm pretty sure it just means that we will be able to have multiple players within one group, that's all. As right now if you want to create a mission for 4 A10C players for example you have to literally create 4 A10C groups, create separate waypoints for each group, triggers, etc. Having the ability to put multiple players within one group in mission editor is nice step forward. It will make mission making simpler. smirkza Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 An honest question from an honest Joe - Given the new delay (which sounds like it is entirely for the right reasons) how much extra work/time would it entail to utilise DirectX 12 instead of 11? What would the benefits of such a move be? (outside of performance gains). Is it something even remotely feasible, or would we be talking another 2-3 years development time? Sorry for what might be a daft question, Smirks PS - I have a new desktop background in the shape of that stunning A10 pic - thanks :D Cheers, Smirkza
Dappman Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I also have questions about dcs2 multiplayer. Are we going to be able to change controls in multiplayer? Is there going to be some kind of ranking system?

Sorry for what might be a daft question, Smirks PS - I have a new desktop background in the shape of that stunning A10 pic - thanks :D Directx12 is not released yet so pretty much impossible at this point.. Also no one knows exactly which OSes will support 12 (I think only Windows 10 and that hasn't been released yet either.) And even if it WAS released recently, changing to DirectX12 could push the timeframe for DCSW 2.0 out much further yet... Let's just wait and see what DCSW 2 with DirectX 11 has for us.. "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
Esac_mirmidon Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Thanks Ianmancz. This makes sense. Only one flight plan for every flight group could be a great improvement in MP. BKZerg Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) As someone told "Best is oftentimes the enemy of the good". Seems to me, you have something to release after this long and hard work. Push it out. Fine tuning must be based on users response. Edited June 17, 2015 by =BK=Zerg
