I hope at some point there will be enough 4th generation full-fidelity modules to completely ban FC3 from servers.

I'm a bit confuse. Some people are posting that the update is not out, but I just tried 1.5.7.7631.314 and although is not fully implemented, the aircraft does behave differently. Maybe is wishful thinking on my part. Wing folding is definitely slower, it seem to me some of the slow speed handling is different. You can still spin on the ground like a wooden top thrown with a string, but things do seem different, to what extend? Not sure.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Is the Su-33 ground-attack capable? I've never flown it before because of the SFM physics, now it gets interesting with the new FM. It's a great match to the Hornet, really looking forward to it.

No, it never used it.

Yes there are pictures with it but it never used it outside of testing.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

I remember that in FC1, Kh-41 could be strapped in the Su-33, isn't it possible any more?

Kh-41 never enter on service. The "famous" pic was only a "mockup" missile.

The Kh-41 / Kh-35 / Kh-31 and others air to ground missiles never was implemented on Su-33 (that use the same combat weapon system of Su-27).

when the release the standalone of su33?

Hi,

nice to see this info about update after the first news more than 2 years ;) ago. I hope it will be soon but I have question about the new Kuzniecow model.

Will it be released in the same period like improved Su-33? Im affraid how model with PFM will work with standard carrier. On screenies I noticed also wrong configurations of Kuzniecow for Su-33 take off. This railings are moving so on ED screenies the configuration is wrong (perhaps model isnt finished yet). For take off railings must be in down positions:

Example of up positions:

So this part of carrier must be animated automatically in the final version.

"The physical mechanisms by which the arrestor hook engages the aircraft carrier arrestor wire has been greatly improved. Correct physics have been applied to the arrestor wire and its’ interaction with the aircraft."

I am very curious about this statement and what it means. If you recall from one of the videos of the Hornet from the Convention a couple of weeks ago, there was a shot of the arresting cable payed out on the deck after being disengaged by the tail hook, and it looked like a 3D object with some volume to it rather than a single line drawn on the screen. It then appeared to be retracted back into the ready position. I am very excited by this development!

No info on the MiG-29 right now.

Since the SU-33 upgrade will be inbound in the foreseeable future, does this statement still apply? :D

Big thx to ED for the SU-33 by the way - carrier looks awesome as well

No, I'm sorry I do not. It was just a quick shot taken from the F2 view I believe, right after the person sitting in the chair with the Oculis VR goggles on had just trapped and if memory serves, it was the new build of the CVN, not the Carl Vinson we have in game right now. MUCH more detailed flight deck. Maybe you could find it in the thread about DCS at the E3 convention.

I believe the cables animation is in 2.1

Personally, I couldn't care less what it looks like (or even if its animated) as long as its physics and its interaction with the ship and airframe is simulated to DCS standards.
