Bucic Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Improved graphics. Believe it or not I stopped playing DCS BS1 solely because of how awfully the sky looked like combined with the issues with Shkval rendering distances/transparency. Poor graphics are one thing but outright technology cruft and effects made by unskilled graphic makers are something I cannot stand. With the latest DCS 1.x iterations most of those are gone and I hope with 2.0 there's not going to be a single piece of techno cruft left. The second would be the improved sound API. It's weird that there have been literally nothing published on the subject. Sporg Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Actually, apart from graphics and ability to see enemy units from further away, one of the features I anticipate quite a bit is collidable trees. :) Both in WW II fighters and in helicopters this this will add to the immersion. :) Hope they will implement it in a good way. For instance, I hope every tree is not a "steel rod" but give varying damage depending on how you hit it: Angle, speed, how high up, how close etc. System specs: Gigabyte Aorus Master, i7 9700K@std, GTX 1080TI OC, 32 GB 3000 MHz RAM, NVMe M.2 SSD, Oculus Quest VR (2x1600x1440) Warthog HOTAS w/150mm extension, Slaw pedals, Gametrix Jetseat, TrackIR for monitor use

Jumbik Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 The most anticipated feauture of 1.5? Hmm i would say the release date. :D But i think the combined .exe of simulation and frontend is most welcome change for me. archer86 Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 not sure for 1.5 but for 2.0 ,I expect high resolution clouds and their shadows.
kontiuka Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 not sure for 1.5 but for 2.0 ,I expect high resolution clouds and their shadows.Considering 2.0 is coming in November, I wouldn't expect all the fancy effects at initial release.
kontiuka Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I'm very curious to see how the AI is improved. I'm especially interested to see AI flight leads and how effective they are at giving orders.
Crunchy Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I'm looking forward to the 30th Sept or before and placing the Oculus Rift on my head to play DCS 1.5.

Haukka81 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Soul for dcs, now we have nice sim but so,so sterile feel in it.. Better mission/campaing editor + better mission generator + better AI will help lot, and all old bugs get fixed finally i hope. Graphics are not so important in sim , everything else is. (performance, AI, immersion, stability) AND finally better spotting system, this is one of the best new things in 1.5/2.0 , no more so blind virtual pilots :) Oculus CV1, Odyssey, Pimax 5k+ (i5 8400, 24gb ddr4 3000mhz, 1080Ti OC ) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Rogue Trooper Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 for me, I think at the end of the day the most important thing from 1.5 (2.0) is performance and high FPS. Buzzles Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Me? I'm looking forward to 1.5 hitting. Just 1.5. Why? Because it's a massive patch and code restructure behind the scenes, and due to it being on the horizon for a long time we've only had small module updates over the past year while waiting for it. Getting 1.5 our the door should mean we get back to a schedule of chunkier updates on a more frequent basis :) Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
