DCS World 1.5 and 2.0 Discussion

Thanks.

I was thinking it would be more in the lines of anyone using 1.5 will get a update to 2.5 and anyone using 2.0 will update to 2.5?

No need to uninstall 2.0 Alpha it will just update to version 2.5. Hope that clears it up. Currently I only use 2.0 since I only want the Nevada map for my upcoming squadron.

This is some fun stuff to discuss and read on the speculation of what will happen in the next major update. I do wonder, however when it does happen will 2.5 be released in a "beta" state and 2.0 become the new public version? Perhaps as it has been mentioned already go straight to 2.5 public release? Either way, more exciting times are coming!

I doubt it, if anything it will probably be 2.5 to open beta while public will remain 1.5 and then after debugging public to 2.5, 2.0 to thin air and then back to the normal public and open beta releases, but none of know so i guess we will have to wait :)

Somebody else give this a test please, but I think they actually fixed it.

Non-AA AI units (tank MG/BMP/Bradley etc) no longer seems to have flawless aim. Even if you fly in a straight line they can be off by quite a bit.

I'm flying with A10C at T55s pulling off at last second and they barely ever hit me, where doing that before would lead to critical damage 50% of the time.

Gonna test some more, if its actually fixed this is amazing.

Oh yes, they definitely fixed this. Just setup a test against 4 BMP-3s and they never hit me once, and I was making it very easy for them.

You think you are up for a change? Think about those moving in against advancing or scattered forces in the Shark.

final install

Hi all, it's been months since I quit playing DCS. One reason was because I said to myself wait to have the hall word in one install instead of having three separate.

I visit forums almost every day and haven't seen a word about migration of the 3 install to one.

Is there anything new about that or a link I didn’t see?

Soon (or in Two Weeks)

DCS World Update

Our current focus is on the merger of DCS World 1.5 with DCS World 2.0. This version, termed DCS world 2.5, will return us to a unified DCS version with the new graphics engine and be capable of supporting multiple maps. In addition to these features, we also plan to include an improved Caucasus map, new and improved explosions and clouds, improved network code, and the new procedural grass and ground clutter.
