QuiGon Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 When will the F4U be released? Unkown Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Mr_sukebe Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 If we can have both US and British carriers, this would definitely be a day 1 purchase for me. 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat
franco8445 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 then the maximum would be if they did the pacific map. . . F4U vs A6M5

Lixma 06 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 then the maximum would be if they did the pacific map. . . F4U vs A6M5 Wildcat v Zero is fun. Corsair v Zero is slaughter.
javelina1 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Wildcat v Zero is fun. Corsair v Zero is slaughter. Hellcat v Zero, double slaughter... ;) anxiously await the Corsair, (some day). MSI MAG Z790 Carbon, i9-13900k, NH-D15 cooler, 64 GB CL40 6000mhz RAM, MSI RTX4090, Yamaha 5.1 A/V Receiver, 4x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro NVMe, 1x 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD, Win 11 Pro, TM Warthog, Virpil WarBRD, MFG Crosswinds, 43" Samsung 4K TV, 21.5 Acer VT touchscreen, TrackIR, Varjo Aero, Wheel Stand Pro Super Warthog, Phanteks Enthoo Pro2 Full Tower Case, Seasonic GX-1200 ATX3 PSU, PointCTRL, Buttkicker 2, K-51 Helicopter Collective Control
Cunctator Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Realistically all we will get is Fleet Air Arm Corsairs vs. Fw 190A8 for a long time. B.t.w. it would be great if they could include a clipped wing FAA version:
Hiromachi Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Hellcat v Zero, double slaughter... ;) I'd actually prefer to fight in A6M5 a Hellcat rather than Corsair. A lot closer in terms of performance than the latter one :pilotfly: AMD Ryzen 5900X @ 4.95 Ghz / Asus Crosshair VII X470 / 32 GB DDR4 3600 Mhz Cl16 / Radeon 6800XT / Samsung 960 EVO M.2 SSD / Creative SoundBlaster AE-9 / HP Reverb G2 / VIRPIL T-50CM / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Audio Technica ATH-MSR7

Jester986 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 I wonder if DCS could possibly support torpedoes?
QuiGon Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 I wonder if DCS could possibly support torpedoes? I wish. A P-3 Orion or a SH-60 Sea Hawk, armed with Torepods to hunt some subs would be awesome. But that would require a sonar simulation as well. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Jester986 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 I was thinking about attacking Japanese flattops in a TBM or such with the F-4 escorting me.

Rakkis Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 I was thinking about attacking Japanese flattops in a SBD or such with the F-4 escorting me. Fixed that for you :music_whistling::smilewink: In all seriousness though, after the Corsair, if we got a Zero, then TBF/SBD, Val/Kate and a Pacific Map (I think Solomon Islands offer best land sea mix) we'd be in some serious business. One can dream.

AG-51_Razor Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 I believe that for so many reasons - play balance, interesting terrain and historical time period - that the Solomon Islands would be the perfect area to map for a Pacific Theater, especially for the F4U-1D. Can't wait to give Magnitude my money!! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Birko Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 One can definitely dream. Would love some WWII carrier aircraft and some pacific action, the Corsair is very much on my wishlist!
Silver_Dragon Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Remember a Ju-88 Torp has in progress and was a sub launched cruise missiles into DCS never implemented. Evader Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I would buy every WWII Pacific theater plane and Map. Nothing touches WWII in the Pacific for Carrier Ops. Of course I grew up watching Black Sheep Squadron (VMF-214), so the Powerful F4U Corsair has always been a favorite!
