baltic_dragon Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 I thought I would give you a small update on campaign progress: - 11 missions are ready, last one (the most complex I think) is in production - we should end with around 1200 recorded lines (I haven't counted the exact number yet and there will be more when I return to the first missions and update them with things that have been / will be added by devs later on, like IFF or INS) - there are different types of mission - from training, through ground attack with different munitions, escort, interception / CAP and even CSAR :) Once I finish mission 12 I would like to move into the beta-testing phase. I will make a separate announcement, but if you already feel you would like to help with that, please feel free to contact me. For more information, please visit my website. Can't wait to get a full operational M2000C in your dedicated campaign. :D

Sryan Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 mudspike.com previewed the campaign. http://www.mudspike.com/preview-baltic-dragons-mirage-2000c-campaign-for-dcs-world/ Check my F-15C guide
baltic_dragon Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 A quick update: the campaign is ready in its beta stage, obviously there is quite a lot of polishing and bug squashing to do, but it is fully playable. So I got to a stage where I would need a small group of people willing to dedicate their time in order to help with the beta-testing. That would require some patience, as each of the 12 missions should be flown a few times and obviously some time (for flying and reporting back). If you are interested, please PM me here! I am creating a simple website for all my projects where I would have a dedicated part of the forum for campaign testing, so all the beta testers would be required to register with ENJIN account (pretty easy to do). Looking forward to hearing back from you guys! For more information, please visit my website. TheSnark Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 What sort of experience is required? I have mostly flown the helicopter campaigns and haven't gotten far yet with fighters.
baltic_dragon Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 Lack of experience with fighters is an asset as I want to have a campaign tested by both veterans and quite new players - especially that it has a training component too! ZHeN Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 please, dragon! https://github.com/ciribob/DCS-JTACAutoLaze this script gives us guaranteed lasing why wouldn't you use it in your campaign? unguided air-to-ground munitions at their current state are so far from being much fun to play ... Yurgon Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 I second this decision If you i include a working script for Laser guided bombs in the campaign it would be 100 times more fun to play Can't speak for BD here, but that seems like a workaround, and who knows if it gets broken with an update, and then the missions would need to be fixed, and tested, and pushed to ED, and then included in the next update - in the meantime, a whole bunch of people couldn't continue the campaign. I'd say with official missions it's usually a good idea to stick to the basics that come with the game and not rely too heavily on 3rd party scripts. Besides, I just test-flew the final mission of the campaign and if anyone says this campaign is anything less than great, they should ask their brain surgeon for some help. Getting 100 times more fun out of it, I don't think my nervous system could handle that much fun. :D
baltic_dragon Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 (edited) Hey guys, As much as I'd love to give it a go, I can't for several reasons: A) Yurgon is right by saying that using any workarounds increases the chance that something will be broken with one of the updates. The campaign already has lots of triggers (way more than 1000) and as you can imagine adding something that can stop working at any moment may overcomplicate things for me. B) The campaign is finished and goes through beta - testing. I get lots of useful and valuable feedback from the guys and putting everything they suggest (and 90% of the suggestions are valid and good!) will take some time and quite a lot of work. To include use of LGB would require to re-write one of the missions, and again, that would be a lot. C) The way it works now there actually is no space for mission with laser guided bomb, especially the last one - the target is so deep in enemy territory that there would be little chance that any laser - capable friendly forces could get there... I think you will understand when you play it! LOL at Yurgon's last comment :) unguided air-to-ground munitions at their current state are so far from being much fun to play ... Remeber that the campaign should be out together with the final release of Mirage (or at least much more advanced) - which means that unguided munitions SHOULD be much more fun to play. Even at this stage it still is fun everytime I test the missions. Even got a few direct hits on the BMP with Snake Eye... it is doable! Edited May 6, 2016 by baltic_dragon For more information, please visit my website. Nooch Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 The campaign should take place in the late 80's or early 90's. The version we have of the Mirage was used by the French Air Force only at this period. So American planes should be armed with sparows and Russian planes with R-27R and R-27T. It would be much more realistic. A no brainer in my opinion. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Mirage 2000C has been recently deployed in Poland and Baltic air police missions. It has been deployed this year in Africa as bomb truck with GBU-12 alongside Mirage 2000D. Super 530D has been in use until 2012. So yes, from year 2000 the spear head of FAF air defense would have been Mirage 2000-5. But just forget the date and it will work. Mirage fanatic ! I could be wrong but I think by that time all RDIs had been upgraded to the -5 standard. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
