I have had a few PM questions lately so I thought I would go ahead and make a post. I suffered a stroke a month ago and have been in the hospital for a while.

 

I am recovering well but some of my mobility is limited. I am not looking for sympathy, I just wanted to let folks know why I have not been around the forum lately.

 

EDIT: Had to edit this post a couple of times. My typing sucks with only one hand.

I had an aneurysm that I had no idea I had, burst in 2001, at age 50. My left leg was rubber. Migraine sufferers? It is worse!!

 

Physical therapy and a lot of it got me back fairly well. Leg is still messed up. I take 2 canes with me.

 

Seizures started 2 years ago, a direct result of the bleed.

 

Life goes on. Don't quit. Don't give up. Keep trying. Keep plugging along.

 

I think depression is the worst part; meds are available, just ask your doc.

 

I type with one finger, each hand, usually. LOL! Turn spell-check on. To shift or tab on left side use a mouth stylus.

 

Might take the edge off your dog-fighting skills...

Thanks for the sentiment.

 

I suspect it is going to be a while. I am playing with a pedal strap so that I can use my rudders with one foot but the hand issue is going to be a problem.

 

EDIT: And before anyone asks. I don't sleep for more than a couple hours at a time anymore, so I might might post at odd hours for my time zone.

Yeah strokes suck. I had one in my early 30s, but a lot milder than yours sounds. My speech took a year to get to the point where people didn't think I was drunk all the time, but I only had very mild physical effects. Hope you get better asap. The physical therapy is hard, but the harder you go at it the better the results. Remember your brain is fairly plastic and will compensate for the damage, it just takes time and effort. Good luck and thinking of you.

HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!.

Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). About the same time as you, my mum suffered a stroke as well; she's still in the hospital and it looks like recovering will take a very long time. :(

Take care, hope all is going well with you now..I myself will be retiring Dec.30/16( 67 years young ) after 24 years at this company..looking forward to some leisure time..and flying with DCS alot more often..along with some other projects..

Thanks for all the good wishes guys. Life doesn't always go the way you expect it so I am dealing with the hand I have been dealt.

 

I do have to say that setting up a smart house is the best thing I ever did. My lights, music, video and alarm system can all be controlled by voice, or my phone. It was convenient before, now it is a godsend.
