There is some flickering in the trees but I did not tweak anything just took the default high setting and went for it. Frames appear smooth though I did not check the numbers.

I told you the trees were dangerous. I just nicked the tail but damaged something because she became wobbly and I landed a bit rough. :D

 

 

EDIT: Btw, I wanted to try looking at the replay, to see the tree impact, but never got the chance since as soon as I hit quit, DCS quit responding.

One thing that I do think needs some work is the transition from the grassy terrain to the sand, along the coastline. It is entirely too uniform, in many cases it parallels the waterline exactly. Coastlines just don't evolve like that. They might appear to be parallel at several thousand feet but not at fifty.

Have you tried it with the CV1 yet? These screenshots look awesome. With the lighting improvements it looks to be every much as big of an upgrade as DCS1.2 to 1.5.

I am enjoying the detail too much to ruin it by using the low resolution of VR. I am using a 40" 4k display. Maybe after a I have flown around a bit more, as, thus far I have only explored a little bit.

 

Next stop, England.

 

EDIT: I am not sure we are seeing new lighting in this version. I won't swear to it, and I have only flown at the default time of 12 noon. I will have to alter the time for my next flight.
