I got better frames on this one and was able to set the "Visib range" to High and still have 50-60 FPS. I struggled a lot to get the Hotas working but after renaming "Input" folder and let DCS recreate it everything works fine. I copied back the keyboard .diff files and got my reassignments back. Tok a little bit of work but :)

I also had a lot of lag on some of the old "Single" missions but when recreating a mission similar everything worked fine. Any special reason for old missions to not work well? Some replaced unit with other settings maybe? It looks like it's better to make new missions and scrap the old. :noexpression:

It looks like more work is being done on the lighting so was not added to the notes as completed, However changes have been done.

As far as I can tell the waves issue will be added to a future patch.

Thanks for the info Bignewy!

Yeah, worked for me. I am able to enter the cockpits again. I quickly tested A10A, AV8 and M2k.

Just noticed the beautiful radiance effect of the snow when the sun is low in the sky...really makes a difference!!...also the reflections on the water have been smoothed (now they match the fog of the distance)...nice improvements, love this kind of details, please go on!!

Also the terrain is far less plastic/glossy looking when the sun is low in the sky, much better looking.

Update is here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3423375&postcount=5

No memory or lighting fixes though :(

But the MP fixes are great!

Seems like I was wrong. According to the newsletter memory leaks have been adressed by the update, although the changelog doesn't say anything about it:

DCS World 2.5 Open Beta Update 4

Since the third update to the DCS World 2.5 Open Beta, the team has focused their efforts on loading time, memory leaks, and performance issues in the Open Beta. In this 4th update, we believe we have largely addressed these issues.

I would adamantly disagree with the performance issues being largely fixed, my DCS actually runs worse now than pre-update #4. I went as far as doing a complete reinstall and had the same results :(

They are working on them yes, but there are still many issues w/ memory. Best not to say they are fixed until they are all fixed.

People are having luck deleting their fxo folder in saved games and seeing more improvements in performance, if you are having issues, that is worth a try at least.

Whenever I read this - and that does happen quite often, I'm thinking about all the poor people who are not very active in the forum. Is there really no better way to handle this?

The Saved Games folders arent altered by the game, but I agree it needs to be looked at, and I believe there is already a request to the team to do so.
