33-DFTC Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 I'm eagerly awaiting for the final manual to start flying the Mirage. Thank you for the hard work and efforts. There are only two types of aircraft, fighters and targets. - Major Doyle "Wahoo" Nicholson, USMC
Johnny Dioxin Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Keep in mind: most radio encryption procedures are classified. Most radio systems in DCS are approximations of the real thing that are built for use within the scope of a simulation in lieu of real life training. Not just the procedures that are classified - I nearly had a heart attack when I realised I had left a BID in a public telephone box during field testing! Fortunately, it was still there when I returned (life flashing before my eyes) I say it's their fault for insisting we carry it about our person all the time so no-one could get their hands on it. Rig: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS; Ryzen 7800X3D ; 64GB DDR5 5600; RTX 4080; VPC T50 CM2 HOTAS; Pimax Crystal Light I'm learning to fly - but I ain't got wings With my head in VR - it's the next best thing!
baltic_dragon Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 Update - navigation and INS part complete (and that was a big one to do), the only major part to do is Weapons, but most of it is alredy written - so we are almost there! 1 For more information, please visit my website. baltic_dragon Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 Depending when it will arrive. I will do it as soon as it is available - may get a beta version to you without Master Modes. But in principle I don’t want to include descriptions of “how things should work “ but “how they work in the sim”. For more information, please visit my website. jaguara5 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Will also FM performance charts included in the manual? And is the FM / FBW section with all the latest changes completed ? A detailed system description and SOP use (like these posts https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3333699#post3333699 ) is essential since the M2000 is in some aspects unique.
baltic_dragon Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 Fly By Wire part should be up to date. As for the charts I will need to check with Cpt Smiley, but I am not sure that these are available... For more information, please visit my website. SinusoidDelta Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 (edited) Fly By Wire part should be up to date. As for the charts I will need to check with Cpt Smiley, but I am not sure that these are available... I’d be happy to create / contribute charts for some of the basic NATO style performance charts based on performance data obtained from the DCS. For example level flight acceleration, climb and range at different drag indexes. Here are some simple quick and dirty charts I created for flight tests https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=194752 Edited December 23, 2017 by SinusoidDelta 1

SinusoidDelta Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Many thanks, we might use some help with that - though most probably we will have some tables made available by people responsible for the FM update. No problem! Being provided raw data / tables and visualizing into graph form would be the most efficient method for me. Happy Holidays!

baltic_dragon Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 Another update. Manual is practically ready - going through review by the experts that helped develop M-2000C module. After that It just will need a few screenshots and final touches before being released. It currently stands at around 280 pages. For more information, please visit my website. jaguara5 Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Perhaps some information about close formation flying could also be added in the manual (if it's not already done yet). The correct position for the Mirage 2000 is the following: The wingman must align (in his sight) the navigation wingtip light with the wing duct of his flight leader and maintain the nozzle position view (Attached is a screenshot). The information is coming form an old video, captured during real HAF Mirage 2000 pre flight briefing. In this video the instructor said, also, that in order to maintain proper position, very small and gently inputs on the stick and the throttle must be done, he emphasized that throttle movement should not exceed 1% rpm, and is performed by ''pushing'' the throttle lever rather than ''moving'' it.Screen_180108_004031.rar
Azrayen Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Good:) It seems you forgot (I didn't see the video yet) about vertical staging, the first parameter for a close formation flight: The wingman must see both the upper and under sides of the wing of his leader. étagement, retrait, écartement (in this order) :) In English (my translation, sorry if not the most appropriate): vertical staging, longitudinal spread, transversal spread (side distance)
33-DFTC Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 This is great news ! Having a proper flight manual is the only way I can get interested and fly a module. Thank you for the hard work. There are only two types of aircraft, fighters and targets. - Major Doyle "Wahoo" Nicholson, USMC
33-DFTC Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Hi there Baltic_Dragon, Is there any news on the manual status ? Last time we heard about it, it was being reviewed by a bunch of people. Thank you)) There are only two types of aircraft, fighters and targets. - Major Doyle "Wahoo" Nicholson, USMC
baltic_dragon Posted January 31, 2018 Author Posted January 31, 2018 It still is being reviewed, we're on page 240 out of 300, so it is a matter of a few days, perhaps a week!
