blue281269 Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 why say its this week when HEATBLUR state "A quick look at our near final LANTIRN targeting pod shader and effects stack. The F-14 launches with an in-depth simulation of the LANTIRN TGP!" How can they release this week when there still working on the tgp???? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Alicatt Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Looks very good and can hardly wait to try it out :joystick: Why the censor on the co-ordinates? How will the poor RIO know where he is looking? Okay I know it's to make it kind of like what we see on the news programs :) Sons of Dogs, Come Eat Flesh Clan Cameron

They haven't said a thing. Throttle down and anticipate March 21.

beppe_goodoldrebel Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Those blurred GPS points... are they intentional in game or just for the video? Was that an OPSEC omission for the Operation Hype Train? :)

I sometimes think prank is intended by people posting unofficial release dates? It is safer to put expectations on not later than 21st March. Was that an OPSEC omission for the Operation Hype Train? :) With this community and Heatblur´s history of teasing and hidden messages I´m indeed surprised that nobody has found out yet where on what map that target is, what kind of building it is in real life and nobody has deciphered the blurred parts yet, because maybe the street adress or the zip-code of the target could give a hint to the release date :matrix: :D

Looney Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 (edited) Well, next to Area it states M1688, this could be the laser code, not sure. I've tried GEOREF coordinates but came up empty. Edit: Apparantly, AREA means the Lantirn is ground stabilized. Dino Might Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 The line shows you where the airframe of the aircraft will be obscuring the view of the TGP. The small white dot at the 12:30 position shows where the TGP is looking and once that dot crosses beyond the line the airframe will be in the way, you won't be able to see the target and you will be "masking". This was possible with the F-14 because the TGPs were only ever installed on one specific pylon. Obviously as a pilot if you saw the TGP was getting close to masking you could manoeuvre the aircraft to help prevent it. Stupid question, but if the TGP view is masked outside the line, then how is it presenting the full image as is, seeing outside the line?
Looney Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Can we at least ascertain which direction the aircraft is heading? 125 would be my guess. Also, assuming the black zones are water, we're looking at a coastal or lake-side area. The main question is, which map? Oh I do love a good puzzle :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Commodore 64 | MOS6510 | VIC-II | SID6581 | DD 1541 | KCS Power Cartridge | 64Kb | 32Kb external | Arcade Turbo
viper2097 Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Stupid question, but if the TGP view is masked outside the line, then how is it presenting the full image as is, seeing outside the line? The line is not the border of the video image, it is the border of the gimbal of the pod. There is a smal white dot moving inside these borders. If it touches one of those borders, the whole picture gets masked. (You can see the white spot going from top to down in the video) Steam user - Youtube I am for quality over quantity in DCS modules

The F-14 launches with an in-depth simulation of the LANTIRN TGP!" How can they release this week when there still working on the tgp???? Why can't the pod be functionally complete, but the shader set not be finalized? Heatblur updated the radar in the Viggen to improve the image and usability without altering the function of the radar system. I suspect that Heatblur plans to update the shader stack for the LANTIRN at some point in the future, but froze development in order to get to EA release. However, I think this week is out for release, at this point
