Chic Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 (edited) Yah voice to text is rather imprecise but coordinates should not be a prob. “Nor” is fine. For numerals, avoid run-ons. Four, four rather than forty-four. Pause tween number sets. 4, 4, pause, 3,7, pause, etc... Before long you get the hang of it and miss cues become rare. With VoiceAttack, voice training goes a long way, also, mic sensitivity is important. For me, recognition is optimal when the VoiceAttack sound bar range is @ 25-30 %. Edit: as a side note, your voice training can be saved so you can take it with you if you go to a different rig. Habu_69 Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Spent a bit of time on this and did extensive voice recognition training. Scratchpad use seems to require some speaker training, as well as voice recognition training. Now I am finding that voice recognition consistently interprets "north" as a command and Scratchpad prints * each time "north" is pronounced. South == $, East == ^, West == @. I can find no documentation of this behavior and need to devise a work-around. "N" is interpreted as "and."
Captain Orso Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 I want to use scratchpad in VR to aurally record coordinates, from JTAC for example, but Scratchpad produces lots of misunderstood text. "North" usually prints as "Nor". Sometimes it produces numerals, sometimes spelled numbers. Mistakes numbers for other words, etc. I will try voice training again. As kaltokri stated, what is input into Scratchpad depends entirely on what Window speech recognition understands ONLY. It has absolutely nothing to do with Scratchpad. Windows has an app for training your windows installation to understand your speech. It basically has you say a word and then write what you mean. Do it often enough and windows will recognize your specific speech pattern in flight, so to say. When you hit the wrong button on take-off System Specs. Habu_69 Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Thanks. I will check out the app and perhaps play with mic output gain.
Habu_69 Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Found the app AND turned on Win 10 Voice Recognition. Works pretty well now.

Chic Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 (edited) Thanks did and it worked now if I could only get text to speech to type in that box would have it made. Text to speech work perfect in say Word but will not work atoll in DCS witch scratchpad open If you’re saying that VoiceAttack’s speech to text is not working with the ScratchPad, make sure that you are positioning the ScratchPad window directly over VoiceAttack’s default cursor position which the center of your screen. The cursor needs to be focused on the ScratchPad window for STT to work. EDIT: the aforementioned advice assumes you are using the VA profile offered in post #50 of this thread. Nealius Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 I've been having a bit of an issue with my scratchpad in VR and can't figure it out. I'll have information written in the scratchpad, then delete it. But instead of being deleted, the text remains visible at a low opacity. When I write new text, the new text ends up getting mixed with the low opacity old text (that should have been deleted) and things are hard to read.
Captain Orso Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 Do you have the latest version? There was an update a couple of weeks ago. When you hit the wrong button on take-off System Specs. Lange_666 Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 assuming you already run VoiceAttack, after installing scratchpad mod,... The dictation commands come from the "OTHER " Menu, also {DICTATION} is a token (don't know what that really means) but its case sensitive I'm having an issue with the dictation thingy. It only records the first thing i say after i said scratch pad. If i put the cursor into the scratch pad windows and say "display" it will display what i just said (or what Windows Recognition thinks what i said) but then i can't add anything else until i close the scratch pad again and re-open. The "display" command stops the dictating mode which was set to start in the "scratch pad" command but there seems no way i can use another command to re-activate the dictate mode again without closing the scratch pad window itself. Tried a bit of everything to re-start the dictation but can't get it to work. Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. JSpidey Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 I put together a beefed up VoiceAttack program that allows you to dictate hands free to ScratchPad. You can also opt to hear an audio playback of your dictation if you want to bypass ScratchPad. The playback will loop10 times or until you Say ENOUGH. It bypasses Windows Clipboard and handles all the text editing and window focus issues as well. Currently, the ScratchPad component is working in 2D but I'm not sure how its workin in VR. I'm not in VR any longer so I can't troubleshoot. Feel free to work on it and share. Please report bugs. THANK YOU n26 for ScratchPad. Update: The profile now working in VR. Profile version & ReadMe updated. I already use VA for DCS World and have Vaicom profile, is there a way I can use that profile with this? Or do I have to do one or the other?

JSpidey Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Prego Actually a new problem is arising, I run VR and I usually ALT+ENTER to fullscreen it, when doing that even adjusting the mouse cursor to primary window doesn't seem to work, it will go relative to my heads position, any ideas?
