Maybe it`s hard to tell, but the sweet spot looks quiet a good size on the Reverb as he was scanning the cockpit. The video looks extremely promising and I am definitely going to make a purchase as soon as it lands on Amazon, unless Acer suddenly bring their HMD to the fore. As for the Rift S, it`s not even in the reckoning unless I could pick it up at 1/2 price.

That through-the-lens youtube video looks crazy good. This headset is quite ahead of the competitions when it comes to resolution, likely going to be the top choice for serious simmers and movie watchers. I'm pretty sure other WMR manufacturers will also try to catch up. Imagine the Samsung version of this with OLED display.

PC: 5800X3D/4090, 11700K/3090, 9900K/2080Ti.

Joystick grips: TM (Warthog, F/A-18C), Realsimulator (F-16SGRH, F-18CGRH), VKB (Kosmosima LH, MCG, MCG Pro), VPC MongoosT50-CM2

Throttles: TMW, Winwing Super Taurus, Logitech Throttle Quadrant, Realsimulator Throttle (soon)

I wonder how the performance was. I'll need to watch that soon. Sounds like it would be worth waiting for.

On Xplane probably pretty good.

It all looks very promising, having said that it may pay to have a look at DCS Reverb review in something like the Hornet before we all get too excited. There’s a lot of pixels to push at Mach 2.0 low level over Dubai!

Heh, it was the child-like me that made me pre-order the non-pro, just because I wasn't finding the Pro version anywhere, and wanted to grab my place in line. :)

What's the difference the pro and the non-pro? I cant find anything on google...

New VR Simpit: Intel 10700K, MSI Seahawk X 1080Ti (waiting for 3080Ti or 3090), 32 GB 3600MHz RAM, HP Reverb, TM Warthog

Pro version has leather inside for your face, non pro not. That is the only difference. :D

The major difference is in the eye padding or whatever. The "Pro" has a leather-ish higher end padding, while the retail/commercial has a cheaper regular thinner type deal.

edit - hah, that's the 2nd time in a week I've posted the same info in the same minute as someone else...

Pro has wipe clean, faux leather face pad, a standard cable and a shorter cable for backpack PC use. It also has a commercial grade warranty, presumably some type of expedited RMA process.

System spec: i9 9900K, Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Ultra motherboard, 32Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 RAM, Corsair M.2 NVMe 1Tb Boot SSD. Seagate 1Tb Hybrid mass storage SSD. That's the only potential drawback unless you have a huge IPD.

Good news is the VR update is most likely in the next patch 2.5.5...

I'm intrigued, but I'll be anxiously awaiting frame rate reports with the high resolution of the visuals on the Reverb. Had it preordered at Amazon but cancelled and will patiently await you guys being guinea pigs. ;)

I wish HP and Valve would hurry the F* up. I am so tempted to pull the trigger on the Rift S!
