key_stroked Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Been over a month since the last one. I've almost stopped flying it completely because I just can't stand the under performing engine issues. I wish Heatblur could just publish their own hot fix so we don't have to always wait for ED's schedule.
Surrexen Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 I think the delay is because of the 2.5.5 rollout. Just have to be patient :)

SandMan23 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Nine line posted in the discord that they are still working on it and don’t know if it will be ready for tomorrow. This was posted in the F18 forum. So doubtful there will be an update tomorrow of even this week for that matter.
VampireNZ Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019  Get a Rift S tomorrow to try out for a week.....was hoping for an update. Vampire

key_stroked Posted May 29, 2019 Author Posted May 29, 2019 Serious question: why should a 3rd party company who's product I don't even own hold up the update for the product I do own? This is really silly.
Nealius Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 I think I missed something about the under-performing engines issue...I'm on the latest OB and they seem fine to me. Takeoff in a jet with full internal fuel and empty external tanks and it's a rocket all the way up to 26,000ft, 45-degree climb. Never dropped below 300kts. Cruising at 400kts with the throttle at maybe 75% forward....

Chris-NO Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 It's not unflyable. I've not been aware of the "underperforming" engines. I'm sure you wouldn't had noticed anything if you didn't read about it either. So you saying stopped flying it completely and saying its getting silly that it's been a month since the last update, THATS silly. Why do people insist finding the smallest stuff to complain about, and not appriciate what the developers of the game and modules has done for it, and just be patient? This is really silly. Because others might own the module you don't own, so understandably the company managing all them modules wants to ship a patch that is tested as good as possible against *all* that stuff. i7 - 9700K | 32 GB DDR4 3200 | RTX 2080 | VKB Gunfighter Mk II /w MCG Pro | Virpil T-50CM2 Throttle | TrackIR 5 | VKB Mk. DD_Fenrir Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 I like the "finally" aspect to the OPs thread title. How many updates has the F-14 received since release, what, nearly 3 months ago? Do you know how long it's been since we had any update to the WWII assets pack that's been out two years? Seriously, some people need to grow some damn perspective. The F-14 is eminently playable, fun and challenging still. To throw one's toys out of the pram and not play it because of some slight - yes, slight; even Heatblur acknowledged it'll be a tweak to the thrust/drag numbers, not some magic bullet that'll turn the Tomcat into some wunder-plane, you'll still need some skill to milk the best out of it - performance issues is frankly feeble and the only person you're cheating is yourself.

Because its all the same game. Generally speaking normal patch cycles, that doesn't happen, either the Devs get the changes in or they don't. When you move up with a major engine change 2.4 -> 2.5 (now with moar VR), everyone needs to update their stuff so it doesn't break the whole game. These major engine jumps happen maybe 2x a year IIRC so I have no issue waiting. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog.
